Cost is so low because of all the energy rebates available at the time. The energy wasn't as detailed as I would've expected and mainly centered around insulation. The report contained a lot of generic info without much detail or pictures. If i were to need an audit again, I would probably go through a energy audit company, versus an insulation company that did energy audits. After the audit and insulation quotes were provided, I still had a lot of technical questions that weren't getting answered. I was able to call and talk to the owner, Tim, who was very knowledgeable and got all my questions answered. When the spray foam guys showed up to start work, they were on time and friendly. They started in the basement and moved everything on the walls to the center of the room before spraying the rim joists, was very happy I didnt have to do that. They then moved into the attic upstairs and started spraying the knee walls. Originally they were only supposed to spray the knee walls, all the attic walls were supposed to be blow-in insulation, but one of the sales guys showed up and told them the entire attic needed to be spray foamed and sealed. After that had happened without me knowing, Tim called and apologized for the mistake and let me know that I wouldnt be charged any extra for the spray foam. The downside being that my attic was now completely sealed, rendering my attic fan useless. I figured this wasn't so bad because of my allergies so I decided to leave it be. During the spray foam process, the install guys needed a flashlight, I happened to have my Rigid work light sitting upstairs, so they decided to take it upon themselves to use it without asking. As they were leaving, they told my wife that it had gotten covered in insulation, and they scraped away as much as possible, but it still looked trashed compared to being brand new before. I called Tim, and since the Rigid light isn't sold separately, only as part of a huge set, he offered to give me $50 off my bill. They also left the upstairs with a very strong spray foam smell that lasted for days and didnt do any type of ventilation. The blow-in insulation guys came next, this was just a small section of the lower attic over my family room. As they were blowing in, one of the guys stepped through the ceiling. My family room has a very old tile ceiling that would be impossible to match. We were able to staple up some of the tiles, but still some cracks and corners missing from where it fell in. Tim said for drywall, it would be an easy fix, but since that wasnt the case they gave me another $25 off my bill. All in all, the work got done, it was just a bump road. Tim was very friendly and worked through all the issues in a professional manner.

It went very well. After the audit, I was given a breakdown of what needed to be done to improve my house. I opted for the package where they would not drill holes into my walls on the main level of my two story and blow in the insulation. Other than that, I did everything they recommended. They even filled out the energy rebate forms for me as well. I qualified for $1900 in rebates with $900 coming directly off my initial bill and $1000 mailed to me about a month or so after the work was completed. The bill prior to the rebates was appr. $4700 and I paid $2800. The 2nd floor of the house was noticeably warmer during the winter and seems cooler so far this summer. I anticipate my energy going down as a direct result of th insulation. The only thing they need to improve is with their communiation. I sent several emails that weren't responded to in a timely manner and sometimes I had to follow up to get a response. But with that being said, if I called, my calls were returned promptly. Overall, I'd recommend them with no hesitation.

I used a coupon to get a home energy audit. It was very interesting to see in your home where you are losing heat, they use infrared cameras to take photos as well as looking for leaks. I got a written report about 2 weeks after they came, they had some recommendations for me but did not do a hard sell on me to get me to spend my money.

Through no fault of Hayes Co, it took a while to complete the appointment due to the weather. Once the appointment was finally kept, the company rep, Jeff, was very professional, knowledgable, and helpful in explaining what he was doing, why, and what I should expect from the audit. However, I have not received any follow-up reports from the audit. Jeff said I would receive a report within a week or two from the date of the audit. I have called at least 2 times (most recently the 1st week in May, 2013) to get the report and I was told Jeff, would call me about the report. I still have not received a call or an email from Jeff or anyone else at the company concerning the report. I appears that only the person doing the audit can give me any information about the audit. After 2 months, this seems like 1/2 the work was done. The audit report is an important component of the audit. Since I paid for the audit, I would like to receive an audit report so I can use it for energy improvements and tax-credits for those improvements.

Making the appointment and having the team come out to give me the energy audit went according to plan. However, the really great Hayes representative who was to write up the report quit The Hayes Company soon after and I fell through the cracks. After having called and emailed the company, the owner said that he would take care of the report himself. I found the report not to have the in-depth information that the original Hayes employee and I talked about, it seemed more like an estimate to have the attic sprayed with foam and insulation. I realize that I fell through the cracks. I understand that things happen. I was simply disappointed in the company, especially as there was no follow up. I'm sure that others find them perfectly acceptable. We just weren't a good match.

Mike O"Connell went above and beyond the call of duty for me. Went over in great detail what needed to be done. Crew was great. Punctual, efficient & professional. This is the second time Hayes has insulated a home for me. I would use them again if I would move. I always recommend getting at least 3 estimates. Hayes is fair and you pay what was estimated. No surprises.

They were great. They just followed through with everything and we had a good communication. They did everything in one day. I will recommend them for doing a good job.

My experience with them went very well. My husband had some issues with them. It took them a while to get back to us for some things that they still needed to come back to do. He kept emailing them but they took a while to get back. They had to come out a few times to do some different things.

From the first to last meeting, I think everything went well.

They did a real thorough audit. They hooked up the blower to the front door which caused them to figure out where air was coming in. They looked at my heating and cooling system. They put together a real thorough report, listing what needs to be done. I am very satisfied with what they did.

They preformed most of the services as included in the coupon. Never did the thermal test and never checked insulation in the garage as I requested. My home has a bedroom about the garage which is a concern for me. The report was mostly generally information on how to insulate your home. Basically received an air blower test and inspection. I was not impressed.

I thought they did a good, thorough job. They gave me some energy saving tips.

For the $100, they did exactly what I expected them to. They were very professional, very good, very considerate and very thorough. I think their price was fair.

Service was efficent and very knowledgeable. Took time to answer all of our questions and explined very well. Our house is more energy effician than I thought! Good thing! No high pressure sales for their follow up services! Would recomend this company.

They were fabulous! They were incredibly honest and told me what I needed to do and what wasn’t needed. Other companies attempted to sell me more extensive types of work, when it really wasn’t necessary.

We feel we received a great job for the money. The guys were all very nice. We asked if they could come out a little later in the morning after finding out that we scheduled a school holiday. They were great about it. They always called me back right away when I had questions. We feel some improvement over our upstairs temperatures in the bedrooms since the insulation has been added. They also sealed off all off the attic. May 2014 update: We saved an average of $40 - $60 a month in 2013 compared to 2012 during the months we ran the air conditioner. There were two months in 2013 that were very hot and we saved $200+ each month! Even if you don't use Hayes Company make sure you have enough insulation in your attic and that it is sealed off. Very happy!

Everything went well. The tech was timely and polite. He was able to do everything independently. Report turnaround was quick.

The audit was scheduled and the two person's who performed the audit arrive exactly on time. The audit lasted over two hours. It included a review of my past utility bills, measurement of the house/windows/doors, inspection and measurements from the attic down to the basement, a blower door test for air leaks, inspection of furnace and air conditioner, test for carbon monoxide and infrared camera imaging from outside the house and in the attic. Afterwards they summarized their findings and offered various recommendations for improvements, along with some estimates for additional insulation and air sealing. I think the audit was very thorough and well worth the cost.

The team came in and insulated the attic. They were pleasant and professional. There was some confusion about how much of the attic that had been agreed upon. The phone call to set it all up did not clarify the idea that not the WHOLE attic would be sealed with blown in insulation. Apparently, they don't normally seal the area over the unheated garage. Who knows though, when we would get the garage heated? However, even though they were not ready to insulate the entire attic. The work team, for an additional charge, completed the job to my satisfaction. I wanted the whole attic insulated. After all, after investing in having these people come out, I didn't want them to do an incomplete job. Anyhow, even though they had to change product because they were not expecting to do that much attic, they finished doing the entire area. Now our house is noticeably warmer and the heating bill has dropped.

They were very pleasant and professional. I have a big dog and they were excellent with him. I would give them an "A" for everything except for clean up.

The team was very professional and after introducing themselves, explained what they would be doing around the house. By using their laptop computer they were able to track that everything was completed and summarize findings on the spot. They mentioned this was their first attempt at doing it this way; instead of compiling and mailing a summary later. You wouldn't have known it was the first time as it went smoothly from a customer perspective.
