The entire experience was perfect from start to finish. The floors are absolutely beautiful. The entire crew was professional and respectful. They are pros. ! The crew went above and beyond to make sure every detail was addressed, big and small . We feel so lucky to have had this company.

Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time with other flooring companies, call Dorrance first. I could not be more pleased with our new floors! Obsessed actually! I found Dorrance through Angie's List and after reading fab reviews, decided to call them in for an estimate. The owner Freddie came out to provide an estimate, and most importantly, honest information about this big project we were doing for our home. I had received other estimates before Dorrance, and each company was in and out within 15 minutes. Those companies did not offer to discuss the process, color choices, products used, or finishes available. I felt more informed and confident about the outcome of our floors after one meeting with Freddie because he chose to provide that additional information and welcomed my questions. The bid was right in line with other estimates, and I knew the quality I was getting with Dorrance. I saw the same friendly crew each day, so I never felt like a stranger was in my house. They started each day on time and never had a scheduling conflict. I showed Freddie pictures of what I was looking for and he provided stain samples directly on my floors. After I chose the stain, and they stained the entire house, only then did I realize that I did not like the color(it was too red for me). What a nightmare I thought! I emailed Freddie my concerns with the color, he called right away and assured me that we will have a solution so that I would love my floors. He came through with that promise! He offered to stain over what was put down the previous day and the results were nothing short of spectacular! It wasn't much darker, just less red and gave me the look I had envisioned. Now that is amazing customer service and a company that stands behind their work! I know other companies would have said, "oh well, you chose the stain". I value reviews from Angie's List and they have made the home improvement process easier for me. I hope this review will help someone else feel confident when they choose Dorrance Hardwood Floors. Because for me, they really are the specialists!!

Very well. Dorrance started on time and completed on time. We were trying to decide on a particular stain so Dorrance came over our house a week ahead of time and sanded about a 4'x8' area of the floor and applied the four finishes we were considering which proved to be very helpful in making a decision. They are very knowledgeable and came highly recommended. The prep work was excellent as they sealed off all rooms that were not going to be refinished as well as wrapping up TV, chandeliers and cabinets. Dust was kept to a minimum. Any questions I had were answered including the care for the floors. If you want professionals that get the job done right the first time these are the people you want finishing your floors.

The crew that did the installation arrived on time and completed the work within two days as promised. All aspects of the job, from removal of the existing floor covering, to the cleanup after the new floors were installed was excellent.

The men arrived promptly each day at the appointed time. They cleaned up prior to leaving each day. They kept me informed of what they planned to accomplish daily. They also promised to complete the work in four days and they delivered. Freddie also helped me in selecting the wood flooring which is something that I needed. My husband and I are completely satisfied with every aspect of having hardwood floors installed by Dorrance Hardwood floors. I would definitely recommend them without reservation and would certainly use them again. The floors are absolutely gorgeous. The men paid attention to detail, such as corners and angles, also the area around the fireplace. They also put on the furniture protectors that I purchased to keep the furniture from scratching the floors. We are very happy!!!!

From the estimate to the final finish, they were professional, considerate, and great to work with. I would recommend this company to anyone, and I would use them again in a second. They were on time, clean, and worked to accommodate all of our needs. We had to replace our entire first floor due to a refrigerator leak, and after the initial estimate, our kitchen cabinets had to be removed. They worked around all of the unexpected work we had done, and even finished additional flooring where our cabinets were originally. Additionally, they refinished a second floor landing for us that was extremely "tired and worn". They also replaced some subfloor from water damage. The floors look amazing! What a great company to work with. If you need any hardwood floor work, I would encourage you to use Dorrance! We got three separate quotes, and I am so thankful that we chose this company.

Everything went perfectly, from meeting with Freddie to the actual installation of the flooring. Freddie made recommendations on where to purchase the flooring and we worked out an installation date several weeks out due to his very busy and loaded schedule. Freddie and his crew showed up on time (literally right at 7:30, my mother in law noticed they were sitting up the street when she drove in) and worked very professionally and quickly. The installation was completed in the time promised and we couldn't be happier.

I just moved into a new home and there are oak floors throughout the home under the carpet. I ripped up all of the carpet and needed the beautiful floors to be refinished. So no brainer I had my floors refinished by Dorrance Wood Floors. Freddie and his team did an amazing job. They are professional, more than qualified and do impeccable work. This is my second home that they have refinished. If you are looking to have wood floors refinished give them a call to get a quote you will not be disappointed! Dos: ? Remove all old carpet, staples and tack strips, if possible. This will save you money and let you find problem areas that might need to discuss with Freddie. ? It's best to not be in the house at all. It took 3 days for the work and another two of not allowing pets or putting furniture back on the floors. This is to allow for the floors to properly cure. So stay with family and/or friends and bring the pets. Donts: ? Make sure you put felt pads on ALL furniture or anything going on the floors. Never drag anything across the floor even if it is a card board box. ? Make sure your put felt fabric down under any rugs. A lot of rugs will have the non-slip rubber backing and that can etch and damage the finish. ? If you have a chair on wheels, like an office chair, put down clear hard plastic mat. You can pick one up at IKEA for $17 vs. Staples will charge $30 or more for a mat.

Freddie and his crew did an excellent job refinishing our floors. They look band new.I had three contractors look at our floors and provide estimates. Freddie took the most time to tell me the details of what they would need to do. We had pre-finished hardwood with two different color finishes and different bevel types. He told me how he had to sand the wood down past the bevel so any dirt trapped in the grooves would be removed and the floor can be properly sealed. He also recommend the perfect stain color. Dorrance was not the least expensive, but, Freddie's attention to detail and his five-step program led us to give the job to his company. It took five days to complete the job. However they worked with us so we could stay in the house the whole time and our cats were safe. The finish they used was VOC compliant, so the smell was not too bad. When they were doing the job, they completely sealed the rooms from the rest of the house. We were then able to walk on the floors in the evening up until the final day when the clear coat was applied. Once they were done, they did an excellent job cleaning up. Our floors are beautiful and we highly recommend Dorrance.

Mr Torrance was very professional and did an excellent job. He explained what he planned to do beforehand, the options as far as finish was concerned, and other details. His crew came at the appointed time,protected the rest of the house from dust, and finished the work as scheduled. It all looks very good. He is reasonable to work with, punctual, and we were quite happy with the result.

From the original estimate through final clean up Dorrance was top notch. We were apprehensive about refinishing our floors. Dorrance clearly explained the process, pros and cons of different finishes, and what to expect. They exceeded all expectations.

The installation went smoothly and the final result is amazing! The workmanship and attention to detail is apparent. I've used Dorrance Floors for several wood floor installation projects over the past 7 years. They are extremely professional and the quality of work excellent. Each project involved matching the new floor to existing floors and the job is so good, you cannot tell where the old stopped and the new started.
