Very pleased from start to finish. Mike came out to give me an estimate and explained the process. Work was scheduled, and Johnny and Tyler arrived exactly on time. The work involved installing piping into the basement slab, a crawlspace, and under a first story slab, a outside fan and pipe. They did a great job. They sent out an independent radon tester a few days later to confirm that the system was working. Highly recommend this company. By the way, I never knew there was radon in my area (Davidsonville) until I decided to purchase a Corentium Radon Detector after seeing an article about it in Family Handyman magazine. Bought it on Amazon... [*** Link removed ***] I was getting reading above 10 when it should be below 4. Radon is a dangerous gas that can cause lung cancer. I wish I knew sooner.

It went real well. The follow up test hasn't been done yet. They were professional came out quickly and knew what they were doing. I thought the price was fair. They sent three technicians and it took them about two hours to complete the work. They explained everything really well, they did a neat job. It was obvious they knew what they were doing.They cleaned up well after themselves.

The work went very well. The job took approximately 2 hours. The before Radon level was 9.2 pCi/L - the after Radon level was 1.0 pCi/L. The work was performed on a Monday and the retesting completed the following Friday. Great company! Workers are very knowledgeable, professional - and friendly. The retest was performed by Accuspex Home Inspection Service, an independent Radon inspection service.

Showed up on time, identified all the details of the project. Had accurate notes about everything. Made an excellent plan for the system and communicated clearly. The installers confirmed location of piping before installing it so that sufficient room was left for future renovations. Cleaned up after themselves thoroughly.

Service technician was punctual, knowledgeable, and everything went exactly how he laid it out.

Everything went like clockwork from the initial visit by Mr. Dietz who explained precisely what Radon is, its dangers and how it infiltrates your how He assessed our situation, established where and how the exhaust pipe was to be placed, quoted a price and set a date for the work to be completed. On the appointed date and the appointed hour his son John and another employee Mike came, as promised, completed the work within a few hours and left the area in an immaculate condition. We can't say enough about this company and the professionalism of its staff. Highly recommended.

It went great, no problems at all. The estimate and work done were both quick, with no incidents. I'm hoping I'll have no well or radon problems in the future, but if I do, I'll definitely be back.

We received excellent service from G.M.D. Construction. They did quality work in a timely fashion at a reasonable price. We were given explanations and information throughout and we were very happy with the whole process. When the home was retested they level was below 1.0 - lower than expected. A reputable company providing an important service.

Excellent. These were the most professional workers I have encountered in the 30 years in my home. They are polite, neat, efficient and explain how the system works. They know what they are doing and do their work exceptionally well. The Radon system is out of the way, takes up little space in the basement, and blends in with the exterior of the house. Radon reading was reduced significantly.

Excellent. GMD installed a system that was integrated into existing french drain, updated an existing sump pump, installed a duct fan, and sealed the entire system. They performed a smoke test to ensure air flow. Team took pains to leave behind a clean work area, were friendly, and willing to ask any and all questions. Radon following their test showed a significant drop in detected radon. Would highly recommend them to anyone requiring radon mitigation.

Excellent. Mike Deitz came out and did a fantastic job reviewing the house and explaining radon mitigation in general and what specifically needed to be done on site. Mike correctly surmised that there was probably a sump pump located in a corner drywall soffitt -- this on top of two other sump pumps identified (one active and one inactive/dry well). After giving him the go ahead to cut into the soffit, we discovered that there was indeed a sump pump and it was active as well. Following up the intial visit, John Deitz came out and conducted a very professional install. During the process he patiently answered my questions and provided details and information all along the way. Very impressed with quality of install and efficient nature of the install. I would recommend these guys to anyone.

Three people returned to install the system which entailed boring a hole in the slab and placing a PVC pipe from the hole through the side wall where a blower/fan was attached on the outside and then the pipe was extended up to the top of the roof. Everyone worked efficiently as a team and the area was left clean and tidy. Approximately a week later an independent home inspector returned to re-test the radon level. This re-test revealed that the radon level in the finished basement had been reduced from 8.9 pci/L to 0.6 pci/L. G.M.D. is licensed and insured and guarantees their work. I am extremely pleased with their quality of service and level of experience.

Our home has an existing radon mitigation system installed in the sump. They were convinced changing out the existing system would help improve readings further, even though the existing system was drawing out a good vacuum. They did a good job and the installation was well done. But the solution turned out to be more complex than anticipated, and radon levels remained the same. They did follow up with an offer to investigate further and try to track down the problem. They also clarified a number of misconceptions I had. Unfortunately we'd already begun looking at alternative solutions. Nevertheless, we are very appreciative of John's offer and diligence in following up. Bottom line up front, The quality of work done was very good. Unfortunately, the solution provided did not work for us. The problem was more complex than initially thought and more investigation is required.

One of the best service calls I have experienced. GMD, thank you for your superb service! GMD was recommended by my real estate agent a couple of months back and they happen to be on Angie's List. Mike and his team were very prompt and professional from scheduling to completion of the work. Mike came out to complete site survey, determine where to install the mitigation system, and provide an estimate. His team came out a couple of days later (on morning of Christmas Eve) to install the sump pump and the mitigation system. They put tarps on my floor and stairway to walk on in order to keep my floor and carpet clean. They thoroughly explained to me how the system work and what to check for before they left. I highly recommend this company.

Mike Deitz (owner) came out to my home to provide a free estimate and consult. He recommended placement of the unit so as to conceal it on the exterior of my home. Mike was very thorough at explaining the procedure and what needed to be done and why. I decided his company was the best for my job, so I scheduled an install and spoke to Mike's brother, John. John was very personable and professional both on the phone and in person when he and another gentleman (named Mike) came out for the install. They were timely in arrival and had my system installed without issue. John further made suggestions on installation that made the inside pipe in the basement out of the way. I was totally pleased with the efficiency of service and the great recommendations by both Mike and John that provided me with a radon unit that you probably won't even notice. It was a pleasure to work with all parties involved in GMD Construction and I would highly recommend them in the future.

Mike Deitz came by to inspect our house to determine possible layouts for the radon mitigation system. He was punctual, and very friendly. He even cracked a smile out of my grumpy toddler. He presented a couple options, and showed actual pictures as samples of what the system would look like (either done on the outside or inside of my house). I went with the internal mitigation system, and scheduled it to be installed later in the week. The install guys arrived a few days later - right at the scheduled time. They were very friendly, and did a great job. The installed radon mitigation system was very neatly done, and they left no mess. We had the system tested by an outside vendor (this is included in the price), and the radon levels are now lower than when we purchased the home. Overall, I highly recommend Mike and his team!!

Bottom Line: OUTSTANDING job! I come from a construction supervision/military background and am anal about my home as well, so I tend to be a bit picky in these areas. Estimate: "Boss Mike" arrived on time/on schedule. It is 5-story home built into a hill-side, with a multi-level foundation, so it was a bit complicated and time consuming, but he took as much time as necessary and did a very thorough inspection. He left me with a detailed written estimate before he left. Scheduling: Done via phone and was very pleasant and flexible. Installation: Johnny, "Technician Mike", and SFC(R) Landon showed up exactly on schedule - Johnny explained precisely what they were going to do and how long it would take, and then they got to work. I then realized that the external vent piping they were to install would kinda clash with the color of the home's brick and trimwork - (and given that the neighborhood's home owner's assoc would then likely be writing me nasty-grams,) I elected to paint them to match. Johnny showed me the correct quick drying paint to buy and I hustled out to Ace Hardware to get it - got it, and spray painted the pipes and connecting components. The installation went without a hitch and they finished within the time they had allotted (even though I think they slowed down a bit in order to let me catch up with the painting :-) Post Installation: Johnny explained how the system worked and more importantly how to monitor it in case there were ever any power interruptions to the house (the pump would automatically re-set) He left warranty information and let me know when the independent company would contact me for a post-installation test of the radon levels (included in the installation price :-) Summary: Would recommend this company without reservation. Completely satisfied with their work - friendly, punctual and professional old-school service!

We noticed our fan wasn't working so we called and they came over in 20 minutes! Very knowledgable and friendly and explained everything in simple terms. They did a great job.

Great. Quick response to my initial phone call about the problem. He requested I send him pictures of the unit so he could locate the correct fan. He arrived early for the appointment and finished the work in about 45 minutes. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who needs this service. All in all, a very pleasant experience.

The owner came to quote the job. He was very knowledgeable and made a thorough inspection to determine the best location for the system that would be out of sight. When he gave me the quote he described where the system would be installed, how it was to route out of the basement and were it would exhaust. The quote was for two suction sites and to replace my sump pump. When the work crew installed the system, they were prompt, polite and the installation was very nicely done. They kept all pipes on the interior of my home so there are no external pipes exposed except for a short exhaust port on the roof.

For both the initial evaluation and the install, they were prompt and worked around my very busy schedule. The work was done quickly and efficiently and they cleaned up after themselves. Everyone was friendly and professional.
