Westland Plumbing Inc

I hired Westland Plumbing to perform plumbing work as part of a complete finishing of my basement, on September 13, 2013. I requested five different plumbing companies come to my house to provide bids. Chris, the owner of Westland Plumbing, answered my initial phone call the first time, as opposed to having to leave a messege. Chris was very courteous and patient as I explained what I wanted to have done. Chris was also receptive to my desire to do as much of the "manual labor" as possible and have them concentrate on the "skilled labor" part of the job; so I could save as much money as possible. Chris, agreed to come to my house the next day to evaluate the job and provide a bid. Chris and his two sons, who are also plumbers, arrived at my house promptly as we had agreed upon. They were completely courteous and professional during the bid process. Although we agreed Westland Plumbing would complete the "rough in" plumbing work and I would complete the "final" plumbing work (fixtures, etc.), they did agree to provide a detailed break down bid of all potential work so I could pick and choose what I would do and what they would do, to stay within my budget. Westland Plumbing spent more than half an hour reviwing my project and taking measurements; I mention the measurments, because they were the only company who did that. Chris also was very willing to answer any questions I had pertaining to what I wanted them to do, but more importantly to me, they were willing to teach me little plumbing things I was capable of doing myself to save money. Chris, emailed me a detailed bid within approximately two days and also followed up with a phone call to see if I had any questions. It was another week before I chose Westland Plumbing to do the work because I wanted to wait until I recieved all five bids before making a decision. Westland Plumbing's bid was not the lowest (although they were very competetive). Among the five plumbing companies, I chose Westland Plumbing partly because of their price, but mostly because of their professionalism and willingness to listen to my concerns and requirements for this job. Once I advised Westland Plumbing that I wanted them to perform the work, they agreed to do it the very next day. Chris and his sons were once again very punctual and got right to work. I imagined this job would take more than one day, but they were able to finish in approximately 4.5 hours. Once they were done, I examined their work. Everything appeared very professionally done. There were a couple things that I wanted done differently (they were not wrong, I just wanted them different); Chris happily agreed to make the changes I wanted without any extra charge. I requested payment for this project be contingent on the work passing a city codes inspection, which Chris had no problem with. The work was completed on a Friday and I had the city inspection done the following Monday. The inspection was passed without any problems. Because I don't have any real plumbing skills, I asked the inspector how Westland Plumbing's work was, past simply passing the inspection. The inspector said the work was real good and he did not see any issues at all. A couple days after the inspection was completed, I realized I needed two of the water supply lines run differently than Westland originally ran them (once again this was my issue, not a mistake). I notified Westland of my issue and they agreed to come out and make the change without hesitation. They re-ran the water lines the next morning and did not charge me anything additional. I don't think I have ever written a review before, but Westland Plumbing was so easy to work with and their finished product was so good, I felt obligated to write a review.
