We have an annual contract with Home Service Center LLC, and we've used them for years. They call and set up the appointment and they are very prompt. They do what they say, and seem to be very thorough. They take care of our furnace and our Air/Con. I trust them and I've recommended them to other people. They did a water heater for us a number of years ago.
Description of Work: Home Service Center LLC visit us twice a year for this charge. They check the furnace.

Found out I had lost heat in our vacant house that is for sale and called the company that had installed it for us 10 years ago and the service company we have used for 20 years. To our surprise Center Service America was out of business, but they still called me right back, and recommended Home Service Center, a company that was founding by one of their ex-employees and the guy that probably installed my furnace. I called to make an appointment to meet a service technician onsite. I did not receive a call back in 6 hours. So I gave them another chance and called again. This time I got a hold of Matt. I arranged to have service at 6PM the following evening since this was not an emergency. On my way home from work to meet the tech. I get a call that he had another appointment at 5:45 and couldn't make the 6 o'clock commitment. My disappointment was only beginning. We agreed to a new time of 7 o'clock so I started to kill an hour. I arrived at the house at 7 and no technician. About 10 minutes later I get a call that he was on his way and that got caught at a train crossing. Colby finally arrived about 7:15. After about an hour of troubleshooting and seeming stumped. Concluded it must be the control circuit board. Said that boards are $410 to install. Went out to his truck and found the part. It was installed a short time later. Furnace was working. He closed up the furnace, gave me the invoice and his card and the old circuit board. These are the reasons for the poor review. Poor punctuality. Was not called back in a timely fashion. Tech could not make appointment time twice. When I used Center Service they always cleaned and did the general maintenance when ever they did service. Colby did not do any of this. I was left the old part. Which is the law, but I was able to go onllne and see what the price of the part was. I found this part from $100 - $200 dollars and a place online that could repair your bad one for $60. I also found a substitute board board that could be retro-fitted for $60. I feel I was way over charged for this part at $410, plus the $89 for the after hours service call. I used this company because they were recommended by the a company I had the highest respect for. This was their opportunity gain a life long customer, but instead they earned themselves a poor review on Angie's List. I will not use Home Service Center again.
