Bona Bros Automotive Service

I always go to the same place. I had them do anything connected with my car oil changes mainly, it's a new car so I don't haven't needed anything else. But I have been going to them for probably 20 years. It cost between $25 and $30. They may belittle higher in price than maybe Jiffy Lube but they do such great work it is worth it. I keep going back because of their fairness, I trust them. Their location is very convenient. As a single woman with not knowing anything about cars, they absolutely don't take advantage of me.

They were very professional, courteous and friendly. I was pleased with the experience and the outcome. I would definitely us their services again.

They just do good work. I trust them with my vehicle. They're always available. I would absolutely use them in the future.

I didn't have it done there. They were a little high. They're very upfront and very honest.

The staff is GREAT!  So helpful, friendly and professional.  They did a thorough inspection, replaced the front brakes, rotated the tires, changed the oil, washed the car and even picked me up from my home to take me to their garage when the work was done!  Everything was completed in a reasonable amount of time and for less than I had expected as well!  I have gone to Bona Brothers for many years and have always been very happy with them. 

They have always been really good. It was relatively inexpensive and they did the work which was like you keep going back. They charged less than the other places. I was satisfied with them. I have been taking the car at any time.

They are awesome. They are just expensive.

This was actually for my sister, who has recently moved to the area and doesn't have an auto mechanic. Her old Prizm was making odd sounds. My thought was that it was the rear shock/strut assembly, since my old Prizm (since donated) was making the same sounds, and that turned out to be the struts. My sister took the car to Bona Bros. for an estimate, as well as to another car repair place in the neighborhood. Bona's price was a bit better, and she was really impressed with them.
They did the work promptly and for the estimate amount. She was also really impressed with their setup (especially their waiting area with large leather couches and the feel more of a library than an auto waiting area), and with the professionalism of the staff.
She brought the car back for a full brake inspection last week, and I went with her to pick up the car. I was also impressed with the waiting area, and with the gentleman who helped us. She is taking the car there this week for a brake job. Everything was fully explained to her in detail, and I agree that it was a very good explanation.
I would recommend Bona Bros. to anyone who lives in the Columbia Heights area.

Bona Bros is a little out of the way for me to go to service my car, when you consider there are no less than 7 different automotive shops/dealerships in about a 15 mile radius of my house. However, they are simply the best and I actually enjoy going there.
They always do top notch work at a reasonable rate and never recommend services your car doesn't actually need. The level of customer service is impeccable, you can tell these people care about their business and customers. It is locally and family owned, so another great reason to support them.
Also, they have the nicest waiting area I have ever been in, and I don't mean for an auto shop, I mean in general. Huge leather couches, built in wood shelves lined with books, a large table and chairs, free wi-fi and coffee. It is a really comfortable space.

We've been taking our vehicles here for service for three years now and have never been disappointed with the work. One thing we really like is that they are not constantly trying to sell you services you don't need like lots of the chain stores.

We use them a lot. What I like about them is the fact that they don't let a problem go unsolved. For their examination fee, they will find the problem that you're complaining about. We've been going to them since their dad ran their automotive shop. They're a bit on the pricey side but you get what you're paying for. They take high pride in their work.

Very well, explained everything very well, great customer service.

Very pleasant and friendly. Comfortable atmosphere. My first time there and felt they welcomed my business. Able to do the work right away and finished when they said they would. Cost seemed fair for the time it took, though I have nothing to compare. I would definitely go back for future needs.

Great experience. The guys at Bona Brothers treated us great and were professional about everything, including the work to be done. It didn't feel at all like a corporate store that pushes what they want to sell. They do the work that needs to be done and do it well

When my husband and I left home one day, our Volvo started to make some strange noises and then stopped running. We managed to get it back to the house and then later in the day to Bona Brothers who is just down the street from us. They decided that the part that was broken was a programmed part that is required to turn the car on and keep it running (I don't remember the part name). It was going to take a while to get the part in stock so they lent us a car to use while our car was in the shop. When they got the new part, the car broke down again during a test drive they did from the shop. They had to order the part again and everything looked okay. We paid $1500 for parts and labor, which was the amount that they had estimated before fixing the car. However, two weeks later, on a  Sunday outing our car broke down again. We had the car towed to Bona Brothers and waiting for them on Monday. They discovered that the part that they had just fixed had broken again and so they ordered another one and figured out that there was a wire shorting that was causing the part to break. They once again gave us a lender car to use while our car was in the shop. They also detailed our car while it was there.  After fixing it, programming the part, and making sure there were no additional problems they gave us our car back. We were worried that it was going to be expensive, but they didn't charge us anything. During this whole process, which took place over about a month and half, they were very helpful and always giving us updates. We were very happy with their services, especially their willingness to find the root of the problem.

They seem to really know a lot about cars. It took them two tries to fix it, but they didn't charge me extra for the second visit. It was a difficult problem, but they actually did a good job. The customer service was great.

Overall, the experience has been great. The mechanics will not give up on a problem. If you tell them of a problem, they'll keep looking until they find it. We've been going to them since they worked out of their dad's shop, about 25-30 years.
