I thought they would be a good company because the insurance company referred them. My basement flooded in March 22. They got the job April 22. I kept calling them to start and they ignored me. July 22 they finally wanted to start by this time I started another project. That project paused and I told them to come start and finish since they only needed "7 days". Then charged me more money because of the new insurance book cost (scam). Long story short they didn't finish until September 22 (still waiting on a light as of 12/16/23). If you decide to work with them, make sure you do not stop the project and put a clause in the contract for them to deduct cost when they prolong the project. The work was so bad they had to come back 4 or more times to fix things, painting, drywall, ceiling. I still have wires hanging down in places. I did not use them for a planned second job. I went with a better company.
Description of Work: A complete basement.

Veterans, Family Members of Veterans, and all other homeowners BEWARE! As proud and longtime members of USAA, we have always been accustomed to receiving excellent service when dealing with the little hardships in life. From minor fender benders to cars being totaled, we have received excellent service for our insurance needs. So good, in fact, that my father was a member for over 55 years! Enter Vision Restoration and our experiences with this company all went down from there! Back in the beginning of May, our basement flooded due to a leak caused by our water softener. There was 3 inches of water and the floor so we called USAA for assistance. We were referred to Vision Restoration and felt confident that if USAA recommended them, we would get the customer service and project management that we were accustomed to. As the saying goes, WRONG-O, Felix! Not only is it almost FIVE months later, but we also do not have our flooded basement repaired. From scheduling contractors to negotiating what we want done, this has been nothing more than a fiasco. After the initial mitigation, it has been like pulling teeth to get their workers out to complete the needed restoration complete. But wait, isn’t that what THEIR NAME IS? R-E-S-T-O-R-A-T-I-O-N! See? I even spelled it for you! We have had several “meetings” which were nothing more than a thinly veiled attempt to get us to pay more money above and beyond what USAA was offering for the project. As a longtime USAA member, I can attest that USAA does not skimp on insurance settlements. In fact, when a car we owned was totaled, they actually gave me MORE than what the car cost to begin with. I can whole heartedly say that USAA is one of the best insurance companies to deal with. EVER! Yet, Vision Restoration has been nothing but a nightmare. We have been told several times that our remodeling project would start to only have it pushed back. We were also told that I COULD NOT have the carpeting I want because their flooring contractor didn’t carry it. I had to fight tooth and nail with them to concede to order the carpet from Home Depot! For God’s sake, there’s one of those stores on every corner! Getting me the carpet I WANT for the home that I OWN should NOT be that difficult! The clincher of all clinchers was this – after requesting a NEW start date for the remodeling project, my husband received a text that it was delayed due to the electrical portion costing over $10,000! TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS? Excuse me, but as my kids text, WTH? We have existing electrical in the ceiling and were merely requesting that the fluorescent ballast lights be switched out to recessed cans, a switch put in for a sump pump, and a few lights and a fan put in the bathroom we decided to add as a part of our project. THE BATHROOM REMODEL IS ON OUR DIME! Yes, we did want to have their electrician complete the few things that needed to be done in the bathroom and yes, we assumed there could be an upcharge for it, but were hoping there was enough in the settlement to provide for those few things. But, TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS??? The whole project was initially estimated at just over $22,000! FOR THE WHOLE DARN THING! A dozen 6-inch recessed cans sell for under $100 on Amazon. Just saying! ;) Anyhow, let’s just say that the TEN THOUSAND DOLLAR figure raised a red flag and it was further raised when they wanted to have yet another “meeting” (HIGH PRESSURE SALES CALL) about it. I’m no electrician. This, I will freely admit. However, my husband is in the home remodeling business and my father owned an electrical and wiring supply store. Let’s just say we’ve got an idea or two about what a project like this should cost! After refusing to have the “meeting” (HIGH PRESSURE SALES CALL), my husband and I decided that we needed to turn over the text stating that the electrical portion of the project was TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS to USAA and decline their services. Needless to say, after severing ties with them and informing them that our new hobby will be writing them nasty reviews, we then get an email this afternoon from the owner, Steve Carson II, that stated, “If you continue to make accusations about Vision Restoration, I will take legal action against you and ******.” QUOTE, UNQUOTE! The “******” IS MY HUSBAND’S PLACE OF WORK!!! WHAT THE ACTUAL H***? So not only is this company threatening our 1ST AMENDMENT RIGHTS to write FACTUAL REVIEWS, but they are also threatening WHERE MY HUSBAND WORKS! To add insult to injury, they also are REFUSING to return our $5000 deductible. They were paid for the mitigation. I’m not exactly sure where they think that it is proper or even legal to keep our deductible money for work that has not been completed! Last I checked, I still have an UNFINISHED BASEMENT! Anyhow, we are doing as promised to this company and dishing back out to them the B.S. that we have been dealing with for almost FIVE MONTHS! We don’t care if they threaten to sue us or (get this!) threaten to call the police on us. Of which, the owner also did! Apparently, he felt that our request for the work to be done and the promise to write them bad reviews was a threat to his workers!! YIKES!!! All we want is our basement back to being habitable and this horrible company out of our hair. Also, to warn other Veterans, their families, and homeowners about the rigamarole we have been through. If you don’t have PTSD now, in my opinion, you might after the end of your experience with this company! NOT funny! :( “For if Men are to be precluded from offering their sentiments on a matter, which may involve the most serious and alarming consequences, that can invite the consideration of Mankind, reason is of no use to us; the freedom of speech may be taken away, and dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep, to the slaughter.” – George Washington
Description of Work: Remediation and rebuilding of our walkout basement. The rebuilding portion was not completed due to the fault of the company.

Did sub standard work. Did not remove wet items such as insulation. Which let me with a mold problem in my basement. This company is non responsive and very in professional. They’re negrect to properly complete the job has now put my family’s health at risk as impacted my property value.
The original estimate was for $2,800.00 which was to include the bathroom floor being ripped out and replaced with a new floor and the ceiling in our family room repaired from a water leak. The first issue was they warned me that I might have "rolling" in my family room ceiling after they completed the repair. They could not satisfactorily explain to me what "rolling" was so I hired a separate contractor to do the ceiling repair, which they completed without any "rolling". Our bathroom floor was ripped out and replaced, both the subfloor and ceramic tile. The new tile was uneven. There was also dust all over the bathroom and adjoining master bedroom walls, furniture and bedding. They came out to replace the tile a second time, it was better but still uneven. This time the new sink was scratched, the base of the toilet and the toilet seat were scratched. They replaced the seat, repaired the scratch with paint and removed the scratched sink and were going to replace the sink but he new sink had blemishes on it. I opted to get my own sink and install it myself. They never reimbursed me for the sink. All of this took multiple follow up phone calls by me as they were not returning my calls. I had overpaid them on my 50% deposit they required because I did not have them do the ceiling. They refused to refund my overpayment until I signed a completion form indicating the work had been completed staisfactorily. Obviously that was not the case as the paint on the bathroom wall they repaired had pealed. They refused to repair the wall again. I would definitely not use thsi company again.
Description of Work: It was a painful 4 month process to have repairs done. My bathroom floor was ripped out and replaced.

Vision did not put my exhaust vent back in my kitchen(they left it sitting in my backyard),told me my exhaust vent wasn't necessary. Put my cabinets up without the crown molding. They did not put the knobs back on my cabinets and they did not replace the water damaged carpet. Then they had these same repairs: replaced carpet, replaced crown molding, exhaust vent adding up to about 4000 dollars in extra repairs that was done by another contractor on their final bill for payout. I refused to sign a fraudulent bill to fraud my insurance and mortgage company so he/they placed a lien on my home and threatens to foreclose. Please be careful if you decide to use them. They are fast talkers, incompetent and liars and their communication is horrible. Make them write down everything they "promise"as they try to pressure you to make fast decisions.
Description of Work: Drywall, tile that's starting to peel, sink installation that I had to later have fixed by a plumber.

Of course, we did not use this company service. I could not recommend this company.
Description of Work: The estimator was neatly dressed and friendly. However, he made a serious mistake of evaluating our leaking problem based on what a plummer had told us, Therefore, he based his proposal on inaccurate information. He did not do his own investigation of our roof. If we had allowed him, our house would have been torn up unnecessarily. He sent us a proposal amounting to $9010. We really did need a roof repair and the Jucuzzi tub repaired (these were the causes of our two leaks.) No mention of the roof was included in his proposal. We are so happy that we had other inspections and not have our home torn up and still have a roof leak.

The homeowner called , she stated she would like an estimate for repairs to the ceiling water damaged drywall in the family room and master bathroom. The estimate would be turned into the plumbers liability insurance carrier. The owner stated the plumber said the damage was from the master bathroom spa faucet. The spa tub would have to be removed for access to the faucet supply lines in this area. The estimate provided was for all work related to the water damage from the spa faucet. (plumbing, tile, drywall & painting of family room, hallway, kitchen and master bath) The second area of water damage was to the ceiling of the master bathroom. The water damage to this room was from the roof area over this room or the ceiling exhaust fan. The homeowner stated the home builder had already completed repairs to the roof. No inspection of the roof was requested or completed. As for the estimate for repair, the total was $ 5963.84.
Very good. I have never seen drywall repair this good. It is very difficult to repair ceiling drywall, but when this job was complete, the repair was invisible. The person also did a good job painting. The gutter crew also did very good work. Overall the workers and the others I dealt were very professional. I think this company is a bit on the high side compared to other contractors, but their service is very good and they delivered with quality

On time, great work. Would highly recommend.
Description of Work: Fixed a roof leak on an insurance claim. Were here to tarp the roof within the hour and were able to locate and fix at that time. We called them back at a later date to review the first fix and they did some additional work. Fixed a roof puncture from a tree limb.

They were very prompt in coming out and giving the estimate, but their estimate was triple the price of another company. The estimate, however was very nice and detailed.
Description of Work: They gave an estimate for reframing and changing four large windows.
