MARYLAND RESTORATION SVC

Our insurance adjuster-David Klaes from Tidewater Adjusting in Glen Arm forced us to use this company for our mold cleanup. He and the owner of Maryland Restoration - Howard Webster- have been friends for 30 years, as told to us from both of them. This was our fist red flag! To make a very long story short-we had to move out of our house during the cleanup so we had to trust these people in our home-big mistake!!! These people have no respect for anyone's possessions! They threw out ALL of our belongings that were in our crawlspace and anything that was just outside the opening in our laundry room without notifying us or letting us try to salvage anything! The items (mostly Christmas decorations and ornaments) that might have been able to be saved were put outside in the plastic containers I stored them in only to be ruined by condensation from being put out on my deck for a week! They also did not document what they threw out for insurance purposes so we had to make a list from memory for our insurance-we are still thinking of things that were in there over 2 years later that we didn't claim!  They threw out items that mold doesn't even grow on-which makes me wonder what actually happened to them! Tom Jordan-the "crew leader" promises everything but delivers nothing! We were told they video taped most of the cleanup-but when I asked to see it , was told they never told us this! They were supposed to wipe down every room in the house which was not done properly-you could see where they just sprayed the windows and walls and left it there-didn't thoroughly wipe down anything, this is a very important part of the cleanup when your talking about high levels of mold in the air! And somehow most of our towels went missing when we moved back in and they broke our toilet seat. Our neighbors told us a few weeks later that Mr. Jordan's grandchildren were at our house during the day!!! These people are unprofessional and have no respect at all. They all have license plates from Tennessee but told me they have lived here for over 10 years! ???? Also, the owner, Mr. Webster was constantly calling me asking me for more money since the insurance made the checks out to me and my husband, my husband had to call him and tell him that he would not get the entire lump sum but would get 3 installments as the work is done-since my husband used to be a contractor he said Mr. Webster should have never done this and that is not how it is normally done. Don't use this company!!!!!!!

The first visit was to perform the mildew removal; the second visit was to repair the drywall which included removing bathroom fixtures which left electrical wiring dangling from the ceiling; the third visit was to sand the spackling around the the drywall insert (poor job) and paint the ceiling.  It was only at the end when the light fixture was re-installed that it became obvious a hole remained in the ceiling that was not covered by their patch. 
Second and third visit, they cleaned up in my kitchen sink and left a mess even after asking them not to.
