STORM DOORS ONLY

Dave was great! I called to set up an estimate and he came that same day. We had the new door installed four days later and it looks so much better than our old door! Service is fast and Dave is super friendly. i would not hesitate to call him again or refer him to other people. It's like the name of his company says, he does storm doors only and he's good at it!

Dave was very responsive to a message I left him thru Angie's List. He answered quickly and he made arrangements to come out and measure our doors for just to be safe. I ordered the doors, left him a message as to when they would be in and he responded in a timely manner back. When the doors were in Dave picked them up and installed them quickly. He has done so many he is very fast. He is meticulous about making sure the door is right in every way; square, closes without slamming, sweep set correctly, locking mechanism works, etc. i was very pleased with the service Dave provided and would recommend him to anyone looking for storm door installation.

After they came out to measure my door, I didn't hear back from them for a couple days. At that point they told me they wouldn't do any of the carpentry work around the door as they were busy trying to get as many jobs in as possible before the weather turned. I sent them pictures of the issue before they even came out, but I was still willing to accept that and asked them for a quote for just the door. I ended up asking them them for the measurements so I could go pick up a door for them to install. A few days later they got back to me and said a standard door wouldn't fit there. Again, fine, I understand this happens. I really just wanted a quote on what it would take to get a door, so I asked them for a quote on a custom storm door. Never heard back from them. It's pretty obvious they only want jobs that require the least amount of effort possible. Just standard doors where they an put them in in no time. If it's that simple of a job it seems like a DIY project to me. I wish they would have just told me they weren't interested in the job rather than this back and forth with me.

Was very prompt in responding to email, prices were very straightforward (though a bit hard to swallow at first) and installation was perfect.

I was not only impressed by his professionalism but also the price. He called just a few days after I called and left a message and scheduled an appointment just a few days later. He showed up on time, got right to work, and got the job done. He was so kind and fun to have in my house. I have already passed his name and number on.

Dave was great, and exactly what I was looking for. Storm doors are all he does, and he does them well. He picked up our new door at Menard's, installed it, and hauled our old door away. He was punctual, skilled, personable, and flexible with scheduling. He installed our door on a Saturday, which was great for us, since we work during the week. I highly recommend him.

Dave was so friendly and clearly takes so much pride in his work. It was a little bit of nonstandard install because the house was built in 1942 with all kinds of quirks but he did an awesome job and in the end the door looks fantastic! I couldn't be happier!

Everything went smoothly considering we had coordinate a installation date based on the outside temperature. I worked with Dave to come out and measure my entry way, select a door and how to ordering and pickup will work through Menards. He picked up the door when it was available and did a great job installing it. Very happy.

I called Dave on April 13th for a quote and for him to come measure my door. He took down my information, advised me that he would call me back with said information and that it wasn't going to be the same day . I hadn't heard back from him all week, so I called Friday, April 17th. He did say that he was unusally busy that week, and said that he would go to my redsidence immediately measure, and return to me with the dimensions. He did call back about an hour later with the info and the same cost for installation, which was his "usual" install charge. If I were Dave, I probably would have offered a discount on the install. I do understand that these things do happen, but I would have appreciated a phone call letting me know that it was going to be a week or so before I could even start looking for a new door.

Replaced broken screen door with new door. Responded to request quickly. Installation went well. Would recommend their service.

I called Dave and discussed my door issues. He recommended I purchase a few replacement parts before his appointment to prevent a lost trip. Excellent plan. When he arrived he confirmed his assessment, repaired the broken pieces and did adjustments to correct the base issue. Dave is very friendly, personable and has great deductive reasoning! I would recommend him to friends and family in a heartbeat.

I was unable to raise my storm door's upper glass panel due to a cracked lifting mechanism. Dave was able to schedule a service call within a few days. He arrived on time, assessed the situation and determined a solution to the problem, completing the work quickly and efficiently. He also noticed a small gap between the door and its frame on one side, and adjusted the door to eliminate the gap for a better seal. Though I had never noticed the gap, it was obvious when Dave pointed it out to me. This should reduce air infiltration in the winter. He answered my questions and demonstrated how to remove and re-install the glass panel for cleaning in the future. Dave was friendly and professional. I am very pleased with the results, and wouldn't hesitate to call him again. Thank you Dave!

We contacted two installers from the metro area who sell the same brand of door. Both installers came to our home and measured the openings and stated that they could not do the job. We were then referred to Dave Nelson of Storm Doors Only. Dave came to our home, he stated that he could do the job, he would pick up the door and side lite wraparounds and install them when they arrived from Larson. We could not be more pleased with the installation and the door. Dave is an extremely pleasant, professional installer and we would highly recomend him.

Our house has passed the century mark and sagging floor joists and walls are a given. The door frame of our storm door hadbeen shifting and the door did not close unless slammed, and then there was a gap between the door sill and the door sweep. Our regular handyman "fixed" the door by moving the door latch--only good once or twice. I called a couple other handyman and they flat out refused to work on a storm door--too much trouble. I finally found "Storm Doors Only" on Angie's List. I first tried to contact them through their website--no response. After a couple weeks I phoned and immediately got Dave on his cell phone. He was able to come inspect the door the following week, at a time my husband was home. It took him 20 minutes, tops, to adjust the door. It works like a charm. He did not charge for a service call since he was already in the neighborhood. Dave knows his storm doors and he is very responsive once you talk to him. I would just ding him a little on not checking e-mails--and that may be a computer problem.

Hiring a contractor can't go any smoother than it did with Dave! He was responsive and prompt with communicaiton, professional, knowledgeable about his work, and efficient. No gimmicks or attempts to upsell. Just a flat rate for door installation, assuming it's a regular install and no extra work is required. I was able to pre-purchase the door where I wanted to (I chose Menards), gave Dave the order number, and it was as easy as that. He arrived at the designated time with the door and less than an hour later the door was installed. We did not have another door that needed to be removed, but if we had, Dave would have also handled the transport and disposal of the old door. As another user noted, I can't imagine why you'd hire anyone else to install a storm door. It's Dave's niche, he cares about his work, and your door will be installed correctly. Dave's also friendly and enjoyable to talk to. Can't ask for more. Thanks for the great service, Dave!

The job went very well. After sending an email request for info from him, I received a phone call back within a couple of hours. Dave got us on his schedule in less than a week, showed up on time, and did a great job installing the new doors. Made a point to show us exactly how they worked. We were very pleased overall with the entire job.

You will not go wrong in hiring Dave to install your storm door.He will pick it up and install for one flat price. I would have given him an "A" in every category, however, for us old geezers, his price is high..Definitly worth it though.....He is VERY GOOD!!

Dave came and gave us an estimate of what it would cost to replace our existing outside storm door. We ordered the door through him and he installed it today. The door was of great quality and very reasonably priced. He did a great job of installing the door ensuring that it worked properly and cleaned everything up when he was done.
