Attic Insulation & Ventilation Pro's

I had this company out a little over a year ago and forgot to write a review. It was the second time I hired them, as I was very pleased the first time. George travelled a long way to look at an area in my roof/attic where bats were getting in. He took care of the problem quickly and for a more than reasonable price!

Very pleased with the work done by George. Oringally he came to do the estimate and took lots of time explaining to me what needed to be done for a properly functioning attic (both from an insualtion and ventilation perspective). After looking at the space he provided a quote and explained. Booked the work and he arrived a week later right on time with another and started working. George and his assistant worked straight for 6hrs to finish the job and cleaned up after themselves. Overall, im very happy. Before the insualtion upgrade, the upstairs room of my bunglaow was consistently ~5deg colder than the thermostat downstiars. After the work (even these really cold days) the upstairs is now 1deg cooler than the thermostat downstairs. Quite an improvement! If you looking to upgrade insulation of your attic, don't look anywhere else.

They did everything perfectly. They came when they said they would, cleaned up after themselves. They were extremely honest. The charge was half of what another company was going to charge because the other company was going to charge for protecting ceiling can lights from the insulation when they already had the protection. Be careful out there or you may be taken for a lot of money unnecessarily. This was an outstanding job by a really nice man. I would highly recommend this company.

George came out and gave me an estimate for the job shortly after I called him. A previous contractor suggested I have a complete new roof installed.. George saved me a lot of money. The crew arrived on time for the appointment and worked until the job was finished. They did everything they were supposed to do, and cleaned up after they were done. I was surprised they could work on the roof since it was shortly after our big snowfall. They did an awsome job, and workers were very personable. I would definitely recommend this company.

I was having the 28 year old shingle roof replaced and at the time wanted the ice damming problem I would have every year fixed. Attic Pros Attic Insulation & Ventilation was recommended by the roofing contactor as being the experts in fixing the unique problem I was having with my 28 year old custom built 2 story home. I called Owner, George Zentz, who came out as scheduled and reviewed my dead air space and made recommendation to fix the area in question. He also provided a breakdown of other areas to improve ventilation and well as adding additional insulation. He also explained the additional insulation would receive a $125 rebate from Consumers Gas which I received on my next gas bill. George also provided me with the website to order a insulation mat to cover the whole house fan to stop heat lost during the winter. I contracted with Attic Pros to do all the work. They were scheduled to do there work before the roofing contractor. The roofing contractor wanted to move their schedule up to the day Attic Pros was scheduled. George said that it would not be a problem. He and a employee arrived and completed their work in approximately 4 hours. I was very pleased with Attic Pros quote, scheduling and performance. I have already notice that the second floor is warmer due largely to the added insulation and the very low cost insulation cover for the whole house fan. We had George out to evaluate insulating and ventilating our attic, which is specifically a bungaloo-style knee wall space. There are lots of options for insulating this type of space. George reviewed all the options, which lined up with what we had researched on our own. After spending considerable time with me and evaluating all aspects of the space, George concluded that the best option would be to foam the roof deck rather than the floor and knee wall. This meant going with foam, which is not provided by ATTIC INSULATION & VENTILATION PRO'S. In other words, George made an honest evaluation of our attic and then decided the best option was one he doesn't provide. This represent the absolute ultimate in professionalism and integrity. He was quite easy to talk to and clear in his explanations. In a heartbeat, I would recommend him to others.

I asked George Zentz for a quote on 1-replacing improper kitchen range hood duct with one actually venting outside the attic and, 2-replacing the cheesy plastic flexible ducting used on two bathroom fans, all to get insulated, rigid metal duct. After his inspection he showed me that, although my home is only nine years old and seemed to be well insulated, my attic insulation was less than it should be. He offered two quotes, upgrade to R49 (where it should have been) or to R60. George provided pricing on an attic ventilating fan, controlled by both thermostat and humidistat as well as labor to replace bathroom fans which I had told him I was considering. In the end I had him add the missing roof vent for the kitchen fan, install rigid insulated metal duct for all three fans, upgrade insulation to R49, and install two bathroom fans which I provided. George and his working partner Mark arrived dead nuts on time, ready to go. I took note of how careful both were to avoid damaging my home and the steps taken to avoid creating a mess - no easy task when working with blown-in cellulose insulation when the only attic access is through the master bedroom closet. They explained what they were doing as things progressed and seemed happy to answer my many questions. It was obvious that these two have worked together for a while as their activities were well choreographed. Despite that, they were at it non-stop for seven hours. When they were done they cleaned up what little mess that had been created. Honestly, my bathroom was cleaner when they left than when they arrived. I don't think the cost of this work was so low that I somehow got the better of George. He is in business and is a smart guy. I do think he did good work for me at a fair price. That might be a pretty fair description of a good deal. ***** UPDATE JANUARY 5, 2014 ***** It has been very cold the last two weeks, -15F last night, -8F right now. In previous years if the temp was below 20F for more than a day, my neighbors' homes and mine, all built by the same builder, would have icicles. That meant enough heat migrated to the attic to melt snow on the roof. Those neighbors both have lots of icicles full length of their homes. I have NOT A ONE. Thanks, George.

We had a great experience with Attic Pros. They put in an attic fan, insulation and installed new attic vents (our originals were all painted over, not allowing air to flow). The response to install was timely. When they arrived, they were professional and courteous. They found a few issues in the attic which didn't take much time to fix themselves while they were up there and didn't push extra fees. Overall, a great experience. Would recommend them to others.

George was great! Upfront and honest about all the details and never pressured me to purchase his services. In addition, the two individuals that performed the insulation were great! They were early, courteous, and answered any question I had. I highly recommend Attic Pros.

George came and gave me a quote for the job, and was very good about returning my calls when I had questions. The day of the appointment, the guys came and completed the work, and they cleaned up afterward.

He explained everything they were going to do. He even came out on a Sunday because I was in a little bit of a bind and was trying to sell my house at the time. His team then came out later that week and they were very professional. They did all of their work by going up through a bedroom window and didn’t really bother my house. They also went in through an entrance in the garage. They did a mold remediation on the attic. Installed an attic fan, took out any installation that had mold on it, and repaired some of the soffits. They were very professional and George was very nice. I know he would always be willing to help if I had question.

Called ahead to schedule arrival and then when the weather report went up in temperature to above 90 degrees called again to request permission to start early (7AM). Arrived on time and did a great job. As it turned out the job required more blown in insulation than was estimated but the team did what was necessary and finished the job and told me that was still included in the cost I was quoted. I am very happy with the team and the job I would hire them again to insulate my home.

George came out and gave me a quote the same day I called. He did the work the next day. My only issue with the installation was some of the blown material was not cleaned up.

I am still trying to decide if I can afford to do it. They seemed knowledgable and that they knew what they were talking about. I brought them out for a quote due to other reviews. I was pretty impressed with the quote and his knowledge on what needed to be done. He confirmed what I thought needed to be done.

The job went very well. Very professional crew and installation.

Found Attic Insulation & Ventilation Pro's on Angie's List based on several other great reviews. I can see why as they certainly lived up to the hype. George called to let me know how far away he was, which was appreciated greatly. Arrived right when he said he would on the phone. Came in and listened to the issue and diagnosed it immediately and knew exactly what to look for. He happened to have to correct size ducting in his truck and was able to remove the old and replace with new within an hour. George was very friendly and went above what was expected. Really great to have an expert who also understands how to treat the customer right. Could not recommend more highly!

I had been searching Angie's List for a couple of years to find a contractor to help with a hot attic. It was not until I saw the AtticPros truck in my neighborhood and plugged in their name on Angie's List that I discovered good reviews from Angie's List members. George came out shortly after the initial phone call to provide an estimate. Before he even got to the front door, George was on a ladder checking out the soffits. His first observation was that the siding contractors had covered over the original vented openings in the soffits- a very common problem George said which probably caused my attic fan to fail. George was very thorough in checking out the attic. He gave me a written estimate on the spot. He was easily accessible and responsive by email for questions. I subsequently had two other companies provide estimates for the attic work. Neither of the other men appeared as focused or as observant as George. It was as if the other two men were only interested in blowing in insulation. After back and forth emails, it was decided to have another company replace the attic fan as George did not want to deal with the city about a permit. As it turns out, Ann Arbor requires a permit for the attic work as well- so George did end up pulling a permit. Costs for the permit, his registration fee for the city and his time were bundled into the estimate. The crew arrived early as per prior phone call. Jason, another man and a teenager quickly got to work. Everyone knew their job. The teenager placed clean drop cloths on the floor where the attic ladder was. They worked nonstop- hustling for almost 6 hours in 90+ heat without a break. They had head gear with mounted lights and walki-talkies. The teenager was constantly running, fetching, and cleaning up debris. They worked together very efficiently. Jason went ahead and replaced every single baffle because they were crumbling to the touch. He did not charge extra for this! The blown-in insulation was supposed to be dusty but because they closed the zipper of the "E-shield", there was no dust. I was pleased that George agreed to match the soffit trim with the original brand and color which meant he had to travel to Madison Heights to get it. Bottom Line: I am very happy I chose AtticPros to do the work

They were prompt in providing an estimate and service. They were on time and had a great price. They were polite and did not leave a mess. The ONLY downside is that they DO not except credit cards and we were unaware of this at the time of purchase.

Professional work and clean up. I will hire this company for all my attic or insulation needs.

George Zentz was recommended by our roofers who said that the insulation in our attic needed to be increased. We contacted George and 3 other companies to come out and give us as estimate. George was not the cheapest but not the most expensive either. We decided to go with him partly because of the recommendation of the roofers and partly because of his no pressure sales tactics and his willingness to answer all of our questions. We set up an appointment over the phone. On the day of the job, he called and said that they were running late because of the traffic but arrived within 20 minutes of his original arrival time. The 2 men crew got to work immediately. They covered up are areas of the house before they started working. They installed 2 new bath vent fans (we provided the fans), added baffles to the attic, increased the R value of the insulation from 19 to 60 and installed a solar powered attic fan. The work was completed on time and they cleaned up after themselves. Very professional company. I would not hesitate recommending them to friends and neighbors.

Had George come out and give an estimate. Estimate was reasonable, he was punctual and respectful of our house. He explained our options and what he would suggest and why. Came back at appointed time and completed job quickly and efficiently. I would definitely recommend him, and if I needed, use him again in the future.

They are a very good company. It was kind of an emergency type of situation because I needed to figure out what I had to do and get it done right away. They came out right away and went through another job. They did a very thorough inspection. They were very professional and went step by step to explain things. They were very knowledgeable and professional. They came out when they were supposed to. They did the work and cleaned up everything. Everything was just top-notch. I had a couple of other ones and gave me an estimate. They were also very good and found them on Angie's List. I wanted to have more work done than just the attic work and Attic Insulation & Ventilation Pro's were ready to do the work. The price was fair. Everything looks really good.

They gave me great advice, and saved money by being able to blow the new insulation on top of the old vs. having to remove the old stuff. They were very quick, and did a great job at a good price. I would definitely use them again.
