Showed up an hour late, and only after being called to ask where he was. When asked to wear a mask in the house due to us having an immune compromised child he told us no! He said he had asthma. Then told us, “we don’t push those.” This should tell you all you need to know about his character. Quoted us one price on the phone, then gave us an estimate $1000 more then the quote. We have two small children and NO WATER. Then Complained when the homeowner had to call from Florida to pay over the phone. Use at your own risk!!

No apparent experience pulling well pumps. A very poor attempt was made and minimal time was spent trying. They were very eager to sell me a new well, that they sub-contract out to have drilled! They appear to be in the business of selling wells for the money. Do not call this company for a failed pump. I called another well driller and he pulled the old pump out in about thirty minutes.

Murph's original assessment of the situation was correct. The problem is, instead of drilling a new well, installing a new pump, and completing the job, Murph's tried to make more money on the job by telling us we needed to replace our holding tank, and the plumber they recommended wanted to have all of our home plumbing backflushed and possibly replace some components like toilets and faucets. We did not understand this since we had a whole house filter in the system just downstream of the holding tank which should have caught all or most of the debris. We felt like maybe they were trying to take advantage since the repair job was covered by our insurance company, but with one of us out of town, we proceeded down this path.
Unfortunately for Murph's and fortunately for us, their push to do more than necessary slowed down the project to the point where we got fed up and fired them. The company that completed the job confirmed that none of the other things they wanted to do were necessary. It has been 6 months since the new well was installed and we have had no issues as a result of not replacing the holding tank or backflushing anything in the house plumbing. The filter had obviously done an adequate job of catching the debris.
In our opinion, Murphs properly assessed the situation, but got greedy and tried to take advantage of an insurance claim. If we would have continued to use them, the job would have cost us (or the insurance company) much more money and we would have been without water for many more days then the 9 days we were without it already. We will not be using Murph's again, nor will we recommend them to anyone in the future.
