Description of Work: Dennis arrived on time and rebuilt the top of my chimney. After the chimney he replaced approx 22 bricks on the front of my house. He cleaned up and hauled away all debris.

Description of Work: Swapped two windows and tuck pointed chimney. Did a nice job, cleaned up after himself, pleasant and low pressure.

Description of Work: Was looking for a local Livonia contractor to replace the top third of my chimney. Called and spoke to Dennis and he committed to provide a quote. 1 week went by and I heard nothing. Called him back and he could not find the paperwork. Said he was real busy. Wanted me to explain the job requirements again. Obviously the first time was not important to him to keep track. Too bad as I always try to use local business.

Description of Work: Called Dennis about my problem - broken glass brick and verified that he could do the repair. He was very up front with everything and I felt comfortable speaking with him - no hardsell or over promising. He came by to take a look at the problem and gave me an estimate which was reasonable and gave me a written quote. Despite his busy schedule, he was able to fit me in sooner than he first estimated (at my request). So I appreciated his flexibility and responsiveness to my request. Dennis came by to do the job today as scheduled and did an excellent job - knew what he was doing, did the job, cleaned up, in and out in less than an hour. Would definitely call him back if I have any brick related problem in the future. Thanks Dennis!

Description of Work: Dennis had done repair work on our chimney in 2010, and the work was great. He replaced the flash and counterflash pans and did significant tuck-pointing repair from the rooftop up, and we haven't had any water coming into the basement (from the roof, where the chimney adjoins with the house) since then. Wonderful. He performed a similar service for my mother's house in Dearborn Heights this year (2011), and again, my mother reports no leaking of water from the roof-chimney adjoin into the ductwork, down the sides of the walls, etc. For this job, Dennis removed the old fireplace stack from off the roof--to below the roofline--and then 'patched' the hole completely. Excellent. We weren't using the fireplace, and the old, curled flash pans at the base were beginning to admit water in during heavy rains, so it was time to remove this. What worried me most was the restoration of that portion of the roofline, to make it look as if the stack had never been there. As no one in the immediate future even asked 'Hey, what happened to the blue fireplace stack?', I knew he'd gotten it right. Mr. Gardner does fantastic work, is a most genuinely friendly man, and I highly recommend him to anyone in need of chimney/roof repair work. And bless his heart, he followed up with my elderly mother, giving her repeated calls after rains to see if everything was clear and dry, and reminding her to call him for a come-back at the very first sign of a leak return.
