Over the years, they have fixed many things on my 1999 Honda Civic and it is not unusual that they find something that needs tweaking even when I take the car in just for an oil change. What they often do, however, is make a list for me and then I can get things fixed when my budget allows. They were referred to me by a boyfriend (at the time) about 8 or 9 years ago who told me his old girlfriend used them and really liked them. Preferred Automotive is a family owned business run by two brothers who not so long ago promoted one of their staff to a leadership position. I really trust all of them and you can tell from the waiting room that they really develop relationships with their customers. So if you want your car to have a caring doctor like you would look for yourself, these are the guys.

I called a couple of places in the area to see about mounting and balancing three tires. I'd purchased new wheels separately but needed someone to do the mounting and balancing. Preferred Automotive was friendly and told me the work would take about an hour and could schedule me within a couple days of phoning them. Their fee seemed about the average market rate for the work. I arrived a little early and waited while the work was done. They have coffee, donuts, an HDTV, and magazines while you wait. Sean and Gary were very friendly and chatted with customers about their cars. The work cost what they told me it would and the car was ready within the hour. I plan on using them again.

The owners are friendly, respectful, and straightforward. They explain exactly what they are going to do, and do exactly what they promise. They work with you on scheduling service and will provide transportation to the Twinbrook Metro (though it's within walking distance) or to other nearby locations. The fact that they close at 5pm has been a slight logistical challenge at times, but the quality of the service is worth it. They don't push unnecessary repairs on you, but triage any problems that they see and let you know what maintenance is required immediately and what will be needed in the near future. I have a feeling their prices are a little higher than some other shops, but I still take my car to them because they've earned my trust.

This shop is EXCELLENT. They take care of the customer and treat each vehicle as if it was their own. They present the problem and several solutions to fix it. They do not speak "over" your head. He explains the problem and solutions in "laymen" terms. Their customer service is ABOVE and beyond anything I have come across in ANY occupation.

They are trustworthy, friendly, and knowledgeable.

They are excellent and trustworthy. They might be slightly more expensive then their competitors but they are honest.
