It went well. They showed up on the scheduled date, and were fairly quick. They had the best price point compared to the 3 other fencing companies that had provided a quote, so I’m satisfied with the job that was done. I’d recommend them.

The quoting process was easy and the representative was quick to come out with a quote. The fence installation was on the day that was setup. The final product is just as expected and looks great.

We were very pleased with the service from Northland Fence. They installed a black chain link fence around most of the yard with a vinyl fence/gates on the sides of the house for better curb appeal. The installers were on time and courteous and didn't leave anything behind. We did have an issue when the very last post they put in severed our cable line, but that was not their fault, USCI had not marked it properly. I would recommend their product and service

I highly recommend Northland for your residential fence project. From start to finish, the team at Northland provided timely, professional and friendly service. The final product is beautiful and very affordable. I have received many compliments from my neighbors, friends, and even the building supervisor for the subdivision commented on how great it looks. It compliments the style of my house and adds to the visual appeal of the neighborhood. My neighborhood is subject to HOA approval for all projects. So, although it took me all summer to negotiate design and placement of my fence with the HOA (given the unusual ‘pie shape’ of my lot, and haphazard placement of buried utility lines) Northland was understanding and accommodating. They patiently worked with me on the multiple design changes and delays resulting from the HOA approval process without any grief or added expense. They maintained an open, supportive and no-pressure line of communication. Once the final design was approved by the HOA, the Northland team was ready and handled the adjusted design without issue. The construction team worked with me on final placement and gate design, and offered helpful advice on other things to take into consideration. I especially appreciated that, given I am a newbie to Minnesota. Be sure to add Northland to your list of contractors when you get estimates for your next fence project. You will be happy you did!

It was a pleasure working with the entire team throughout the process. They were extremely prompt with communications and were extremely clear with the requirements to ensure the process went smoothly. The poles were installed exactly at the scheduled date and time and the fence was put up well before the deadline. All employees were professional, communicated well, and were super helpful. The final product looks incredible and we are so happy!

The fence installation went well. First they come and install the poles into the ground, then they return at a later date to install the fence. Northland was very patient with us as we appealed some city code relating to our fence installation. They were always prompt and professional when returning emails and phone calls.

Northland Fence's sales/support team were prompt communicators but their scheduling practices could use refinement. From start to finish, the fence took over 3 weeks and three different trips by their team, with each trip lasting less than 2.5 hours. Though they communicated this process multiple times, it was still frustrating. For being a $7,000 project the gate latches feel cheap and the gates don't always spring closed.

I initially got a quote from Midwest Fence since my neighbor used them and we wanted a matching fence. However, the salesman from Midwest Fence was so old-school/salesy/off-putting that we ended up looking elsewhere. And we sure are glad we did! The guy that came out to give us our estimate from Northland was on time, informative, and respectful of our time. He made sure we had the info we needed, but didn't ramble on and on and disparage all the other companies in town. Loved his explanation of the 10 year warranty and how they would actually stand behind it. Their price was comparable to others, and ended up getting another 5% off which made this the clear choice. Once the paperwork was signed and down payment completed, they gave us a date and time for initial post installation. That date and time came, and the installers were there right as promised. Super professional crew taking all the necessary COVID precautions and made sure we had the plan correct (yay for good communication!). They got the fence posts driven in without making a huge mess of the yard (beware of the companies like Midwest Fence who dig holes for each fence posts and pour cement - this will make a HUGE mess of your yard, damage the grass, and to add insult to injury they will leave you with a pile of dirt that you need to cleanup yourself). The next day, we received an email noting the fence would be complete on or before September 15th. We were anxious to get it in and hoped they would come early, but in the end they did finish on September 15th exactly as promised, so no complaints there! The end quality of the fence is great, and there is no damage to our yard. You wouldn't even know they were here. My neighbors yard is still recovering from the damage Midwest fence did when installing their inferior product. Also would like to call out their office staff for excellent communication - they kept us up to date throughout the process so we never needed to wonder where things were at. Highly recommended!

Northland fence did a great job putting in our new fence. Love the white vinyl. It was clean and smooth going. Only hard part was waiting.

We had a white vinyl privacy fence installed in our yard in place of an old chain link fence. Northland communicated with us every step of the way, and the price was competitive. We have received tons of compliments from our neighbors about how great the fence looks. Our backyard now feels incredibly private and secluded, despite living in the city. Northland was by far the cheapest out of 5 quotes (like 5k cheaper) and just as good quality as the same fence around the neighborhood. Very quick install and turn around time. Honor a military discount and a discount for paying in cash!

Excellent installation work on the fence at a competitive price. Everything happened exactly on the dates communicated. Really happy with how it turned out.

Overall, this experience was a good one. They were professional with everything and gave us realistic expectations from the beginning. We were given a 3-week time frame from start to finish and they come back to complete the job as they have time in the schedule. The project started on time and was completed on the very last day of our 3 weeks so I wish it would have been faster, but we were warned. I am also a person who likes to be kept in the loop so the lack of communication throughout was hard for me, but again, we were told that if we didn't hear anything, it was on schedule. So just go into the experience expecting that it will take the full 3 weeks and you won't have any communication from them. We love our fence and our dogs have already had a great time being free and playing so I wouldn't change our decision for anything.

There was over a month long waiting list, but when it was my turn the fence was completed in 2 weeks.

We have almost an acre and it was done quickly, and they were professional, and it looks amazing! The team was on-time, they explained what they would be doing. It was estimated that it might take 2 days to put in the fence posts, they were working really hard and they were done before the evening started. When they came to install the fence, that team also did a great and thorough job, they were quick. I thought it would be at least a couple days, but they were done before the afternoon was over. They didn't have any gates in stock that day, they notified me that it may be in the next day, which by the time I came home the next day, it was already installed and the entire fence was ready!

Northland did everything they said they were going to do. They were on time, professional and did great work. We would definitely hire them again!

They were extremely professional and well-organized, providing a lot of detail about exactly what they were going to do and when. What they offered appeared to be superior than the other bid I got: they place posts 8’ apart rather than 10’, and they drive posts in well below the frost line without using cement. I did have to do some things myself: obtain city permits, call for inspections, and locate lot corner pins, which in my case required paying a surveyor $450 for additional pins. The price was not out of line for what they did. The result looks great! The only minor complaint I have is that when they removed an old section of fence, they sawed the old posts off 2” above the ground, which created a hazard, so I used a saw to cut them down more to ground level. Overall, extremely happy with their work and would recommend.

Northland Fence was great to work with from the start. They have a very handy online tool that allows you to estimate how much your fence will cost by drawing a fence line around your property over a google earth image. It was pretty accurate, and relieved any sticker shock that could have come from an in-person quote. After I used the online tool, the contacted me almost immediately and setup an appointment with one of their estimators by the end of the week. He came out, and was very pleasant and walked me through everything I would need to know. Never tried to oversell me on anything. I received the final quote, and all communications were done through email with prompt responses. Just a heads up, it did take two months after the initial estimate for them to complete the work. I believe this is common with any fence company because I used a different fence company on my old house, and the timeline was similar. The installation was quick, and I am impressed by the end result. Price was better than other competitors, so I would highly recommend Northern Fence.
