Michael Matheson, was very approachable, answered questions patiently on an in home visit. Proud of his company and family business and installed completed in a day. Installers, were good, polite and cleaned up after themselves.

I had an Angie's List coupon for a furnace clean & check. Dennis called when enroute, arrived when he said he would, and went right to work. He found and replaced a blown fuse in my system and performed the service. He made a recommendation to replace a suspect thermostat and left the area clean and orderly. I would call this company again for furnace work.

Trevor, the technician who came out, was great, even though he was the bearer of bad news about my furnace. He spent a lot of time talking to me about repair and replacement options. I have another appointment with a sales rep from this company to look at purchasing new equipment.

Two workman arrived at 8:30 AM. They were done at 4 PM. They were instructional, did a great job, neat clean-up, very nice and pleasant to work with. Wore booties in the house. First class workmanship.

Very honest approach. We did have some smell when we switched on our furnace and we called consumers energy and they said the vents are blocked and do not use the furnace until the vents are cleaned. Matheson did a video inspection of the vents and said that the vents are clean and do not require any cleaning. I liked the sincerity and honesty of the technician and would call them back when we need any service from them.

Project completed within budget, on time, with quality products, workmanship and professionalism. Matheson's approach was to replace the furnace and rework the ductwork to provide a finished look that was not piecemeal. Other contractors were just going to do the minimum amount required to get the furnace replaced. This would have looked crappy! The Matheson crew was quick and efficient. The service was requested for one of the two air conditioners at this house. This particular unit seemed noisy and was taking a long time to cool the area. Trevor thoroughly inspected the problem unit and then tested and cleaned both air conditioners. He also checked out the furnace for a broken heat exchanger. He found no specific problem with either air conditioner & then he inspected the entire system (ductwork, thermostat, air flow) Although nothing needed replacement or repair he did offer some suggestions to improve the cooling process. This was certainly the most thorough inspection and cleaning that this system has had in 16 years.

They were great. He was wonderful. He told us pros and cons. It was a good price. This was the first time we used him. He was so informative and he was great. The quality of the service was wonderful and they came out right away. We would use them again for sure.

They were able to schedule an appointment within the timeframe I requested and arrived exactally on time. They were very punctual and gave us a call when on their way to make sure that the time was still convenient. They looked at our AC and told us that the compression was shot and had to either be replaced, or have the entire AC system replaced. They gave us a quote to replace the compressor and let us know they would give us an estimate to replace the entire unit. They called as expected to give a quote for that. The estimates are a bit on the high side compared to some of the shopping around we have been doing. We have decided not to proceed with the replace / replacement at this time.

They were professional, extremely reliable, and they did a great job. They were also responsive and absolutely fabulous. They know what they were doing. I will surely recommend them.

Matheson has a 100% satisfaction guarantee ? it?s all over their vans, building and contracts. DON?T EXPECT THEM TO HONOR IT. They installed our air conditioning system in August, 2011 and never got it to work properly. In addition, they damaged our appliances, ceilings, closet shelving and furniture during the multiple visits/service calls. By June of 2012, we had enough of Matheson's inability to get our air conditioning working properly. We eventually called another HVAC company, who gave us a couple options and were able to fix the problem in one visit. - not the 8+ visits and 10+ months that Matheson had to make us happy. We called the other HVAC company because Matheson would not respond to us about our their money back guarantee until we had our attorney send them a letter. Even then, they offered us $1,500 less than we paid for the system. We were concerned about letting them back into our house to remove the system because of all the damage they had already caused. We are happy with our system now that we paid the other company to fix it. We felt we should not have had to pay another company but we thought we had no other choice, given our multiple negative experiences with Matheson. DO NOT USE MATHESON. YOU WILL BE SORRY.

Professional, courteous and punctual.

The technician was at our home within 2 hours from our call. He was courteous and professional and showed us precisely the issue with the unit. We chose to shop around for a new unit. We would use Matheson again for other issues, but they only sold 1 brand of air conditioner and we wanted to get estimates on other brands.

I have been happy with them so far. They will also replace the air filters during inspections as well. They are really nice people to deal with as well.

I wish there was marks ABOVE and 'A' (like A+++++++++) because this company deserve it!! A couple years ago, in January (of course) our furnace quit on us. I called the repair company/person I had used for several years and he came out and checked things over. He informed us that the main circuit board had to be changed in our furnace (VERY expensive). It was winter, and I have kids - what was I to do...I had the circuit board replaced. 1 day later the furnace went out again, so I called them back. This time the blower motor was 'fried' - and other 500+$ was spent.. 3 days later we noticed that the furnace did not always 'kick in'. I called him again, he said it might be the thermostat, so we replaced that. Nothing changed. After that I had the same guy out 3 more times, each time he messed around with things for a bit, charged me the service call and said he could find nothing wrong (but it was NEVER working right) that it must be an intermittent failure but he could not track it down if it didn't do it when he was there.So my family wore extra sweatshirts, we watched tv under blankets, and we 'muddled through'. That summer the AC worked fine. Since it is central air and runs through the same blower/system etc our hopes were high that the furnace would work that winter, but no such luck. I put off calling the guy we had used for over 20 yrs because I wasn't sure the furnace would misbehave while he was there, and the 100$ trip charge for basically nothing was a bit more than we could stomach. Finally it was so cold out I had no choice but to call him. He came out, checked some things - said everything appeared to be functioning properly, .and he said it was 'probably time to get a new furnace' But we simply did not have the fundage available at that point so again my family bundled up in extra clothes and blankets and we 'muddled through' another Michigan winter.. As everyone knows this summer hit early, and the central air was turned on for the 1st time of the year several months earlier than normal. It worked perfectly for quite some time, and then, on a Friday evening (6/22/12) with the temps in upper 90s & humidity very high...it just stopped. The A/C unit outside was kicking in, however the blower was not working (that blower motor was under 2 yrs old). Since it was a weekend I did not want to pay for the 'after hours' or 'emergency rate' so I waited until Monday. Since I had no luck with the guy I had been using...forever, I came to Angie's List in the hopes of finding someone close by my home that had good reviews and affordable prices. Man did I lucked out!! I called Matheson right after they opened on Monday morning. The sweet lady who answered the phone asked if I needed someone out that day, and I replied it wasn't an 'emergency' and she said she thought she still had someone that could come out, & asked me what time would be good. I told her I would be home by 4, and she set the appt for 4pm (SAME DAY!!) At 3:59 the van pulled into my driveway, and he was at my door promptly at 4pm (not even kidding) He asked what was going on, and took him to the furnace, he did a couple things and asked me if the regulator (I think is what he called it) was changed when the blower motor was. I told him I didn't know, that I didn't remember anything named that. He said he would like to try changing it out and see if it fixed the problem instead of getting another blower motor - that blower motors should not burn out in 2 yrs. He changed it - and everything works!! ( I tested the furnace and it is now kicking out HEAT - gonna be a much more comfortable winter THIS year lol) He was EXTREMELY polite, very professional, never once tried to sell me a new furnace, and managed to earn my business for as long as I live in this area! I cannot recommend this company highly enough!!!! Thank you Matheson Heating & A/C for being more concerned with fixing the actual problem than selling me something that I do not yet actually 'need' - Trust me, when I DO get to the 'need' point YOU will most definitely be who I call!! Your Integrity ROCKS!!

Promptly returned initial call and came to home quickly (next day). Did work as promised, including some masonry repair where lines went under pavers (New AC installed). Polite, professional, and timely. No surprises. Moved humidifier to proper side of furnace plenum, without charging for the extra work.

Matheson was great to work with from the initial estimate call to the scheduling the work. When we finally had them change out our furnace, they were punctual and clean and completed the work in one day as planned. Their followup was excellent as well.

Matheson installed units as agreed on time and with professionalism. They charged my system for free to get me through the weekend before the install.

I discovered the hot water tank sraying water from an old valve. It looked like it had been leaking for a couple of days and went unnoticed. I got the water turned off but needed to get this valve fixed asap. I had just joined Angies List and do not have a prefered plumber so I did a quick search and found Matheson. They are close to my home and had done work for us before so I gave them a call. Within a couple of hours of callign the water valve had been replaced and we were back to normal.Can't remember the name of the guy that did the work but he was very nice, quick and efficient. More importantly, he did not " find other problems" to turn a simple repair into a big sale. Highly recommend Matheson!

Called Matheson for an estimate on a new AC system after being told by another company ours was dead. They came the next day promptly when they said. There service person even calls when they are on their way. They arrived and did a extensive inspection and told us we DID NOT need a new AC system. All we needed was relay switch and new fuse. Fixed our problem immediately for a very reasonable amount of money. The experience was great from the person answering their phone to the person doing the work. They are promt, professional and skilled. We will use them exclusively in the future and highly recommend them. .

Came out same day, could install next day – important because we had no heat, and they are professional.

If there is ever a problem they are very prompt. We have a service agreement with them. We had a problem one time and needed them to come out before we left within 40 minutes and they came out and fixed the problem. We would not use anyone else.
