Peterson Salt & Water Treatment

He was very prompt in returning my original call and was able to schedule for the next day. He came on time and the work was finished quickly. I was surprised when the invoice was only for the salt (plus tax), with no type of delivery or service charge.

I called on Thursday and got an appointment for installation Saturday morning. They replaced our old salt hog with a new efficient water softener. I looked up several companies on Angie's list prior to calling Peterson Salt and Water Treatment. Some of the more advertised companies were costing people much more for the same work. I am glad I used Angie's list.

Mr. Peterson was helpful and recommended a couple different products. Because he does most of his service in the West side of the Twin Cities and I live in Woodbury, he sent someone else to do the install. The plumber did a good job, was quick, clean, and pretty good. However, we agreed that they would take the old water softener. The plumber did not take the old softener I had to throw the old one away.

Mark was amazing! He figured out how to get around the problems that had stopped us from installing a softener before, located the pipes no one else could find, explained the system and how it worked, and got us a good price. He was also very personable, returned calls promptly, etc.

The owner even came back to bring some salt when the serviceman forgot to bring some.

When installed, the system delivered soft water to 1 of 3 outdoor spigots, with no soft water in the house, which I knew was completely wrong. The installer came promptly to redo the plumbing, but was short some 3/4'' pipe. I picked it up to save him time. When I stopped by the store to get reimbursed for the pipe, the installer said that he would have charged me more for the installation if he had known I expected to be reimbursed for the pipe, then offered to ''split the cost.'' Since Tom, the owner, had quoted a fixed installation price, there was no reason I should ''split the cost'' of fixing the problem. But life is short, so I left with 4 bags of salt, effectively splitting the cost of the pipe, rather than argue the point. I later discovered that the installer took a shut-off for an outside spigot and used it as a shut-off for the water softener, but I'll correct that problem myself. I trust that mine was an isolated experience.

Owner sub-contracted work to an unqualified subcontractor without my knowledge and refused to service the unit after subcontractor improperly installed unit. Furthermore, owner had receptionist return my call to inform me that they would not repair defective work. I had to hire another firm to fix defects. Extremely poor customer service.

Tom was on time and very polite. He indicated that the softener was working fine, and that no other work on the softener was necessary at the time. He filled the softener and only charged us for the salt; no service charge. I would highly recommend Tom and this company.

The company representative was wonderful. He accommodated our schedule by coming out early in the morning, was friendly, courteous, and new what he was doing. He was even nice to our 3 year old daughter who was fascinated by what he was doing! We love our new water softener and are going through so much less salt - we use to use about 4 bags a month, and now we use maybe one bag every 4 months and the water quality is consistently better than before. I would hire them again!

Good product, but service was only fair. Missed first appointment and installer was a separate fee from the water softener. Quoted price was correct, but had to pay two people. Tom knows his water softeners.

Very smooth. Called them on Friday, installed on Monday. In the initial call, we discussed different models, pros and cons, very objectively, no 'upsell', just a conversation about what we wanted. Installation was neat, on time. Everything was pretty painless.

The man came out and tested my water, delivered five bags of salt and told me everything I need to know about a water softener. He saved me a lot of money by not charging me for a service call. He also gave me advice on a reverse osmosis water system even though he doesn't service my brand.

They were very upfront about all fees, services, warranties, etc. I like the price the best and the fact that I could get a final bill quoted over the phone. The fact that they didn't try to sell us stuff we didn't need was also splendid!

They did exactly what they said that they would do. The plumber that performed the service asked if he could come a day early and arrived at the house before we did. Before installing the water softener, he advised us of the pros and cons to the location that we had picked out. It ended up costing an additional $50, but it was better than placing it over the sump pump. They answered all my questions and were very knowledgeable.

Called and spoke with Tom Peterson who talked with me about the type of water softener that we would need for our new house and family of 5. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. They were reasonably priced, and the installer was very polite and on time. I would highly recommend this company to anybody who is in the market for a water softener.

The telephone conversation that I had with the owner was enlightening and concise; the technician who performed the work was knowledgeable and very efficient. I highly recommend this group!

THE PETERSON'S WERE PROMPT IN RETURNING MY PHONE CALL. AFTER I EXPLAINED MY URGENT SITUATION, HE WAS HONEST WITH ME AND SAID HE COULDN'T MAKE A HOUSE CALL THAT DAY (LATE FRIDAY AFTERNOON) AND REFERRED ME TO ANOTHER COMPANY. IF I EVER HAVE PROBLEMS AGAIN, I WOULD CALL PETERSON'S FIRST.

THE GUY WAS VERY TIDY AND INSTALLED THE SOFTENER WITHIN AN HOUR AND DID AN EXCELLENT JOB-I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE WHO IS SICK OF "DISPOSABLE SOFTENERS" LIKE THAT LAST SIX MONTHS BEFORE THEY START BREAKING DOWN. WE HAVE HAD CONTINUOUS SOFT WATER NOW FOR A MONTH WITH NO INTERRUPTION AND NO BREAKDOWNS.

MARC, THE PERSON WHO INSTALLED THE SOFTENER, WAS TERRIFIC. HE WAS QUICK, CLEAN, AND WILLING TO ANSWER ALL OF OUR QUESTIONS. THE PEOPLE I SPOKE TO IN THE OFFICE WERE ALSO VERY NICE, BUT THE FOLLOW UP ON PHONE CALLS COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER. I HAD TO CALL MORE THAN ONCE TO GET AN APPOINTMENT SCHEDULED.

HE WAS ON TIME AND VERY HELPFUL. HE EXPLAINED ALL OF THE CYCLES A WATER SOFTENER GOES THROUGH, AND FIXED THE SOFTENER.

POLITE, PROMPT, PUNCTUAL, FAST SERVICE AND REASONABLE.

THE SERVICEMAN WAS ON TIME AND GAVE ME LOTS OF INFORMATION THAT WAS HELPFUL. I WOULD USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN.

I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. WHEN THE TECHNICIAN FINISHED WITH THE JOB HE STATED SEVERAL TIMES THAT IF I HAD ANY QUESTIONS OR PROBLEMS, I SHOULD BE SURE TO CALL THEM.

THEY WERE HELPFUL IN ALL POSSIBLE WAYS. THEIR PRICE BEAT EVERYONE ELSES AND THEY FOLLOWED UP ON A CONCERN WE HAD. I FELT THEY REALLY CARED ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMER, THEIR WORK AND THEIR PRODUCTS.

REALLY LIKE THESE GUYS. THEY GAVE ME A FAIR PRICE AND DISCOURAGED ME FROM BUYING MORE THAN I NEEDED. THEY WERE VERY CAREFUL IN THEIR WORK. I CHECKED THE WEB AND THOUGHT I GOT A GREAT PRICE ON A HIGH QUALITY UNIT.
