HORTON'S TREE SERVICE

If you are looking for a professional, conscientious, courteous, tree trimming service, DO NOT HIRE Horton's Tree Service from Garden City. After camping out on our front lawn, running through it with a crane and then attempting to back though a beautiful (city protected) tree in our front yard, we told them to get off our property. They replied, "We can do what the F#*K we want. Go back in your F#*KING house," among other choice words. Did I mention this was all being done when my NEIGHBOR hired them to take down a tree in her yard? When they weren't allowed to bully their way across our property they packed up and left, leaving the job half done. They came back only after the tree they abandoned fell on the neighbor's house. When I went out to take pictures of my yard that they AGAIN started running through and had already shown no regard for, they AGAIN started yelling at me and calling me names. I am standing on MY property, taking pictures of MY yard and that is wrong according to Horton's Tree Service. Many professionals have worked on neighbor's houses and have always proactively told us what they were doing or even asked permission to come onto the property in the course of their work. I was approached by NO ONE and then attacked anytime I stepped out on my own property. Be warned. If you see Horton Tree Service anywhere in your vicinity they will tear down and destroy anything in their path at will and have no regard for nature, neighbors, or professionalism.

He came same day and fixed it immediately. I was at work and unable to pay immediatey but he was kind enough to let me send a check later.

not well. not responding to phone calls. always going to get to it next week. would not firm up a date. then had a storm and one of the branches fell on the house which was supposed to be already removed. once insurance was involved, then he reacted and doubled charged for some services. eventually was resolved in small claims court to our satisfaction. only seems to like insurance jobs because he can make more money.

It went extremely well.

Dean came out on August 13, 2014 and gave me a very detailed hand written estimate with two options, one with removing our large maple and one with a drastic trim.  We decided on the trim as we would like to keep our shade tree if we can.  They were able to make it out near the end of September to do the work and they did a fantastic job, our yard had been neglected for years and they really opened everything up and cleaned up when they were done.  A different crew comes to grind the stump and I did have to follow up on that but the office manager was polite and helpful and got that crew out without a problem and I was totally satisfied with our service.

The estimator told me I really did not need my hawthorn tree trimmed, and anyway it's better trimmed in the fall.  The other things I wanted were 2 shrubs trimmed and thinned out, and one shrub dug out of the ground.  The trimmers came in 3 days, and trimmed and dug as I wanted, cleaned up and did this efficiently.  I would use this company again.

   They were very prompt with an estimate, and came the next day (even though it was rainy). I offered the Angie's 5% coupon to them, and they said a discount had already been given (even though I had never mentioned to anyone of me being an Angie's List Member prior to that). Over-all I was pleased with them, and would recommend them for the prompt, and good job they did.

Went exceptionally well. Called them on Tuesday and they scheduled me for Saturday. They were on time and extremely fast and efficient. These people know how to get the job done. They were $800 less than the next estimate. Showed up on Monday afternoon to grind the stump.

This company and workers are the best.  Years ago I used a different company to trim the large maple. They said they needed to remove my neighbor's fence to get to the tree, which she gracefully permitted. They did not do a thorough job, complained about the placement of the tree and did a mediocre job cleaning up.
Horton's was the exact opposite. They had no problem accessing the tree, did a very complete job of trimming and cleaning up.
The estimator was excellent and the workers professional, friendly and competent.
I recommend this company and will use them again.

We had 2 large trees damaged in a wind storm. They came out within 24 hours and removed the unstable limbs. Because there was so much damage in our area, they came back within a couple of days to completely remove the trees and grind the stumps. They did a nice job!

This is the third time I have used Horton Tree Service. They did an excellent job of trimming my tree. The crew cleaned up the debri and all was good. They get the job done and done right.

I have four quotes and Norton's was very competitive and their timing was better than anyone else who quoted.  They came when they said they would.  The six men worked like a well oiled machine, obviously very experienced,. They removed all three trees, hauled the wood away and did a nice job cleaning up after they were done.

They made an extra effort to squeez me in because I was having a roof installed.  They out on time and did an outstanding job performing their job.  In addition, the supervisor Dean had them take an additional branch down that had fallen half way from another tree that was not on the agreement.  This company not only met my need but superceeded it.

Horton was very responsive. I called Monday which was Labor Day, and they came out Tuesday to give me a quote. Their quote was the lowest of the three that I received. Other providers could not do the job for at least two weeks and Horton came out two days after the quote and completed the job. The owner of the company did most of the cutting/trimming and told me that he has been doing this for 33 years. They indicated that they were responsive because I had storm damage. I will certainly use them again when I need tree removal/trimming.
