Excellent. An energy audit was performed, which we used to have additional work done, insulation and windows. Thankfully BGE accepted this audit and gave us our rebate.

It went very well and we're happy with the results. Our house is warmer in the basement and front bedrooms, when they used to be very cold, and now they match the temperature in the rest of the house. Our furnace seems to be running less frequently too. They wore shoe covers to protect our floors, completely cleaned up after themselves and were fast and efficient. They were honest with me about our roof looking worn on one section, but didn't pressure me to hire them to do the roof repairs.

Overall it went well. He was very professional and a nice guy.The only drawback was that he never sent me the results of the audit within the two weeks I was promised. I called and he sent it to me via email. I also thought his recommendations were pricey.

He was not able to help me because we had too large of an area for them but was very honest and didn't try and push me into anything as some salesmen will do.

We had High Performance Homes add additional insulation in the attics above our living spaces. Prior to installing the insulation, they did a full energy audit of the house, including a blower door test and a thermal imaging system inspection of the whole house. During the audit/inspection, they pointed out several areas where past efforts to improve energy efficiency had been less effective than we thought. While they were willing to point out where we had some deficiencies, they were doing so in manner that was not presented as a “sales pitch”, and they said that most of what they found was simply not cost effective to address. As part of their work, they helped us fill out and submit the forms needed to get an energy efficiency rebate. This is something other vendors had not done. As is my norm, I watched what was done. They covered all of the areas the way they said they would in their proposal, and they reacted well to any comments/suggestions that I had during the installation process. The installation occurred when they said it would, and took as long as stated. They did a very good job of cleaning up after the work. They then did a post installation blower door test to make sure that the infiltration rate met minimum requirements. At my request, they also used their thermal imaging unit to show me the improvement. All-in-all, a very professional group to work with. Since they do work other than insulation, we will certainly consider using them for some other jobs we have planned for the spring.

Both Larry and his son arrived to conduct the home energy audit. They reviewed my energy bills for the last year and conducted the tests. I accompanied them as they perfomed the tests and found them knowledgeable and personable. They checked the whole house including the attic and suggested some things that I could do to lower my costs. Overall, I thought that they did a good job and would recommend them to my friends. Note that I kept this service seperate along with my assessment from another project that I had performed with their assistance.

They arrived on time for both appointments. They completed the audit on one day and the work on another day. They answered all my questions. The only problem was in the garage. The wooden plugs that they used for the sealing of the dry wall did not fit properly and as a result they cracked the drywall putting the plugs in. They blamed the drywall for being brittle but I suggested they use sandpaper on the plugs before they inserted them and that worked. They have yet to repair the damaged drywall in the garage.

I had HPH perform a home energy audit. They were able to identify the key areas that were lacking insulation (the eaves) and areas with inadequate insulation (the attic). The showed me thermal pictures and personally pointed out to me the areas that were cold and drafty. We agreed on the work to be done and they added the insulation. They also added vent dampers and extended vent piping that was missing.

It was the owner and his son. They were nice guys and completed the job within a day. I could have had blown insulation added to the attic, but I couldn't afford it. The owner wasn't pushy.

Never performed service. Not willing to travel so far from home base. No fault of theirs. I live approximately 50+ miles away.

Guys showed up on time (a little early even!), were polite and professional and went right to work. They completed all work on the original estimate, plus checked out a couple of additional concerns that I had. Seven hours later, I really feel like my house is more energy efficient! These guys were great to work with and I'm confident that I'll be able to see a measurable difference in my BGE bills. They did a fantastic job of cleaning up after themselves as well! Note that I expect to get a refund from BGE for 50% of the cost for this work.
