Description of Work: We occupy a home built in the 70s that had: | |- 16 single-pane original double-hungs |- a large picture windows consisting of individual single glass pieces framed in wood |- a single pane glass sliding patio door | |We replaced all of the windows with double-pane, argon-filled, vinyl windows from SoftLite (Imperial LS) with a double lifetime warranty. The workmen were professional and thorough. As the owner assured us during our initial consultation, the new windows have significantly improved the comfort level of home. In particular, the temperature difference between the lower and main levels of our home has narrowed dramatically, making it much more comfortable throughout the home. One of the panels of the new patio glass door had a scratch, and the installers immediately ordered a replacement, which they installed upon receipt at no additional charge. We are very pleased with the attention to detail, professonalism, and workmanship of RCR and recommend them as a quality window contractor. While they were not the cheapest quote we received, their Angie's List reviews and our interaction with the owner Jack Kidder sold us on RCR. For a job that we hope to last for the next 20-40 years (or more), we are happy with the upfront results.

Description of Work: I admit I expected this would cost more than the price for 250 square feet because I knew there was more than 250 square feet. I got an estimate that I thought was a bit high but I had already agreed to the 250 and paid for it. So I let them do the whole job. Workmanship, punctuality and all the rest were fine - cost was a bit high. I felt a bit trapped.

Description of Work: Cleaned living room, hallway and around the beds in the 3 bedrooms as house is less than 1000 sq. ft. Some stains required extra cleaning so I agreed to the extra cost. They were careful of the furniture but they did not put plastic under the legs until I asked since wood will stain and they did not have any left. I found some bags to use but it looked tacky. They should carry those squares to go under any furniture.

Description of Work: Blown in insulation in our attic was performed in a professional and timely manner. They were clean and professional.

Description of Work: Replaced all of our windows. It was a great experience. They did it very quickly and neatly.

Description of Work: Installed 16 Soft Lite windows in my house. Windows are vinyl double hung Barrington; double glazing, argon fill. Hard working-high quality workmanship from the install crew. Job completed to my satisfaction within 8 hours during a light morning rain. (No mud or dirt tracked into the house). Communication about the project prior to and during the install from Red Carpet project management was outstanding. Price was competitive with other Northern Virginia window install businesses. The real test of the window quality will not occur until the winter months. As of today, the heat transfer through the windows in full sun is very low! Our main objective is to cut heating costs. We have no reservations about giving Red Carpet Remodeling a high recommendation. From the original sales call to project completion, top level business integrity was on display.

It seems like somebody knocks on my door once a week asking if I want new windows, gutters, siding, etc, etc. At 7pm, it was a high school kid in a red T-shirt representing Red Carpet Remodeling. Red Carpet may indeed offer quality service. And the kid was bright and presented well. But these unsolicited visits turn me off as much as telemarketers, junk faxers, spam Emails, etc. (Long sigh) Mr. Reeser, I appreciate that you're trying to drum up business. But put me down as one who prefers to select service organizations based on my research (like here at Anglie's List), not based on who knocks on my door.

Description of Work: Removed and replaced siding. Removed and replaced front door and side panels. Covered all exposed wood with formed aluminum trim.

Description of Work: I had new siding installed, including around windows and under overhangs The caulking was smooth. The crew took pains to go back and apply the house number plaque when I forgot to tell them where I wanted it and installed all new outside light fixtures to the front porch and back deck. They were very thorough with their clean up around the perimeter of the house and the yard. The work crew was friendly and helpful. I was happy with the results.

Description of Work: Replaced 14 original windows in our 20 year old home. The most challenging part of the installation was the replacement of the bay window in the living room. It had water damage from years ago. Not only did they replace the windows (3), they also repaired the walls and trim surrounding it, inside and out. They spent the first day just doing that. They left everything very clean and prepared for the next days work. Very professional upon arriving the next day even though there were people still in the home. Upon arriving back home, everything was clean and put back in its place.
