Description of Work: Replaced old furnace with new furnace and heat pump/air conditioner. It went very well. They were here on time and completed the job in timely manner and cleaned up all boxes, paper, and the old furnace. My husband had an issue with getting in touch with the person who gave us the quote for questions. He provided his cell phone number, but didn't always answer it or respond to messages. Otherwise, a very good experience. Would recommend them to anyone.

They were very nice and very friendly. The gentleman that came out was very straightforward and very honest about things. It was actually a hard decision to make between them and another company that I got a quote from. I did like them. They were out there very quickly and were efficient. They were very knowledgeable as well. I will absolutely use their services again in the future if I needed to. They will definitely be a contender that I would contact for quotes and everything.
Description of Work: I got a quote from Lammers Heating and Air Conditioning. I did not use their services. They came out in the summer to give me a quote for a new central air unit.

My old system heating and cooling system, which was more than 25 years old, was still operating well, although based on its age, knew I had to replace it 1-3 years, hopefully before it broke down. The federal energy credit and potential state energy credits caused me to get serious and decide to replace the old system. I contacted Lammer's and two other local HVAC providers that I heard were reputable. All three responded, examining the existing system, and recommending replacement systems. I found that the systems recommended were of different sizes from one another. That was curious to me. One company did not seem as professional as the others, so I continued with Lammers and one other company. I asked each sales representative to provide me with a written Heating/Cooling Study so that I could compare them and try to decide why the systems recommended were different sizes, and to help me decide which size system to order. I decided on the size system I felt I needed, and requested and received new written estimates from each for the same sized system, although from different manufacturers. I decided on Lammer's, and negotiated a slightly better price from them to seal the deal. I felt I got a good value and they got the business and a fair price. Lammers arrived as scheduled two weeks after I signed, completed the work in one day, and cleaned up very well. I was extremely satisfied. Do's: - Ask for estimates from at least three companies in writing with details of the system by make, model number, and size (BTU output, and cooling size) so that you have a chance to compare them. - Ask about the various types of filtering available (media filters and electronic filters) and ask for their recommendation, and the pros and cons of each, and cost for replacement. - Ask for a heating/cooling study and a written report. That way if they recommend different systems, you will know what assumptions they made and the basis of their recommended system. - Ask questions until you understand what they are saying and what the estimate covers, including equipment costs, all installation costs, taxes, and haul-away costs. - Clarify whether there could be any additional costs not included in the estimate, underwhat circumstances, and how they will be charged - If rebates or tax credits are shown on the estimate, ask about them until you are satisfied you know what they represent. Find out if they are for sure, or only paid if money is available from the governmental body, particularly state energy rebates. - Ask if there are payment plans available. - Ask for references of other individuals they have installed systems for in the past year that you can talk to. - Seriously consider ordering a humidifyer as part of the system. They recommended it, but I did not include it . I later had one added by them. It's been great in making the house more comfortable in cold months. -Ask for them to include the yearly inspections for free for 2-3 years. Don't: - Be afaid to ask for a lower price that you feel is reasonable, but be sure it is for the exact same system and equipment and that they will not substitute lesser brands or models.
Description of Work: - Lammers examined existing heating and AC system and provided a written estimate to replace - Replaced old system, hauling away the old equipment, and showed me how to use the new thermostat

They were nice about the whole thing. There was no problem. They even carried down things to the basement for me that I couldn’t. I even got a box from them last week and I was wondering where the box was coming from. There were sugar cookies, a note saying thank you and there were tulip like balloons. There was also a little bag that had a label on them so I could understand that it was from their offices. That little box was exciting and it had filter for my sons and I thought they had forgotten something when they came with the air conditioner. Over all the two guys who came out were nice. They did not even want me to move the car. They worked around it. Even what they took out of the basement they knew where to put it. They left the place as nice as it can be. They did not step on the plants and they left no foot prints anywhere. They came in at 9:15 AM Thursday morning took an hour and half for lunch and they were done by 3PM. They went and down the basement and installed the blower or something in the basement. The previous home owner left me everything and from there I knew they had installed the furnace. Somebody told me that the air conditioner was older than the furnace and he has a date on it and it is 40 years old. I have appliance plans through the utility company. I used to have the furnace and the air conditioner under the utility plan later I added the washer, dryer, refrigerator and those things. You pay for it and it depends on how many items you have. At one point I called them to check the air-conditioner. It was running but it was only blowing air. It was not cooling like the refrigerator. They said that I may probably need a new one. My new one is three tons. Since I had plans through the utility company I have not called them to service anything. If the furnace went I just called the utility company. I am paying for it I might as well use them. They have already put in two different thermostats in a few years. I have the strangest furnaces and nobody would say I have the air-conditioner in front of my house and I hide it with plants. It is like long bench type. There are two p v c pipes out there. One curves down and the other one 2 inches away goes up. The one going down sucks in the air that circulates through the furnace. Few times I know it is running but there is no heat. Over the years I have found that there is a tube that comes in before it goes into the furnace, I don’t know what it is called and this was enough to cut off the circulation. A year before last all of a sudden it turned cold I would not go up and down so I just called them. This girl came in and found chick muck in there. She took it home and bought a cage and all that stuff. Again the next day I had a problem I went in there and looked again and sure enough there was another one. I called them again and took care of it. I have chick muck in my house now. I have not seen it. It is here from last November. Now they took a piece of metal and cut holes in it and they have fitted those tubes with this. These metal pieces sit snug in those tubes. This prevents stuff from going in. However I will use this provider again in the future.
Description of Work: On July 27th I had Lammers Heating and Air Conditioning to install an air conditioner.
