Repairman assessed that the refrigerator needed a new/ repair to the controller board for almost $500. Paid $89 for the service call which would be deducted from the future service. Instead I unplugged and replugged the appliance myself and everything working properly--a computer 'reboot' so to speak. Don't know if the repair assessment was the result of incompetence or outright fraud, but there are many better companies in Kansas City. Attempts to resolve the poor service call with company representatives were unsatisfactory. I have also contacted U Line regarding this recommended vendor.
Description of Work: Called this company (now located in Overland Park, KS) as they were one of two recommended U Line repairers for my under counter beverage center which was running but temperature control not working, light out and running constantly. Appliance was 2 years old.

This nightmare required two trips: one for diagnosis and one to install parts. Half of which they got right. The dishwasher is the only thing they repaired properly. The control board went bad in the dishwasher. The ice maker involved replacing the entire unit. The repairman wrestled with the installation of the unit for about 45 minutes before finally seating it in a manner which he thought was correct. Less than 48 hours after it was installed it began leaking on our new hardwood floor. Upon contacting them again they were unable and unwilling to send someone out in less than a few days due to being "fully scheduled". Both the call-taker and owner were quite combative over a situation that could have been resolved easily (i.e. completing the job they were hired to do). We ended up having to call in yet a different company to repair the icemaker. In all honesty, I could have performed a slightly better repair on the icemaker using the owner's manual and youtube than Mr. Appliance did. It still would have ended up giving us problems but I wouldn't be out $462. Hire at your own risk and expect to have to hire a different firm to complete the repairs.
Description of Work: The ice maker on our 3 year old Maytag refrigerator had quit working and our 3 year old Maytag dishwasher had stopped working altogether.

My LG washer/dryer single drum combo unit, model WM3431HW, shuts itself off when it's supposed to be drying. Clothes are left soaking wet. Mr. Appliance of Liberty is allegedly an LG certified service provider. When making initial appointment, I grilled Keith on whether they were experienced with repairs on an LG washer/dryer combo unit. He called me back and assured me they were. When John arrived for first appointment, July 29, 2015, he'd never seen a single drum combo unit and finally called LG Service. John suggested that I was unfamiliar with the controls on this machine that I've owned for 6 years and was confusing "dry" with "wet." (I have an M.S. degree and don't appreciate the "blame the stupid woman" response.) John finally decided machine needed a new control board and two thermistors. Parts were ordered and I was charged for the service call. I never felt that he fully understood the concept of a ventless dryer, having never seen one of any brand before today. The next day, I went to use washer only and washer pumped water out on kitchen floor. Had never done that before. John returned on August 13 and installed circuit board and thermistors, but said machine now needed drain bellows. Ordered the part. Third visit was on August 26. Drain bellows installed. Total charges: $529. Machine dried for TWO DAYS then problem resumed. I'm out one entire month and $529 and the machine is in the exact same condition it was in when I first called Mr. Appliance of Liberty. I won't call them again because they charge for every service visit and are clearly unable to repair my machine. I'm now attempting to go thru the manufacturer to find a more skilled repair service. Keith should not have told me they were able to repair a single drum washer/dryer combo unit when his service technician had never seen such a machine and had zero experience with repairing one.
Description of Work: Service made three service calls. Replaced control board, drain bellows, thermistors.
