I called Maytag on July 16th and they told me to call A&E Factory. I then contacted them and scheduled with them to have someone come out on July 19th and no one showed. When no one showed I contacted both Maytag and A&E Factory and was on the phone with each of them for several hours. During our conversations they said the earliest they could send someone out was July 30th and if they had something sooner they would let me know. On July 20th my grandson said that he saw an A&E Factory truck drive by. After him seeing this I decided to call A&E Factory and they said my appointment was on July 30th. After hanging up with them, I called Maytag back and spoke with one of their representatives. She could tell that I was upset and disgusted with the situation, so she called A&E Factory herself. When she came back on the phone, she said that someone would come out that day, (July 20th), between 8am-12pm. When they weren't here by 1pm I called Maytag back. They told me that they had no idea that they were suppose to be out that day and that my appointment was still scheduled for July 30th. Finally someone came out on July 30th and diagnosed the problem and said that they would have to order the part. He told me that either himself or someone else would come out today, August 2nd, between 8am-1pm. When they hadn't showed a little after 11am, I called A&E to make sure they were still coming out today. The rep then proceeded to tell me that my appointment was scheduled for August 9th. After they told me this, I called Maytag again and they told me there was nothing they could do. When I initially bought the warranty for the Maytag refrigerator/freezer it was stated in the warranty that if it ever broke there was a $250 food allowance for the food that went bad. In 2009 I had a problem with the freezer and the ice maker, so I called Maytag and they gave me $75 to replace the food that had gone bad. When it broke again in July, of this year, they asked me how much food I had lost and I told them about $400 worth. The rep then told me that she could send me a check for $175. I told her that I was under the impression that I would be given $250 for each occurrence, but she told me that it was $250 per contract.
