Mark (foreman) was canvassing the neighborhood for jobs; their crew was working on other homes in the area. His original bid was $2300.  I had received other bids from $800 up to $5000 to remove the tree.  Rainbow was the service that wanted to charge $5000.  His crew arrived in about 10 minutes and it took about 2 hours to top the tree.  There were a lot of dead branches and bark coming off the tree and I think they did a great job.  The tree bordered neighbors yards on two sides but they managed to keep most of the branches in my yard.  Mark said they would come back the following day to finish the job but they did not.  I called and left a message in the afternoon asking for a call back, however, didn't receive a call back. I called again the following day at 9:30 am and Dan (owner) answered the call.  He said Mark had gotten ill and was supposed to have called me; he said the crew would be there in 45 minutes to finish the job.  They did arrive in 45 minutes and it took about 3 1/2 hours to clean the debris.  There was  a lot of bark and small dead branches to rake up; a job I would not have relished.  They even cleaned up the street where their chipper had been parked.  Mark did apologize for not calling me back and said he would come back later to fill any lawn dents with black dirt.   Dan (the owner)  was at the job site twice.  He never left his vehicle or even said hello.  I thought that was strange.  Mark was friendly and personable though.   Overall I am please with the service.

The company did some work for our neighbours and we decided to hire them as well to do some work later that day. However, they could not start the same day and we had to reschedule for the next day. I took a day off from work for the next day, but the guys did not show up! They would not return my calls either. I threatened them that if they cannot come within the next few days, the deal is off. The company showed up in a day or so. The work was very sloppy. I had to constantly be there and point out things that they were supposed to do, but were not doing. Many things were still missed. When they were almost done, they asked us for the money and said that they would come for the piles of wood the next day. I paid them $600 for the work done and told them that the rest would be paid after they complete the work tomorrow. The guys got really angry, I mean really-really angry and said they would not be coming to complete the work. Yet they intend to sue us for $200.
