Bill was very professional and courteous. TCI was recommended by my real-estate agent. She was there when Bill provided the estimate. Please not that my complaint is not regarding the mold abatement - Bill did a fine job with this. However, he promised that the heat ducts would be painted with some kind of epoxy to prevent release of the fibers AND that a special insert would be placed into the vents to ensure that the asbestos was fully encapsulated. Before selecting TCI for the job I spoke with Bill on the phone and inquired about the encapsulation process. I asked if they would run an air test and clean the ducts after their work. He assured me they would. And, I asked what kind of insert would be placed in the vents - which he described as a plastic-like insert. Satisfied, I contacted my real estate agent and we proceeded to recommend that the buyers utilize the services provided by TCI for the work on the house, which they did. A few weeks later I was told that TCI had completed the work. I requested to go in and inspect the work myself to ensure my satisfaction. I have two small children and wanted to make sure that the asbestos was fully encapsulated as promised. When I arrived, Bill was there to greet me as was my real estate agent. Bill walked me through the work. I was uncomfortable with epoxy application as it did not seem that it was applied extensively above, below and on the varoius edges of the asbestos ducts. I did research and saw images of properly applied epoxy on asbestos vents/ducts and it seemed that the work was careless. In addition, I did not see that a "plastic-like" insert in the vent units as promised. I was reassured that the workers would return to reapply the epoxy and that the inserts would be added after the ducts were cleaned which was scheduled for a later date. I was also told that I would receive a copy of the air-test report and some information on the encapsulation process. A week later, I returned to the house and saw that Bill had reapplied the epoxy in a satisfactory manner but still no inserts. I again inquired and was told that the ductwork had to be rescheduled and that the inserts would be added afterwards. On the Monday before the closing the ducts were cleaned. I returned to the house again to check on the inserts. Still no inserts. I contacted my real-estate agent to let her know that the work had not been completed. She called Bill and was re-assured that the work would be completed the next day. I tried to go back to the house that next day after work, I was given permission to use the lockbox, but due to traffic I arrived late and the lock box was gone. Since we were scheduled to close the very next morning, I figured I would trust that Bill completed the work as promised since he came highly recommended and since he did follow-thru on completing all other work. The next day we closed on the house. I returned to the house later that afternoon to check on the inserts AND STILL NO INSERTS - UGH!!!! I and my real estate agent were both very upset - she sent several firm emails to Bill reminding him that he had promised the inserts all along to which he replied that the asbestos abatement was done "according to OSHA standards" . . . a complete disregard for the false information provided. I would NEVER have purchased a house with asbestos in the heat ducts. I was initially hesitant but felt much better after being reassured that the ducts would be properly encapsulated with the epoxy along with the added protection of the "plastic-like" insert. After several emails Bill said he had contracted the asbestos work out to another company and he would have them contact me - but they never did. I never received the air quality test report, nor the asbestos abatement literature that he promised. I plan to file a report with the BBB. On Thursday, June 2, 2011, my real estate agent told me that I would be receiving a call from Chris, one of the managers at TCI regarding my complaint. I did receive a call from Chris on Friday, June 3rd however I was out of the office. I returned his call on Monday, June 6th, Chris was not available so I left a message. I also left a message on Tuesday, June 7th for Chris but have not heard back from Chris or anyone at TCI since. Very frustrating!
Description of Work: TCI Restoration was contacted to give an estimate on black mold in the attic and asbestos abatement for the sub-slab heat ducts on a home I planned to purchase. The asbestos was discovered through the home inspection process. Bill Crawford came out to give me an estimate.

Response from TCI Restoration LLC.
The complaint was filed by the buyer of the home, but their real estate agency is the one that contracted our company to complete the restoration . The real estate agency also signed the authorization agreement and paid for the job. I am attaching the signed work agreement and copies of the checks both signed from the real estate agency and not the person who filed the complaint. Also in the complaint it is mentioned that there were no inserts on the vents installed, in the signed work agreement inserts are not mentioned only encapsulation. I am also attaching a quote sent to the real estate agent, not the person who filed the complaint, discussing the work that would be done; again there was no mention of inserts. We preformed the work exactly as agreed upon and our client, the real estate agency, was satisfied with our work and paid us in full.
