There are large spaces between the boards, many gouges throughout the entire floor, staples in the wood, slivering wood, and raised boards throughout that you can stub your toes on.
  We have contacted them many times on these issues. They hammered in the staples and filled the gouges with putty which look terrible but at least are not hurting our feet to walk on anymore.
  The humidity level in the house is at 40% and they have told us it is too dry. Although they have also stated that the humidity should range between 35-45%.
  Cliff, who filled the gouges and filled the staple holes with putty and was very nice to work with, told us that he thought the floor was terrible and said he would be angry also. He took many pictures on his cell phone while he was here. He also stated that they probably would not replace the floors like they should but would merely sand them and put a clear finish on them which would not fix the problem.
  We would like to get these problems with our wood floors rectified but Abbey Decorating has not followed up on our complaints yet and this has been going on for a year already.

We wanted to replace three rooms of carpet and vinyl on the main level of our house with all vinyl. We found Abbey's on Angie's List. We went to their store/showroom in Apple Valley. We talked to and got much needed help from Jane. She was very easy to work with. Abbey's had a lot of choices in all price ranges. We of course fell in love with what turned out to be premium vinyl. We had waited to the last minute to do this, but Abbey's was real helpful in getting "the ball rolling" for us. They worked to get everything done on our tight schedule. Gene did all the work. And work he did over three days. I can't say enough good thing about Gene. We hope to use Abbey's again!

My experience overall was excellent. First of all, the in-store help from Brenda was very good and she quickly pointed me to the type of product that I wanted so that I could make a decision easily. The installer was on time and did an excellent job. He was polite, professional and cleaned up the area when he was done. I would certainly return the next time I need flooring. 
The installer actually had to make two trips to the house as he found on the originally scheduled date that a leaking water valve on the toilet needed to be replaced before he could proceed.  No problems at all with the delay as they rescheduled as soon as a plumber made repairs.

Sales staff was knowledgeable and helpful in selecting product. Install date was delayed 1 week due to product not delivered to store on time and store graciously dropped over $300.00 from our bill to compensate for our added inconvenience.

It went very well. It took me a while to decide on color and which carpet to go with. Brenda helped immeasurably. We needed to put down Kilz due to pet accidents on the old carpet. They were able to pull up carpeting and pad one day and two days later after we put down the Kilz they put in the carpet. Lonnie and Tom put in the carpet and were very focused and did a fine job of putting in the carpet. Yes, I like the color I went with.

Their customer service and follow up was fantastic.  Brenda was our sales rep and she was terrific to deal with.  The scheduling was accurate.  I'm happy with the product and service.

Excellent. Somewhat more expensive than other places estimated, but the quality of the products, and the excellence of installation, actually made them a very good value. It starts with being able to take home 6 or 8 samples of products, and live with them for a week, and then come back and get even more. They really want you to be happy with your final selection, and are not pushy to get you to commit to something you may not be satisfied with a few months down the road. Jane was very helpful in explaining pros and cons of different products so that you could go home and do research on your own and have time to make decisions, without having any pressure to commit to anything. When the installation days came (it was done on 4 different days, to accommodate us for moving furniture), and they were scheduled to show up at 8AM, the latest any of the crews showed up was 8:05AM. That is as prompt as you can get. The installation people always listened to any special concerns we had (fresh paint on walls was still soft), and fully explained their installation methods to us to make sure we were comfortable with them. When we removed carpet from the stairs, we discovered 3 broken treads. The installer changed his planned installation sequence to accommodate me and give me time to repair the broken treads, and add additional screws through some of the floors, into the joists, to fix several squeaks. We had similar experiences with the sheet vinyl for the laundry and bathroom. The new shoe moulding wasn't just miter cut. They scribed and coped the corners, so the joints won't open up with the seasonal humidity changes in the house. When the engineered wood flooring was installed, instead of just dropping the original floor ventilation grates back in place, they installed custom oak sockets with oak grilles that were an exact color match to the oak flooring, and perfectly flush. It gave it a very finished look. On all 4 installations, there was almost no additional cleanup necessary after they left. They are very thorough when picking up after themselves.We still need to replace the first floor carpeting on about 600 sq.ft, and will definitely be purchasing from them again.My son bought a house two months ago, and had them replace carpet, sheet vinyl, and laminate flooring before he finished moving in and his experience was similar, down to the scribing of the sheet vinyl around all of the fireplace mortar joints. Excellent craftsmanship.

They were extremely helpful in choosing the tile and steered me to the cheaper route. The installation person was on time, did a good job, and was a nice guy. I was very pleased with the assistance I was given and the installation person. I was extremely pleased with the outcome.?

The best thing about our experience working with Abbey was making the entire process was very simple and answering all questions and concerns.  Jane was very effective in finding out what our needs were and showing us products within our budget and  met our needs.  She also did not show us so many options that we got confused.  This helped in removing anxiety about making a wrong selection.
Total estimates given includes EVERYTHING!!!  This was much appreciated as we have experienced having quotes, only to have add  ons not mentioned either in installation, removal, furniture moving.  Jane was very good in her questioning to find out exactly what was involved and needed to ensure that any factors involved were figured in to the quote. 
Matt showed up on time  to install the hardwood and tile flooring and was professional, hard working, polite and answered any question that we had.  Could not of had a better installation.

Abbey Decorating obviously is a team that is ready on all fronts to handle your needs and goes the extra mile to ensure you are satisfied.

They did great work and I would recommend them. I had one issue and it was resolved.

Very well.  When the installer came in he was surprised because he thought the underlayment would already be installed and it wasn't.  He made some phone calls and somebody arrived in an about an hour with the underlyament material.  Which the installer proceded to install.  He worked all day on Friday and came back early Saturday morning to finish up.  He said he normally doesn't work on Saturdays, but because there was a mix up on the installation of the underlayment, he wanted to make it up for me.    When my contractor came in Monday morning, the first thing he looked at was the linoleum on the landing to the basement.  The "grout lines" on the landing linoleum matched up with the "grout lines" on the linoleum in the kitchen.  He said that is a sign of a good installer.  That is something I would have never noticed.    The installer went above and beyond to make up for the miscommunications between the salesman and the installation people.

2/28/2012  I noticed a "V" shaped slice in my new linoleum.  I called the installer and two days later he shows up at my house and put glue in the slice for free!  He said he didn't want a bad review on Angie's List.  Ah, the power of Angie's List!

Arrived exactly on time.  Proceeded to remove old carpet, tied it up  and removed it to disposal site.  By 2:00 the installation of new carpeting was completed with no trace of our having to clean things up.  Furniture we included for moving was replaced accurately and efficiently.  The installers were extremely personable but wasted no time in completing their job.

We decided to replace the carpet in our house after 25 years.  We looked at Home Depot and Empire, but also Abbey Decorating.  The sales person at Abbey was very knowledgeable and attentive, unlike HD.  We were allowed to take some samples home and once we decided, they scheduled installation within 2 weeks.  The men came on time and vacuumed the rug when they left.

Costumer service in the store was great, I had to test many samples to find the exact flooring I wanted and Jane was very helpful. I did have to call back a couple times to get scheduled but they were able to get us in fairly quickly once we made contact. The new vinyl in the bathroom looks great. Our carpets were badly needing to be stretched with many ripples and they turned out much better than we had thought they would. We were very happy with the finished product and would use them again.

The entire process was great! We had friendly service and helpful guidance in selection of carpets, were kept informed about delivery and installation times (we were on a tight schedule), and we were pleased with the great job done by the installer as well. We would definitely go back, and have already recommended them to a few friends.

I looked them up on Angie?s list to look at their ratings. I heard about them through a cousin who recommended them to me. I thought their pricing was good. Their workmanship was excellent. They did an excellent job. They were very professional. Everything was done in a timely manner. They showed up on time, and they worked very quickly and effectively. Everything was done very well. They were very friendly and helpful. Their quality of work was very high. I recommend them highly. They have a good selection in their showroom. The people were very helpful in the showroom and all the installers were very professional and courteous.

Our initial meeting was good. The showroom is large with lots to choose from. They were helpful during the selection process in choosing the right colors, padding, etc. We chose samples and waited for a call back with prices. They didn't follow up. Almost every conversation we had with them had to be initiated by us; we left voicemails for our rep. and would hear back a few days later. Cost estimates we finally received were incomplete and very confusing. Just before installation, we discovered rooms that should be wood were ordered as carpet. Abbey apologized, ordered the replacement material, and charged us close to the cost. The actual installation went well. Subcontractors Midwest Wood Works was great to deal with. The biggest problem came with billing. We put a $3500 deposit on our credit card, and the day of final installation, Abbey tried to put the $4953 on the same card without telling us, maxing out the card. We were expecting a final detailed bill but didn't receive any.
