They did a wonderful job from a technical standpoint, were very friendly and cleaned up well afterwards. They made every effort to ensure we were satisfied with the result.  + -1 moreWe chose them because they were rated very well and had a lot of reviews on Angie?s List. They did a great job. He came out and gave me an estimate by just looking at the tree, and offered to haul away some additional yard waste that we had around as well for an additional charge. He couldn?t set a date because the weather was bad, and it was work to be done outside, and so we agreed to follow up on that. A few days later, we still hadn?t heard from them, but when my husband checked, we realized that the tree was actually gone, as was the yard waste from the bottom and additional yard waste that we hadn?t specified. There had been no trace at all that anyone had been in our yard, and so we were very happy with that. They were $150 cheaper than a previous estimate. I have recommended them to a friend already.

 + -1 moreI thought I had several trees infested with mites. Mr Lasbury came quickly to inspect them and luckily found only old brown foliage normal for the tree's age. At no cost he pointed out several less crucial problems with some of my shrubs and instructed me on how I could take care of the problem myself. He offered me a quote on routine tree trimming on several large trees in my back yard.

They worked from the time they got here until the time they left. They cleaned up well and we had no problems. The crew was great and I was very happy with them.

 + -1 moreFrom the first time I met John Lasbury I was impressed by his professional manner. He showed up to give the estimate when promised. I feel his prices were lower than average but I got an above average job! His crew was great also! They arrived on time and cleaned up all the debris from the trees. They were respectful of our property. When they found they would not be able to take all of the wood that day Mr Lasbury sent someone out the next day (a Saturday) to finish the job. I would recommend this company to anyone.

 + -1 moreAll aspects were great! Appointment was made at my convenience. Lasbury arrived promply for the appointment. The tree was pretty overgrown with a fair number of dead branches. Tree was trimmed appropriately and all dead branches removed. Everything was cleaned up and taken away when the trimming was complete. Service was friendly and courteous. Price was as quoted from ealier estimate provided by the company. Ash tree is now in good shape.

 + -1 moreWe have a 50+ year old japanese maple tree which is quite large and beautiful. Was, that is, until a careless dump truck driver sheared off 3 of its major limbs by driving out of our driveway with his dumper raised (and not looking at what he might hit on the way!). With his company's insurance settlement in hand, we sought the best tree guy we could find. Everyone recommended Lasbury as the "Cadillac" in his field. He was very responsive, expert in his knowledge, and took care of everything from pruning off the splintered limb-stumps to treating the tree with fertilizers to help it recover and heal. Now, a year later, the tree is very healthy and starting to show signs that it will eventually fill back in. I might hire less expensive tree folks to do less demanding work (regular pruning, bug spraying, etc) on our "ordinary" trees, but only Lasbury is going to touch our japanese maple -- the extra cost of using him is well worth it.
Description of Work: "Surgery" to save a very large and valuable japanese maple tree which had been severely damaged by a dump truck.

 + -1 moreThe team from Lasbury was punctual, very fast, and took great care to ensure that they did not damage our rather heavily landscaped yard in any way. They were courteous to not only myself, but my neighbors as well, and did an excellent job of not only removing the trees but cleaning the debris after the trees were down. We've had other tree services work in the yard, and they've always left behind some kind of mess for us to ultimately deal with. Not so with Lasbury. Our neighbors were so impressed in observing the speed and quality of the work that they asked John, when he arrived for the post-work inspection, to give them an estimate for work on their property. The only negative in the whole experience was the scheduling. While we were told it would take about 2 weeks to schedule the service, two and a half went by with no call. Once I called and scheduled the work directly, though, it didn't take long for them to come and do the work. All in all an excellent value and high quality work. I know who I'm calling when we next need tree service.
Description of Work: Eight small to medium-sized trees removed from the property. The largest tree was over 30 feet tall, while most of the rest of the trees were around 20 feet in height. Trees were removed, but stumps were not.

 + -1 moreReally amazing, and unfortunately I never even met him. Just as with the other stories here, I emailed Mr. Lasbury on Sunday, he got back to me Monday w/a detailed report and estimate, I emailed back several questions, he answered them in detail the same day, and scheduled the job for Wednesday. I came back Wednesday, the large tree was gone, trees were pruned, vines gone, hardly anything out of place except what was supposed to be gone! Mailed him a check, and that was that. I put "B" on the price only because I don't think it was particularly low, but based on other online quotes I've seen here for large tree removal it seemed to be reasonable and fair, and I think you have to pay something for quality and professionalism. The tree removal alone was $1080.
Description of Work: Removal of large boxelder from front yard, removal of embedded vines from large sweet gum and oak, pruning of several trees, fertilization of 2 trees.

The workmen were very professional, cleaned up all the debris very nicely and added the hedge trimming at the last minute. I am very satisfied with the work.

 + -1 moreOverall, it was an excellent experience. And, as expected, there were fewer leaves to deal with this fall. This was a bonus given that the local football season was longer than usual.
Description of Work: We needed 4 large Oak trees to be pruned. Branches had grown over the house and some were dead. We have a major issue with "tons" of leaves every year. One year we bagged over 100 big black leaf bags. Not much time available to do such chores, especially during the football season. We were driven to deal with the trees since we had some construction work done in the back of the house and we wanted to clear the area. The actual work was done in September 2008. All communications were done by email. Mr. Lasbury came during the day and sent us an estimate by email and regular mail. He determined that the green stuff on the Red Oak which concerned us was Lichen, not hurtful to the tree. He also recommended fertilizing two of the trees. I was home on the day that the crew came to do the pruning. They were very polite and efficient. I indicated some specific limbs to clear and they complied with my request. It was a full-day project. I'm amazed that human beings can climb up so high on trees with chain saws. By dusk, they were done and gone. All of the work area had been cleaned and the debris removed. Looking up at the trees, it was clear that the pruning was done very carefully. I'm sure that the trees appreciated a "hair cut".

 + -1 moreThe job was an absolute pleasure from start to finish. I called for an estimate, they came out the next day, and then called me immediately with the estimate. A written estimate followed a day or two in the mail. I waited a few days before responding because I had another company doing an estimate. The other company never got back to me, so I decided to go with Lasbury. Based on previous work by other tree services, I felt their quote was reasonable and was about what I expected. I called Lasbury to accept the quote, and they scheduled me for the very next morning! They showed up on time with a full crew and all the necessary equipment. It took them 4-5 hours to nibble away at the tree due to the fence and power lines, but they did it without harming anything. They cleaned up very, very well when finished. I was pleased that during the day, the owner of the company stopped by to introduce himself and see how things were going.
Description of Work: Lasbury cut down a very tall( 100 ft)Oak tree that was adjacent to a fence and overhead power lines. They used a bucket lift to slowly remove upper sections of the tree, and used ropes & pulleys to safely lower the sections to the ground. The logs were trucked away, limbs were mulched into their trucks, and even the saw dust was removed from the yard with a leaf blower.
