Our previous unit suffered a total failure (compressor seizure, blown fuse and refrigerant leak) on a weekend evening. Come Monday I arranged for three local HVAC firms to quote the job. All indicated that a full furnace replacement was required in order to accommodate the new, larger evaporator coil. Quotes ranged from $6,600 to $8,000. Since J&J had installed it 20 years ago I decided to call them, since that experience had been a good one. They had the furnace information still on file and were able quote an SEER 13 unit that would work with it. We wanted the work done ASAP, before a planned trip the next weekend. They were able to do the installation Thursday afternoon, 1 1/2 days after a verbal commitment on the phone).

We needed a new furnace along with my mother. J&J was highly recommended from my colleagues at work. The quote process and price was very competitive. The installation process was fine( we thought). They were prompt and finished the job as planned. It was the after install process where we had issues. We ended up with multiple revisits, conversation(mostly unpleasant) and missed appointments. It started with the humidifier. It never reached its exact humidity level( 40%) or greater. The first 2 service calls consisted of checking the water line. It was in correctly installed and the cold water(not hot) was connected to the humidifier. It was fixed supposedly-still no 40% reading. The 3rd call and visit ended by J&J resulted in a larger capacity humidifier. It was replaced- no issues since. Then the consumers energy credit for installing a 95% or better furnace. It took months to complete. We were so frustrated that we asked Greg if we could help! I use another company that does our annual furnace and a/c check- up and they were out to do the a/c check and noticed that our exhaust system on the outside of the house was incorrect. We didn't use them for the new furnace work, because they were too expensive. In hindsight, we should have just paid the extra $500. I really thought that since they didn't get the business that maybe they were incorrect about the exhaust system. Then I noticed my neighbors exhaust systems didn't look like ours. I walked the entire neighborhood and saw the same installation process in this area of concern. We were told that this incorrect install could result in corrosion of the furnace. I called Greg to talk to him about the issue and so he gave us a date that someone would come out to look at it- each ended up in a no show. This occurred around 6 times or more. Each time I asked Greg about the rescheduled visit, his response was ?our crew is very busy?. The conversation around this issue was so bad, that most times we were yelling at each other. We called the furnace company( Carrier) to get them involved. It really helped as they didn?t want their reputation that was on the line also. Finally J&J brought some one out to correct the condition including my mother in law?s exhaust system.

They were right on time. They fixed a piece of duct work under my home. They went above and beyond the call of duty. I live in a mobile home and some of my skirting had come lose and they fixed that for me too. They were very professional and everything looked great.
