"Thank you, [Member Name Removed], for the opportunity to make your home radon safe! We look forward to seeing the results of your follow up test."

"Hello - thank you, once again, for this recommendation. We really appreciate it. Would you mind if we use this on our web site's page of recommendations? I would use your name, Weston S. Kansas City. Let me know if this is ok. Thank you."
I had ResCom out to run a more accurate radon test after having a high average level of 5 pCi/L using a card test. They were able to arrange the test quickly after I contacted them, and placed a continuous radon monitor in my basement, which ran for 3 days. The average reading from that test was 7 pCi/L, with peak levels of 12pCi/L. I had researched the cost of a mitigation system and was expecting it to be around $1000. The quote I received from ResCom was $725, so I decided to have them do the job.
The day that the install was scheduled turned out to be stormy. I had stayed home from work for the install. Tom had contacted me about an hour before they were to show up and said that they were monitoring the weather, and would be out if the storms blew through. A few hours later, it had quit raining were Tom was at, and he said he would be coming my way since it looked like it would be out by the time they got here. I told him it was still raining pretty good at my house. Tom had said they would chance it since I had stayed home for them to come, they wanted to make sure I didn't have to stay home another day. It was still a bit stormy when they got here, but the rain had pretty much stopped. The guys got in and quickly completed my job. They cleaned everything up after they were done, and gave me a follow up card test to start a few days after the system had been running. I got the results back from that test, which were and lt;0.3 pCi/L. So, it looks like the system is working!

"(removed member name) - we appreciate your referral so much! Mitigating radon, especially as high as yours, is so critical to the health and well-being of a family. We were very glad to be of service."
I would strongly suggest that you give these folks a call if you want to know whether you have a radon problem, or if you know you do, and want it fixed. Incidentally, I can tell you, I grew up in the house that turned out to have radon, and everyone who has lived in that house for extended periods of time have ended up with cancer. Is it the radon? maybe. I definitely feel better knowing that radon levels are down in the house, thanks to the great guys at ResCom.
Incidentally, they were very quick to start and finish the job, and their price was very reasonable based on other calls I made. I'm certainly glad I decided to go with ResCom.
