Honest-1 Auto Care-Roseville

It was fine. They tried to upcharge me a bunch. I guess that's typical of any oil change place. The quality of work was good, as well as the demeanor and attitude of the provider.

1. I got an appointment in advance and did not have to wait 2. The waiting area is very clean and very well maintained. Looks very professional and inviting 3. I was greeted by Tony, who was very professional and pleasant to work with 4. I have a vehicle which requires synthetic oil. The ad in Angie's list said "$28 Synthetic Oil Change, Tire Rotation & 100-point Inspection!" as the deal header. I was told that the deal was for Synthetic Blend- Synthetic oil will be $15 extra. I believe that is what the "fine print" said. While it makes sense for them to charge extra for more expensive oil, I think their ad should have been more clear. Tony waived that 5. I had asked for a windshield wiper change (I had wiper in the trunk and requested this at least three times)- It was not changed. While checking out I offered to pay for the wiper change but was told that it was taken care of. I was disappointed to see that it was not changed 6. The shop identified a couple of leaks accurately in the car. Also they did a cost benefit analysis on the spot and recommended that I do not make the repairs- it was nice to know that the shop does not make recommendations just to "get your business" 6. Overall my experience was better than what I had expected going in and would definitely recommend the shop to anyone

I went there regularly for a time, but then stopped. The reason was that I had to return to the shop several times to have poorly done work corrected. For a time I also used another shop- the mechanics there commented on some of the work done at A1 in an unfavorable way.

It has mixed results. The first, second and third visit they said that I needed a new transmission and they gave me a quote only to find out that I did not need a new transmission according to my daughter. The reviews I have read about them have several bad ones. I called the telephone number I saw twice but he never called me back. I don’t think I will recommend them. One person, I think he was the boss, I talked to on the phone gave me a quote. When I went in for the service, they want to charge me $150 more. They said that they did a lot of bunch of things. I don’t know if that was fair. There are different people and they charge differently. They estimate very differently but I think some are doing it fairly. I think they have done things that I really don't need. I'll give them an "F" for integrity.

My experience with Honest-1 Auto Care-Roseville was average. Their pricing was fair and I got the vehicle done in time. My disappointment was I check engine lights were on. I did not even noticed that till I looked and see if she can recommend stuffs to be fixed when I took It in for an oil changed.

The oil change and inspection was performed as expected. The only disappointing thing is that I received 'the typical' list of items I need to replace/fix on the car. I say 'typical list' because that's what almost all car service places do, right? I was hoping A1 was different but not so. The service was good, the results are fine, but I don't really feel a need to use them again.

The oil change was done in an hour, even though it was a weekday. After they gave my car an inspection, they spoke to me about a few things I might want to get done. No pressure. I ended up buying the deal again for my sister to take her car in as well.

Honest-1 Auto Care-Roseville was great. It's actually a package deal like three or four oil changes plus $25 off break job and other discount. The price of his last thing was kind of high. I will probably not use them again because they're so expensive.

I was happy with them. They were really good at laying out. He didn't push a replacement for that part and I really appreciated that. This is good. They gave me explanations and guidance and they also pointed out something and that it would be bad or the tires. So basically, I felt that they took me as a person. They treated me respectfully. They explained things. I could ask questions and I thought that we had a good interaction and it was all just fine. I don't know if that's always the case but I felt really happy there. I talked with the Asian person who I think is owner and we had quite a bit of a small talk and that was like very pleasant. The price seemed reasonable. The quality was good. There was no problem with the appointment and it was easy.

We had a good experience. We dropped off our car and picked it up the next day. The employees were friendly and efficient. We received a 20$ coupon in the mail for being repeat customers.

It was good. They were able to make an appointment that was convenient for me. As far as dislikes, I really don't have any.

Fantastic and will make my regular service provider.

They did the job pretty quickly. I was pleased. They took care everything that I needed. That was my first visit them, I certainly would go back again. One little perk that makes me wanna go back again, they put on top of the dashboard in front of the driveway, they put a red carnation and little individual package of Cheetos. It's awesome and I thought they were great.

I was charged $119 for the diagnostic which was really just a confirmation of what I already knew since I had a scan done before going there. Both camshaft sensors were replaced when only one was giving an error message. The charge to change the sensors was another $119. Nothing blocks access to the sensors. Swapping them was likely a 10 minutes job at most. The cost of the sensors were close to twice what I could have bought them at in the store. They also told me that rear brake were frozen and were not breaking at all. This could have been true but there was no rust on the breaking area which indicates to me that they were getting cleaned by regular breaking and also I did not notice any difference with the new brakes I was in a rush to get the problem solved and I agreed to whatever they diagnosed too quickly. I realized only later by doing some research that I did not need to have all this done and overpaid for what was really required. Quality of the work was satisfactory but very expensive Update on 4/42013 A few weeks after the work was done, the rear brakes started to rust, both disk areas (areas of no friction) and calipers. I thought I got poor quality parts but really did not want to go back to that place. But now the only thing I see when I get to my car are those rusty brakes. It looks really bad and thought I should probably do something about it, I decided to go back to that place to have them look at it. To say the least, this did not really go as planned. First, they did not even bother to take a look at the brakes. Second they said it was normal because it was after markets parts. So much for the "quality of the parts" that the owner mentions in his reply to my first comments. They offered to paint them so that they would not rust but obvisouly this was going to cost extra. I did update my ratings based on this last experience. Now I would have to say that the work and service were not satisfactory.

They did a good job. I was so pleased with their work, I bought a second Big Deal with this company.

The correctly diagnosed and fixed the problem. They are courteous and do good work at a reasonable price. I will definitely use them again.

The offer was for synthetic blend but I decided I wanted full synthetic. Upon checking, they found that my air filter and cabin filter needed replacement. they showed me the ones needing replacement (very dirty). I felt no pressure to purchase the filters. The work was done quickly and all staff were very friendly and professional.

Went in for an oil change. They talked us into buying their frequent customer card for discounts. It included 3 free oil changes and 10% off other services. After they did the oil change they said there was something wrong with the radiator and recommend we have it flushed out. They said we could use both the free oil change and 10% coupon for this visit. We said to go ahead. After they were finished, the guy at the front said he was wrong, we could only use one of the two coupons. We had already purchased the thing and could not return it. So we used the 10% off since it was a little better deal. 9 days later we were have troubles with the truck and we brought it back in. They said there was a bunch of junk in the radiator and they would need to flush it out, again., and we would be charged. They asked us what we put into the system. We had not added anything, so they said that they think we should buy a new radiator because this one is disintegration into the truck. We decided to get a second opinion. We were told the radiator was fine but should be flushed out. Keep in mind this is now 11 days after we just had it flushed out at Honest 1. We did end up using 1 of the free oil changes and the 10% off coupon, but decided we did not trust this shop and let the other coupons expire. Very disappointed.

It was good. Everything went well.

They were responsive - I was able to schedule an appointment when I wanted to get in. The office was clean, welcoming and offered great amenities: wifi, snacks, water/soda, TVs. The staff were very friendly and professional. However... I didn't expect to pay on top of the Angie's list deal. I left paying $62.62 more. The invoice is really confusing. It doesn't show actual price minus Angie's list deal. There are discounts by each service, but they don't add up to the deal - my husband and I couldn't make sense of it. I felt like it was a bait and switch.

A very expensive mistake. The young employee tried to sell tires in addition to suspension work for a bad vibration on the car. I declined the tires. When I picked up the car and asked the owner why the tires were added, he said it was the way to solve problem. He would not take the tires back since they were mounted, The total bill was $1700 and the vibration amd suspension problem was not eliminated at all. I will stick to our excellent local mechanic in the future.

I stopped in to Honest-1 Auto Care early, before 7a.m. the owner was there. After telling him how our Avalanche was acting he explained their procedure for diagnosing and repairing vehicles, including that after a diagnostic was performed, we could take our truck anyplace we wanted to have it repaired. I went home and had the truck towed to their facility .A short time later they phoned me with the diagnosis and I gave the OK for them to begin repairs. By the time my husband finished his workday the truck was repaired and ready to pickup. The computer part that had failed was expensive, but the labor charges were very competitive, we even received a 10% Angie's List discount. I especially appreciated it when Honest-1's owner told me that if at any time we felt pressured by a mechanic to have them perform any repairs, he wanted to hear about it because that was not the way he did business. We will definitely use Honest-1 Auto Care in the future for our automotive needs.

They are a top notch service provider. I have always felt good about the Roseville Honest 1 location and a recent experience was just icing on the cake. I was having problems with my car starting and had brought it in in March of this year. Two moths later, I continued to have intermittent issues resulting in a tow and later a jump. I had my car in the shop for several days and the issue returned the first day out of the shop. They kept it a couple more days as they did research to determine what the issue would be. When I got the car back, it lasted a couple days but once again, wouldn't start. Back to the shop. I did a little resarch on my own as I was getting a little frustrated and called the mechanic to discuss. He was very patient in explaining things that were as far a possilbe from familiar to me and explained that he thought he may have figured it out. It took another day and a half because of the amout of dismantleing that needed to occur to fix the rather small issue causing some big problems. I got the car back and have not had an issue since. The amount of time spent on this was increadible and to my suprise, I was not charge one red cent for all of the service, which I had not expected!

Communication at Honest-1 was very good and they provided excellent details when they called to explain what services were recommended. What we didn't like was all of the separate inspection fees that they charged for just looking at something. Most auto service providers will waive the inspection fee if you have the recommended work done. Not here. I talked to the owner, Peter Lee about this and he said that they had to charge these fees to pay for their mechanics time.They also offer a 3 year, 36,000 mile warranty and free roadside assistance with any service work that costs $25 or more. In the long run, these costs are probably passed on to the customer-maybe that's why they charge for the inspection fees. We probably will not be returning to Honest-1 for any further auto service.

They checked out several things that could have been causing the problem and said they could find nothing wrong; they did find that the throttle plate was pretty gunked up, so they cleaned it (no charge) and told me to bring it back if it was still sticking after that and they would take another look at it. Problem solved! I've brought my vehicles here before and have always been satisfied with their service and their work. When my car does need repairs, their prices are fair and the work is under a warranty.
