Excellently.  John and his crew gave me BY FAR the best price of anyone, by at least $500.  I strongly recommend them.  He showed up a liiiittle bit late and forgot some of his equipment and had to go and come back once, but that really didn't matter.  The only reason I'm mentioning that is so that future customers don't take a bit of absentmindedness as an indication of his workmanship, because he's totally worth hiring.  He was super courteous, did great work, did a LOT of work and threw in a couple of last minute requests for cheap or nothing.  I was impressed at first by the slick sheen of some of the other companies, but not by their $1800 bids, when John did it for $1150.  They offered to underbid him, which to me just means they didn't need to bid $1800 in the first place, so why would I let them get the job when John had integrity in the first place?  Glad I hired him, will do it in the future, and have already recommended him to neighbors, who have also hired and been pleased with his work.

I am very pleased with the work done by John and his assistant. The first time I called he was available and came out the same day and gave an estimate that was fair and reasonable. The service didn't happen the first day we arranged but it's understandable that some jobs can run over. John was responsive and honest about the reason for not being able to keep our original appointment and I appreciate and respect that. John called to let me know when he was available to do my job. He was prompt and did an amazing job in a short period of time. His cleanup was phenomenal. All branches were removed and he even used the leaf blower to removed the residual leaves left behind. I am extremely pleased and would call him again and recommend his services to others.

John and his crew did a fantastic job. The first tree they took down was probably 3 times the height of my 2 story house. It had a 17 foot diameter at the base and was right between mine and my neighbors house. It was huge and I was sad to see it go. But when it came down, it was rotten through the middle. They worked at it very systematically and controlled every step of the way. It was thrilling and amazing to watch them work. Nothing came down on either house or on my neighbor's driveway (mine was being replaced). The second tree was broken at about the height of my house before I bought the house. When the tree broke the top of the broken piece fell and was lodged in a dead tree in another neighbor's yard (on the other side of my fence). And the bottom of the broken piece remained lodged in the tree where it broke. The effect was a very large square with the ground being the bottom side of the square, the broken top of the tree forming the top side of the square (parallel to the ground), my neighbors dead tree one side and the still living base of my tree the fourth side. This gigantic square was taller than my house and just as wide. To complicate things, my wood fence was directly below it. John and his crew brought this mess down without damaging my fence or anything else. They removed large trunks from 2 trees growing over the spot of my new garage. One of the two trees was as tall as the first tree. They trimmed another 3 or 4 large trees growing over my house. Then they cleaned everything up and took the wood with them. They were very professional and polite. My only complaint was with the subcontractor John hired to grind the stump and in all fairness it was a huge stump and he couldn't see it very well with all the wood chips created by the grinder. He didn't grind the stump down far enough and had to come back which he did within 2 days of my call to John. Would I hire them again?? You bet! Without hesitation!

John was very professional and showed when he said he would. He followed up to make sure everything was done as expected. He cleaned up after himself and there was minimal damage to other plantings in the yard. The price was reasonable and fair. I would definately recommend him.

The crew was able to come on on Labor Day, the Monday after I called for an estimate. I had been concerned that the tree wouold damage my neigbor's garage - it was alrelady leaning over it. They removed the tree in my backyard, did a great job cleaning up and removed al lthe debris.

They removed the damaged branches from my neighbor's tree, hauled away the debris and let them know that the rest of the tree was healthy. Other contractors had wanted to remove the whole tree.

We both couldn't be more pleased with the work done and will call on them for future work.

There were many branches hanging into our back yard from the neighbor's trees. I checked on Angie's List and found a good review from someone in Royal Oak, Mi. for Tree Max. I called and talked to John and he came out the same day to do an estimate. He told me it might be a week or two and I was fine with that. He called to let me know a couple of times that he would still be d*** the job. We love the way the guys got rid of all the branches, and our back yard looks great! John offered to haul away the bigger pieces of wood, but I wanted to keep them to burn in our chimnia. I definately recomend Tree Max for quality service.

Spoke with John who was responsive and professional. He was very polite, kept in touch when there was a delay due to weather and
cleaned up when the job was completed. I would definitely recommend TreeMax to friends and family.

Called Treemax and John came out the next day to quote removal of the tree. The quote was done over the phone as the house is in Royal Oak and I live in Waterford. Quoted price was very reasonable. I asked John about payment arrangements and he said he preferred to have me look over the job after completion to make sure everything was done to my satisfaction before paying. A time frame of about 3 days was quoted to get to the job due to the amount of work they had due to the recent storm. They were not able to make it in that time frame. John did call and apologize for not being able to make it to the job in the time frame originally planned. He did call me Saturday to tell me they finally got the tree cut down. I went to the house tonight. They did exactly what we agreed to over the phone. Cleanup was nicely done and the wood removed. The job went very well overall and at a very reasonable price.

From the very beginning, we were able to get an estimate within a few days and he scheduled the tree removal around a date that was satisfactory for us. We would recommend Tree Max and the owner, John, to anyone who is looking for quality work and a far price in this area.

The contractor performed the service as described but failed to indicate that they would not haul away any debris. When contacted, I was informed that was not included in the service. I expressed concern about the cleanup and was told that that was a landscaping problem. However, someone would come out to assess the situation and give a quote to resolve the issue, but it never occurred. In addition, when the job was completed, the workman did not give me a receipt or invoice, indicating that he would have the owner send one in the mail. Again, it did not happen. I was very dissatisfied since I hired them solely based on the Angie's List recommendation.

I called Treemax on Thursday May 27 ( Memorial Day weekend!), and the owner came came over that day at 4:00:P.M., right on time, to estimate the job. I agreed to the price and he said they'd be over Tuesday or Wednesday and would call to confirm. A gentleman called on Tuesday morning to come over at 1:00 PM. He was there on time and was so professional. The job was over in about 45 minutes and everything was well cleaned up. They did a great job!

On 2/20, I call Treemax for a quote. The owner, John, answered immediately, took down my information and was out to our house within a couple of hours to give me a quote. His price was reasonable and John said he could come out the next day to perform the work. John and his crew arrived right on time. Before beginning the work, John reaffirmed which branches I wanted removed. He even suggested removing another limb to make the tree look more symmetrical, but didn't charge me extra. He and his crew were done within an hour and a half. They cleaned up very well. I would definitely use their service again.

Very well. I received quotes from 3 companies before going with TreeMax. His quote was the least expensive and he actually made an appointment to meet with me in person to go over the projects and give recommendations rather than just stopping by the house when we're not home and leaving a quote in our door like the other companies did. His crew worked very quickly (they were in and out in under 2 hours I believe), and cleaned up everything (raked, carted away all debris). They also left us some firewood from the limbs we had removed as we requested. The cost was exactly the amount of the quote.

I used this company once before with a great experience so I called again for this job. Once again they were prompt in calling me, professional, did a great job and gave a reasonable price. My neighbor was also impressed and came out to get his number for an estimate. The left the property very clean. Real nice guys too.

A part of the tree in my backyard fell during a recent storm. My husband, brother-in-law and myself cut up the fallen piece and left it in the yard. We felt it would be best to have the entire tree removed as it overhung our and our neighbors garages. I called Tree Max on Monday July 27, 2009. (The tree branch fell Sunday.) Mr. Akins came out the same day and gave me an estimate of $700 which included cutting down the remainder of the tree, hauling away all debris including the existing pieces we had cut up, and grinding down the tree stump . After checking with other companies, we decided to go with Tree Max. The work was scheduled for Thursday of the same week at 9 am. That Thursday, Mr. Akins called at 8:15 am and said that he was running behind and would arrive at about 10 am. Once he got here (with 2 helpers) he went right to work. The complete job was finished in 6 hours. The grindings from the tree stump were left behind and I used it to mulch my garden. Mr. Akins worked straight through, only stopping to haul away debris. He was professional and did not require payment until the job was completed. It is good to see in these tough economic times that you can still get a reasonable price for a job well done. Who said customer service is dead?

John and his crew showed up when they said they would and wasted no time getting to work. While John was cutting down the dead cherry tree, another worker trimmed some branches overhanging the house while a 3rd worker cleaned up the debris. They were very quick, very clean and very reasonably priced. I would recommend them to anyone needing tree service.

He came very shorty after the call was made. He arrived in the morning and gave me an estimate. Told me he could have it down the next day as he would be in the area. He came as promised and cleaned up. My husband did not know he was coming (my fault) and there was no check here for him. He was so good about it. Just told me to mail it which I did promptly. I have nothing but good to report.

We were pleased with the finished product. The lawn is small to begin with, so we'll most likely have to sod in the spring, but we were happy with the results considering the price and scope of work done. We'd definitely hire them again for a similar service.

The crew arrived on time and immediately started getting their equipment ready. This tree was REALLY BIG and I was very nervous about them hitting my house or being injured. However, they were very capable and very safety conscious. I couldn't believe how well they did climbing up to the very top of that TALL tree. The job took a full day, as expected. John was good enough to not only cut up the wood and stack it, but to cut several pieces to an exact size for a sculptor who wanted wood of a specific lenghth and width. The next day the stump grinder came and did a good job of grinding the stump. They also brought in a large flatbed to carry away the gigantic pieces of the tree. They were willing to carry away all of the wood, but I wanted to put it up for grabs on Freecycle and Craig's List so it would be reused. The wood was all picked up by people for firewood within 2 days. I appreciated John's cheerful, pleasant personality.
