The provider was highly professional. The workers barely took a break for lunch. The crew explained to us how every thing was going. After they job was finished they cleaned up every thing. They built the fence on site. The provider cared about what they were doing. Edgar was really through out the process.

Everything went as planned. The old railroad tie retaining wall was hauled away along with over 100 ft. of old picket fencing. We worked together on the site preparation. They stopped by twice after we agreed to the contract. I hired a survey company to find the property markers and flag the lines. We had to give up some property on one side of the fence due to a massive tree on the property line. My neighbor didn't want to give up her half of the tree, so I couldn't have it removed. We managed to get the fence on a straight line, giving up as little as possible.

The company was great from initial contact to installation. The price was extremely reasonable for the quality. I can't believe they installed the entire fence in one day. The fence really improves our property beyond words. The copper caps on the fence posts were a great addition that was a splurge. Highly recommend Capital Fence!

Quick response to my request for an estimate. Representative came to our property and measured, discussed options, and provided advice. Estimate was provided within a few days. We had to delay a week while awaiting a permit (wait was not due to any problem with the contractor, just City administrative procedure). Work crew was wonderful! Removed old fence, installed new one. Job took two full days. Workers were extremely diligent and professional. They were careful not to damage landscaping plants and other features. They did a very thorough cleanup. We are 100% satisfied.

The estimate and measure was smooth. There was a bit of a lag in installation due to bad weather and extra permits required in our neighborhood, but they kept on the county and parks department and got the proper permits. The installation took one day and it was done very well.

Capital Fence brought their A game from the start. During the estimate, Mike walked me around the property and explained all my options and gave me his advice along with pictures of my options. He provided on every promise he made and kept me informed with emails every other day regarding the status of the project. Mike seemlessly worked with the city to obtain the necessary approvals and permits, was the low cost estimate of the three we received, and provided a beautiful fence that we will enjoy for many years. This was by far my best experience with a contractor on any home project and I would highly recommend Capital Fence. Ask for Mike as i know he will treat you well. Thanks Mike and Capital Fence!!

The salesman, Mike, was prompt to come measure and submit an estimate. Mike was professional, polite, and explained everything in detail. He had good ideas of what we needed, and worked with us (as much as he could) to minimize cost, which ended up a lot more than we were expecting. However, after signing the contract and making arrangements to begin the work, the salesman became difficult to reach, and the office was apparently unable to get us on the schedule (they explained this was due to an unusually large batch of orders being placed) however, we were definitely NOT kept informed about the start date nor the status of where we were in the queue. None of our phone calls were returned promptly, and we had to make multiple calls to finally get put on the calendar. This was 8 weeks after the estimate. Once the job was started, it was finished in just 3 days, and we love the results, but would like to see this company improve both the communication with their clients and the office-to-sales staff coordination.

Both fences are terrific - and highly recommend this company. I had a problem with the lock on a gate and they fixed it.

From the moment David MacKenzie knocked on my door, I knew this was the contractor I would choose. As it turned out, his estimate beat three others and his explanation of the step-by-step process and the description of the materials was thorough with no pressure to have me sign on the dotted line. I had done my homework and familiarized myself with fence "terminology" and types of boards, posts and trim. Also, I looked long and hard at his completed projects around the neighborhood (all gorgeous). So, that same day, I signed the contract and Mr. MacKenzie immediately applied for the permit and gave me a date when his crew could begin the work. Much to my delight, he called me to let me know he had an opening a week earlier than expected and now, I have a "knock-your-socks off" stunning cedar privacy fence that exceeded my expectations (and I had looked at thousands of fences on-line). His crew was the best and they completed the installation in a day and a half. They are supermen - the first day, they worked 11 1/2 hours! The fence is PERFECT!

They did a great job. The fence and gates look wonderful. We are very happy with our decision to use Capital Fence. If we had it to do over, we would use them again. The lead workman on the day of installation went through everything with me prior to starting to make sure he had all the details correct. When there was a choice on a way to do things, he always asked my preference but was happy to give advice when I wasn't sure. Three workers were there an entire day working on the fence and were very professional. They clearly cared about doing it right because when they had finished everything but the gates, they decided to go back to their base and get some more boards because they weren't happy with the ones they had left. I'm sure this meant getting home much later for all of them that evening since leaving and coming back added a couple of hours to the job (though it didn't impact us as we had a fixed price), but they wanted it to look good. If you're debating between cedar and pine and can afford the cedar, I'd say go for it. Plus it smells wonderful. My only small qualm is that it wasn't super easy to nail down a date for the installation. The office seemed really busy when I would call and no one seemed quite sure of when they could come or aware of what someone else had told me previously on the phone. To be fair, this was partly due to predictions of bad weather. No big deal though. Everyone we interacted with was pleasant and they got the job done pretty quickly after signing the contract. Of the four quotes we got, Capital Fence had the second lowest price (only two or three hundred dollars more than the lowest) but had the best warranty. Someone from the company called the day after installation to ask if we were happy with the work they did. Also, we were happy to support a local company.

I had good experience with this provider. I choose them over big names because they are local small business and they gave me very good price. I would like them to improve their schedule communication as I had to call multiple times to find out my place in their installation queue.

They turned the estimate around to us in less than a day. They were early for the appointment, surveyed the property and answered any questions I had. They were professional and provided details as to what type of fence and how they would install it.

He was on time and his quote was higher than the one I went with. He was here when he said he would be and he was professional.

They did a great job - 2 guys had it done by the time I got home from work. When some incredibly strong neighborhood vandals somehow pulled one of the planks clean out of the fence a couple of months after it had been installed, leaving a hole my daughter could fit through, they came back and put a new plank on for us, at no additional cost.

The team were great and worked hard all day to get the work done as quickly as possible. Looks to be an excellent standard too. There was some clearing up, but Dave saw to it that it was cleared up quickly. Throughout the team gave me very good hands on service and helped me out where they could.

They were very efficient... helped with everything from permitting to getting the fence in quickly. Did a very professional job.

We loved Capital Fence!! Their crews were extremely professional. For the fence, they arrived at 7am, ate lunch in shifts so that someone was working at all times (to the point where I felt bad!!), and finished in a day! The fence is gorgeous at keeps our dogs in (along with donkeys, goats, sheep, and chickens!) We had the deck done a couple weeks later and had similar crews. They worked hard and fast, delivering a spectacular deck over the course of 5 days (its pretty high and the footers had to cure over the process of 24 hours, and county inspectors had to be involved). We couldn't be happier with the service, the construction, and David!!

Company was very professional in providing us options and an estimate. We went back and forth several times. We decided not to use them for only one reason: they had never completed a horizontal slat fence. From what we were told, these fences tend to have issues with sagging, etc. We decided to use a company that had previous installations of this style fence in hope that we will hvae less problems with the fence in the future.

We had an excellent experience with Capital Fence and Mike Trail. We received estimates from several fence companies, and although Capital Fence was not the cheapest, it also was not the most expensive, particularly for a cedar fence. Mike was prompt and professional and had excellent recommendations for the design of our fence. He helped make it more accessible for guests, and also gave us a great tip about gate placement to aid in the maintenance of our property that stretches outside the bounds of our fence. Although the installation crew arrived a little late (maybe 1/2 hour) because of traffic they worked quickly and meticulously to complete the fence in one day. Several months later, the fence still looks really good. There is one random small circular hole in the fence - I have no clue what caused it - it looks like a knot in the wood came out or something? All in all, we were very satisfied with our Capital Fence experience.

They did a great job, the crew was very professional and the whole job was done in as short a time as I imagine it was possible to do. They worked with me to use the fence post caps I wished as opposed to the defaults, ensured that the gates looked as I wished, and everything turned out right the first time through.

Dave, the owner, was very responsive to phone calls. Since we'd obtained several quotes (all similar in pricing), Dave brought over some wood samples so we could see the difference in using cedar/hemlock instead of pressure-treated. One good thing is that this company's quoted prices are fixed, whereas with the other quotes we received, the price might vary with unexpected issues during installation. Being local, Dave made several site visits to ensure that pre-installation preparations were effective (tree/brush removal). After we cut down the trees and brush that interefered with the fence line, his crew removed the logs and brush with a front-end loader, saving us MANY trips to the dump. The fence was completely installed in 2 days which was particularly impressive since it was during Thanksgiving weekend. There was one misunderstanding with the crew about the fence line that was quickly resolved with some brief discussions with Dave. The fence looks beautiful. If we were to do it all over again, we'd still go to Capital Fence.
