My furnace died--on a Sunday, of course! It was cold last weekend, and I began desperately calling HVAC service companies in the area. Some didn't even have voice mail outside regular business hours. I left some voice mail messages where available but no one called me back until Monday. Jeff from Climate-Tech answered the phone. AND he came out a couple of hours later to assess the situation. He assured me he would have a new furnace up and running the next day. He gave me several options and did not pressure me to choose any particular one--told me to think about it and call him later with my decision. He also gave me some great advice about how my dogs and I could stay warm overnight. Jeff and his son Joe installed my new furnace on Monday, as promised. They were professional and left the furnace area spotless. Their prices were reasonable too. Friends were amazed that I got a new furnace installed within 24 hours in the dead of winter. I would--and WILL--hire Climate-Tech again. Excellent service!

If it had not, I would have been looking at buying a new furnace, and have been advised to think about replacing mine in the not too distant future. I originally called and left voicemail mid afternoon. I would have appreciated a callback that same day or evening so I could make arrangements to be home for the repair person. I was called back the next morning and made an appt, which worked ended up working out ok. Very personable, advised thinking about new furnace, but completed repair and was not pushy about making a sale. Will highly consider when I do end up replacing it.

When I called I left a message and received a return call quickly. (just a side note I do not like calling a company and receiving a voice mail service) They informed me the service call charge and how long it would take for someone to come to repair the problem. The service person called me prior to arriving to let me know when he would be arriving.
Once at my home he was quick and professional. He also gave me a few suggestions on what to do to repair what might be future trouble.
There was only one problem the service charge did not go towards the cost of repairs. To reattach two wires which took approximately 15 minutes cost me 150.00 a little steep.
He was courteous and professional and kept me informed of what was going on.

Response from CLIMATE-TECH HEATING & COOLING
"Thank you for the review. It is important for others to understand that some other company installed the new furnace (not Climate-Tech) and when the other company was unable to help, Climate-Tech was contacted to help with the A/C issue."

They were able to respond on short notice to my call for help with a dead gas furnace. Went over what they found with me, and gave me several options for the repair. Fixed the furnace and cleaned it up quickly, all while being very polite and professional, and at a very reasonable price.

They turned on our furnace pilot light. They kindly showed me how to turn it on by myself. They also checked the furnace to try to determine how the pilot light went out. They recommended changing the filter once a month. They were very courteous.

In addition to replacing a bad part, Jeff cleaned some and quot;gunkand quot; out of the furnace hoses (apparently this is supposed to be done annually - who knew?). The furnace started right up after he installed the new part and the house is now toasty warm.

When I got back from vacation, I found that our 23-year-old air conditioner had quit working. Jeff Bramlett was on vacation when I called. One of his sons returned my call promptly and stopped by the house to give me a repair estimate ($550) and to recommend that I replace my A/C instead because, at that age, some other part of the A/C would be breaking sometime soon. In addition, the new unit would be more energy efficient, quieter, and less costly to run. The appointment was scheduled for six days later at the earliest available time slot. Jeff and his sons Bill and Joe arrived right on time and did the job cheerfully and efficiently, replacing parts both outside and inside. When the new A/C didn't work, they found the cause - a water leak that had damaged the condenser. They showed me where the problem was and did a great job of answering all of my questions. They went for parts right away and had the condenser replaced the same morning. We were very pleased with the service!

I called Climate -Tech Monday morning and left a message. They returned my call about one hour later. We arranged a service call for the next day in the morning. The next day, Climate Tech called around 9:00 AM to confirm I was home and arrived about 9:45. Both father and son (family business) came to the call. They confirmed what my service request was, asked me to attempt to turn on the AC unit, and proceeded to the AC unit at the back of my home. They were alarmed at first when the furnace blower came on, thinking I had turned on the heat instead of AC. I assured them that it was on AC so they proceeded to inspect the unit. by pulling off the electrical cover and ran some current checks. It became apparent that no current was flowing through the contactor switch. A closer inspection revealed that a small earwig (half inch long) had crawled inside the switch and apparently shorted it out. They replaced the switch and the unit came back to life. Both father and son were very personable, chatting with me as they worked, showing me the earwig as they pulled it out and retested the switch to see if it would now work (it did not). They completed the installation of the contactor, billed me, put the charge on my credit card, and left around 10:15.
The cost breakdown for the service call was as follows: Service call fee - $65; Part cost - $89; Labor cost - $60. Climate-tech was not aware of the 5% discount coupon available to Angie's List members, but once I showed it to them, they willingly honored it, saving me $10 off the bill.
All in all, it was a pleasant experience other than having to pay for a repair caused by an insect. I blame that on a poor AC electrical box design by Carrier/Payne. Hopefully the more encased contactor used by Climate Tech will prevent this from happening again.

Great! Service was on-time, professional and at a very competitive price. This is a family owned and run business in the Ann Arbor / Saline / Ypsilanti area, which was a main reason I selected them. I will use them in the future as well as recommend them.

I called Climate-Tech at around 11 in the evening after discovering that my water heater was leaking from the top of the unit. I received a return call bright and early the next morning. Jeff asked a number of detailed questions, including a description f the problem, the location of the water heater, its age, model, etc. It was in the basement, and my phone dropped the call once I got down there. Jeff called me back within minutes to finish the discussion.
We set up an appointment for 10 a.m. that day, and Jeff told me the make and model of the water heater that he would be using to replace mine. He quoted me the price of the unit, and an estimate for the labor. About an hour later, I received another call from Jeff. The model he had intended to use was not available from his vendor, so he wanted to inform me of the change. There was no change in price for the other unit.
The crew arrived precisely on time. They were courteous and friendly, and took great care when moving the new unit to the basement, and removing the old one - no marks on walls or floors. They worked swiftly and efficiently, finishing the entire job (arrival to departure) in about one hour.
They did a professional, high-quality job, and I have recommended them to a number of colleagues at work. Well done, guys!

When the A/C died on the hottest day of year (to that date, 98 F), I called Climate-Tech and left a message. It was a holiday (Memorial Day), so I didn't expect a call back...but I got one, about 45 minutes after leaving my message.
Climate-Tech +1.
Jeff (owner) came out the NEXT day (Climate-Tech +2) and confirmed my suspicions...the 30+ year old motor had given up the ghost. He was willing to replace the dead motor, but, in good conscience, could not recommend it, given the age of the unit. He suggested a 2.5 ton replacement (good for up to 2000 sq ft) for $2400 plus permit fees, and I agreed.
Really, though, had I asked him to replace the 33 year old motor, he would have done it. There was NO pressure.
Two days later, he and his crew came out and replaced the Green Beast (circa 1979). They got the job done in about three hours, as estimated, and all has been well since the installation. The added bonus was that, as was the case in February when they replaced a bad ignitor on my furnace, the whole crew was polite, friendly and conscientious about my overly curious cats when going in and out the doors and when they felt the need to supervise the operation.
Kudos. And thanks for the cool (and more importantly, DRY) air!

The owner of the company came and diagnosed our A/C problem and fixed it in under 2 hours - and at a very reasonable price. Note: It had been a weekend in the upper 90's and in response to my weekend call of:"Help! No AC!", he came first thing on Monday morning. I run a business from my home, and have computers and servers that 'aren't happy' when they have to 'suffer' in the heat. Additionally, I'm personally very sensitive to extreme heat, so I was totally grateful for his prompt, courteous, and economical service.I've used Climate-Tech before - for both heating and cooling repair - and have always been extremely pleased. This time around I asked if I should have annual checkups and servicing and he told me that "no, the problem wouldn't have been avoided with annual servicing, and it would be a waste of money to do annual AC servicing". I appreciate his honesty, as I'm sure that a number of other companies would have jumped on the "you need annual maintenance" band wagon.I'm a little delinquent in getting this review posted, but continue to remember the friendly, speedy service. I'll rely on them for my future needs.

Jeff came the next day after calling for service on our thermostat. Jeff suggested a programable thermostat to save money on our heating and cooling costs. A programable thermostat was installed and the service call lasted about 40 mins. This suggestion drastically cut our heating and cooling bill.
