Sub contractors made errors that resulted in expensive cost over runs and time delays. All work was eventually completed to our satisfaction but it took a very long time to be completed.

The estimate went great.  Then two weeks went by without hearing anything after we had paid our deductible to them.  We finally got a call saying that they were having trouble finding the exact color of siding but they had now found it and they were good to go ahead.  Three MORE weeks went by, I had already had three more contractors out to bid on the work and was ready to move when one day they just showed up to do the work.  I had no idea they were going to be there that day and therefore couldn't wait around while they did the work.  My wife was at home because she had JUST given birth a week ago.  The work seemed great and they appeared to get done quickly according to my wife.  I get a call three days later from someone demanding that I give them the balance of their payment, because my wife did not have the check from the insurance company on hand when the work was completed.  I told him that I had deposited the check into my account as I had no response from them, and was getting ready to move on with a different company.  He was angry and demanded that we have a check available to him within 48 hours.  I told him that we would have the check ready the next day, and he needed to provide the final invoice. He shows up the next day, hands an invoice to my wife who gives him a check.  I get home and see that he had charged us almost $2900, when the estimate was only for $2100.  Going over budget by 40% REQUIRES some heads up in my book.  I'm currently working with my insurance company to get re-imbursed for the balance, however the invoice is NOT detailed.  It merely was SIDING WORK.  NO cost breakdown AT ALL. 
The work is pretty good, but horribly unprofessional, TERRIBLE communication, and they WILL screw you over on the cost.  Beware.

Every different group of guys did their work professionally and everything looked fantastic. You can trust these guys.
