Certified Radon

Our fan went bad after 3 years. We had Certified Radon (original installers) come out to replace our fan. Something was not properly sealed and moisture trips the circuit. Now that fan trips the circuit breaker, my sump pump is on the same circuit. They will not come and fix their install problem for over a month. The only advice was to TURN OFF MY FAN for the 5 week wait, so that my sump pump will work. Disappointed.

Excellent from initial contact through completion of installation. I liked that they did not recommend using sump hole and explained why. They also cared more about external cosmetics than ease of installation. Would highly recommend to others.

Tech came out on time, explained what he would do and then answered questions I had. Estimated two hours to complete the job and he was exactly right. Installation was perfect. Follow up three days later and tech arrived a few minutes early. Radon level now at 0.8. Overall excellent service and would highly recommend this company.

Radon levels were reduced from over 10 pCi/L to well below 2.

Other than a couple of rescheduling of appointments, one due to the tech having the flu, everything was completed in a professional and timely manner. The price paid was the price quoted. The rescheduling of appointments was done in advance and was not a problem for me. The work completed was neat and professional and the tech ensured a clean area before he left. Very unprofessional. Instead of showing up during the approved appt time to set up the radon test, they used the IBOX set up by my realtor to enter my house about an hour earlier. I was in the shower (yikes) and walked out in a towel while the technician was in the house (double yikes), and my young daughter (who was home at the time) was totally freaked out that a stranger was in the house. When I called them to complain, they said the technician had randomly moved up the appt time without telling anyone at the central office or confirming with my realtor that this was OK. I called them to explain how the IBOX is not a free-for-all to enter people's houses whenever they would like. They didn't really take responsibility, instead it was, "I'm sorry you're upset," kind of thing. Overall, they seem like they have good reviews, so maybe this was a one-off incident.

Went great. Both the estimator and installer tried to come up with a solution that would work as an interior option for our house, which unfortunately didn't work due to the layout of it. I was really surprised the installer tried finding an exterior option since at the point where he came out we had already agreed on the interior option. He could've just done the agreed upon job and called it a day, so I really appreciated him taking the extra time to look everything over once again. I would hope this wasn't just his way of doing things and that the company trains all their people in good customer service like this.

The consultation was informative and thorough. The installation was fairly quick and straightforward. The results were excellent!

The woman I spoke with at Certified Radon answered all of my questions and scheduled my appointment with ease. They arrived on time and picked up the test equipment on time. I received the radon gas results the same day! The whole process was quick and easy. The staff and technician were professional and courteous. If I decide to test radon in my home again in a couple of years, I am calling them back. I would definitely recommend Certified Radon!

The tech had a tough time finding a good location to put the pipe in so the person who had come out for the estimate and the tech weren't on the same page. The tech was able to get it handled though, and his work was good. I was not pleased so much with the guy who came out to pick up the tests. My house had a security system, and I was not told of the time of his arrival. I asked him how he was getting into the house, was an agent meeting him, etc. because I wasn't notified. He proceeded to read my alarm instructions and code out loud in my driveway. That was probably the worst part of my experience. The rest of the disorganization was probably normal. I changed my alarm code after that because I had already experienced one theft since the for sale sign was put in my yard. My central air unit had been stolen, and I wasn't taking any chances since the alarm code had been announced.

My experience with Certfied Radon couldn't have been better. When I first called, they were able to pull up pictures of our house and we discussed the layout of the basement. They confirmed that they could locate the fan and vent pipe in the back corner of our house where we wanted it and gave me a firm quote at that time. The technician arrived right on time and was very professional. The installation took around three hours and the quality of work was outstanding. In talking with the technician it was obvious how much pride he took in his work. He left a radon monitor which was picked up a few days later. Our radon level was reduced from 5.6 to 1.2.

This was a $50 big deal purchase and it was fine; that was some time ago. They did what they said they were going to do, I have no way of judging if they did it average or exceptional. I spent a few hundred dollars more than the price of the deal for the system. I was in a crisis selling my house and I had to get it done.
