Northland Fence Installed the fence on the back yard of our new house. It is a new construction and we had a lot of scheduling challenges due to rain. Northland Fence was fast and flexible working around the ever changing dates. The fence looks fantastic, and our dogs love it too.

It went amazing! I would give them 20 stars if I could. Every time I had to contact them about anything they were super personable, quick to respond, and answered questions in a helpful non-condescending way. The person that came out to measure the yard was very kind and wasn't trying to overcharge me, but instead was telling me what would work best for me and my family. The installers were super friendly as well. Everyone I've ever worked with at this company has been incredible. I had used them once before and had a similar experience. I'll never work with any other fence company! I would highly recommend them to others.

Install went well but they didn't tell me when they were coming. They installed the fence over one of the sprinkler heads so we had to get it moved which I could have pointed out if I knew what day they were coming. They also had to come back to fix the gate because it wouldn't open but again, they didn't tell me when they were coming so when I called again they said someone already came by to fix it. It still wasn't opening correctly so I had to specifically request that they call us when they come so we can talk to them and show them the problem. Other than that, the price was reasonable and response was quick via email.

Northland was prompt, got the job done, AND came back the same day to add extra, creative reinforcement to the fence (in the rain) after my escape-artist dog attempted to get out on day 1! She was NOT successful! Northland did a great job. I highly recommend them. One of the unique things they did for me was add fencing material to contour as close as possible against a couple angled walls, that otherwise would have been additional dog-escape risks. The solution they came up with, on the fly, was resourceful and effective. I'm very happy with the outcome and I've already recommended them to others.

We had a great experience working with Northland Fence! They gave us the best price for a beautiful fence. There was a hiccup with a sprinkler line being cut (which is when having a fence installed), but they fixed it without issue. My phone calls and texts were returned quickly, and I was very comfortable and confident with the crew members that completed the install. I am very happy with our new fence and would definitely recommend them to others.

After receiving a number of bids for our fence project, we decided to go with Northland based on their competitive price and the experience we had with Patrick when he came to give a bid. He set a start date of June 5 for removal of our existing chain link fence and to set the posts. The crew arrived and completed the work and indicated they would be back in 5 days to complete the job. Although it took an extra day, the team was obviously working hard and did a great job. We couldn't be happier with our fence and the experience with Northland.

The fences is still standing two years later. That is the best think I can write. The workmanship is poor with uneven cuts and sloppy installation. The customer service was horrible and two years later, Patrick (the owner) continues to evade my requests to finish the job (i.e., properly install the gates). The gates are sagging and the topper blew off (the same week of installation). I was in touch with Patrick (the owner) on multiple occasions immediately after the installation. He promised to come and resolve the remaining issues, but never returned. I contacted him multiple times the first summer (of the install), the second summer, and now the third summer. He simply does not respond to my emails or phone calls. This was a pattern. They left a mess in my yard and did a poor installation. The owner promised (at the time he was hired) to fill the fences posts by the gate with rock. According to Patrick (owner), the gates would sag and "lots of other guys don't to this, but that is poor quality work because the fence will sag." Well, he never fill them and the gates are very sagged. He also installed the latches backward. One one gate, it opened into an upward hill so the gate only opened 12 inches before hitting the upward slope. He had to remove and re-install the hardware on that gate. That left wholes in the PVC fence post, which looks very bad. There was not attempt to repair or hide the extra wholes. The other gate has the hardware backward, which required me to show every guest how to actually enter the backyard (they are that counter intuitive). To this day, there are still no caps on the top of the gates. The fence installers made a mess in my yard. This included some trash and a very large mound of sand from when they dug the fence posts. They left the mound in my backyard on my landscaped grass. I had to remove it myself two weeks later (a full day to effort with two people) and it left a large spot of dead grass and dirt, which I had to reseed. Patrick (the owner) said that it did not occur to the installers to put this on a hard surface--like the driveway--and they never warned us of this. We also agreed on a particular type of fence, which followed the grade of the ground (I have some sloping in my yard). I paid more for that fence type. The week before installation, Patrick called and tried to convince me to accept another type of fence that did not follow the grade of the ground. He said, "I will be fine." I had to insist that he abide by the contract. I was very fortunate that I had him write that detail in the contract. The whole experience was shocking. If a law suit was not such a hassle, I would have sued. I should have and still might.

Prompt communication to give an estimate and quick initial installation in July 2012. However, did not come back to finish! Have made 10 documented attempts and just as many calls and emails that I did not write down to contact both Northland Fence Minnesota in Brooklyn Park and Northland Fence and Repair in Shoreview, both owned by Patrick Quinn. One of the many calls was returned September 2013 and a date and time set for Mr. Quinn to repair the fencing. He didn't show up and we have not had any contact from him since, but not for lack of trying. In the mean time our dogs crawled right under the fence or between the ridiculously large gaps between the posts and our kids (toddler and preschooler) could push open the gates without even touching the childproof clasps because they were installed incorrectly. There is a five year warranty on product and ten year warranty on labor. We have had to pay another company to fix this mess.

Friendly crew. Fence looks great. Did not follow requirements of permit for one section of 8 ft. fence. Did not pass inspection due to details of permit. Waiting on call back from company on how it will be resolved (it's only been 5 days) Do not expect that crew will know permit details.

timely response and excellent work. work was completed in two days as posts had to set. returned phone call in 15 mins,came out next day for est and work was scheduled and completed within a week. they even fixed a gate that wasnt part of the work quoted. excellent crew.

They did a nice quality job and they were very fast as well they were in and out the same day and the fence looks great. Thank you Northland and Pat :)

The experience was alright. They were late on their original scheduled date for the installation but they kept to their quote. Their work was alright. It was just higher off the ground than what I told them that I wanted it to be.

Did not show up initially when they said they would. They did Install the fence and said they would come back to finish--make sure everything was tightened and paint the hardware to match the fence. Never came back and never responded to calls or emails. Have made several attempts over the last year (at least four calls since May). Fence is loose and dogs get out (the reason we got the fence). Much cheaper than other bids, but now we know why.

Contractors did not show up on the day they said they would, and did not call. Finally showed up and started the process of preparing the ground for the fence. I contacted the owner and stated very specifically that there was a bush in the back yard I did not want touched or removed in any way, and asked them to please fence inside the property line to avoid it. He agreed. They left my yard prepared but no fence for several days. One day I came home and the posts were up and half of my lilac bush (the one they were supposed to avoid) was cut down almost to the ground, and the other half was still up. I called to find out why they had done that, and was told that the guys had decided that is what had to be done and there wasn't anything to be done about it. Upon expressing my displeasure at them not doing what I was asking, and the eye sore at having half a bush in my back yard, I was told they'd fix it by removing the entire bush if I wanted them to. If I had wanted the bush removed, I wouldn't have told them to avoid it completely with the fence... The job was done three days late. I had to have a friend send me pictures of the completed fence, as I was out of town when it was finally done. I have half of a very large lilac bush on one side of my fence, and the half inside of my fence looks awful, cut to the root almost. (I was told not to worry about that, lilac bushes are "hearty and will grow back eventually".) They also didn't check for power or phone lines before digging to plant the fence posts...they cut my neighbor's phone line. Once spring came and I was able to inspect all the handiwork of northland fence, I found several areas of my yard where the chain link doesn't come anywhere near the ground...3" and 4" in some spots. I called and e-mailed and asked when they were planning to finish making the fence go to the ground, with no phone call back.

We contacted Northland Fence in March for a quote. Patrick promptly contacted us to discuss how his company does business and provide a quote. Since we had already received quotes from other companies we asked him to provide an apples to apples comparison based on the number of feet and gates we needed. He e-mailed us the quote the same day. Patrick?s quote was way less than the 3 other companies we contacted. Since Northland came recommended to us by a friend we decided to move forward with them. Patrick came out at an agreed upon date and time, did a complete measurement to ensure quote was accurate and we paid ½ down with a plan that work would be done around the 2nd week of April depending on weather. Patrick stayed in touch with us to discuss the weather/snow cover and when we both decided to move forward. They originally planned to start the work on 4/11/13 but we had a bad snowstorm so they started on 4/12/13. They completed the job on the following Monday (4/15/13). The crew did a great job and cleaned up well after. When we received the final invoice we had a question over the amount and once again Patrick promptly responded and fixed the invoice. We would highly recommend working with Patrick and Northland Fence.

Patrick was very responsive when it came to doing the estimate and the initial scheduling of the installation. He took a while to get the fence installed and missed the deadline I had set previously ( I had a lot of family coming into town and I wanted the work done prior to that, but he was unable to come out due to some scheduling conflicts and weather). All in all, it went up really fast and I love the fence. I get compliments all the time and it was absolutely worth the money. He had the best price estimate by far for the size and style of fence.

they did a pretty good job with the install, and customized to my situation (also very good price, as noted above), although they did not clean up very well, leaving dirt in my yard i had to clean up so it had a '5-year warranty' 2 years later 2 of the gate posts heaved and did not easily open. I called patrick and he came back to fix one of them. but he did not fix the other, as he said he would, and did not return the next 5 calls from me. I ultimately had to fix it myself. So the install was pretty good, but don't put any creedence in the warranty. if you want a warranty that is worth anything, go with a bigger company. I assumed they were out of business now, but ran across them on AList and thought i'd do a review.

Patrick came out promptly and gave me an estimate. It was 1K lower than another vendor. His employees showed up on time, worked hard and were respectful of my need to let my dogs out every two hours. The fence went up well and then they took down the inner chain link fence as I needed to wait to remove it until the new fence was up. This was high quality work, materials and management. I would ABSOLUTELY use this company again. I felt the value was well worth the finished product. Thanks Northland Fence!!!!

They were terribly cheaper than most places I got quotes from. As far as price is concerned they were the best. I would definitively not use them again in the future. They need to be turned into the Better Business Bureau because they are selling stuff that they are not completing the work on.

It took over a month. He had me order the materials. They were supposed to show up and unload the semi truck. They never showed up, so I did it myself. He said it would take three business days to install. They were suppose to come on Friday. He messed up on the order, and after they set up the posts I didn't hear from them for another three weeks. They were using a box cutter to cut the panels, so they damaged a lot of my product. I had to re-order and have another company install it. He basically threatened to come out and rip my fence down. I ended up having to pay $500 to dump the rest of the cement he left out in the rain.
