Salesman was good. Project manager was good (initially). After window was measured it took about 6 weeks for TC to manufacture the window. Upon delivery/install is where the lack of professionalism shone through. Installers left our house a mess and spackle all over the inside window border. They arrived late with no notification that they were going to be late. They did enough to do the job but left everything as a mess. Refer to photos. Currently we are trying to resolve the situation. It is taking a lot of effort from me; TC is not initiating anything to resolve this. The project manager has all but forgotten about us now that they’ve been paid. I will never use TC again.

The work was performed by a well organized and very competent team of installers. Afterwards they cleaned up and removed all debris and installation material. I am very well pleased with the total experience. Well done, Thompson Creek!!!

I have always had a positive experience with Thompson Creek. Everyone from the sales staff to the project coordinator and the installers have always been extremely professional and competent. My project coordinator on the patio door project, Stacy Beales was ready to help throughout the process.

The house I'm living in has windows & doors installed by Thompson Creek. Everything went smoothly and it's definitely impacted our energy bills in a good way. The street noise was reduced as well in the living room, and our storm door is SO much better.

Installers were on time and very professional. Windows look great! Now that it has been a few years I am noticing some air leaks from some of the windows. But They still open and close just like day one.

My house was built in the 1920s and has random, non-standard sizes. The fact that all their doors are custom made was a plus. In any case, I put in a request online at 9:30am on a Friday and received a call in less than 10 minutes to discuss my request. The gentleman (whose I name I can't remember, but I know he's a III and went to an HBCU cause we had a fun conversation in addition to taking care of business) was ready to answer my questions. They were able to make an appointment to come out that afternoon at 2:30 pm. Carl, our salesman arrived promptly at the scheduled time. He was personable and walked us through all of our options, showed us what a difference their product make and let us feel samples. Then he let us take our time making choices. We wanted a custom door knocker and there were several conversations that our salesman Carl, our project manager Victoria, and our quality control measurer had with us and the team back at the office about this issue. It wasn't entirely clear that this custom piece could be added without voiding part of our warranty so we decided to go the safe route. Installation of our two screen doors (including a doggie door) and front and back doors took probably 10 hours; longer than anticipated as we were told 5-8 hours. The doors create a vacuum seal making sure no air is getting in or out. The installers painstakingly paint the trim to match the door color choices as well. It's just top notch.

I am unhappy with the quality of these windows. The screens let in too many flies. It appears that holes in the bottoms of the window frames for the release of water are excellent entry points for flies and other bugs. As a result, I cannot open these windows (with screens) without letting lots of bugs into the house. This appears to be a basic design flaw.

The sales representative, Eileen, and all of the workers who came to perform the daylong job did a great job. We were well informed throughout the entire process and love our new windows and door.

The gentleman who sold us the windows was excellent and probably the best part of the entire experience. Window installation was perfection as it was done in January and all 30+ windows were removed and installed same day with a crew of 5 or 6. No complaints whatsoever. The slider in the basement allowed water to penetrate the house and ruined the engineered hardwood flooring this summer. TC sent a rep, authorized the door to be replaced, as well as the hardware on our new front door which is not withstanding the elements. We took care of the ruined flooring. I have been trying since August to get a response from them and schedule the slider replacement. Crickets. This follow-up experience and total lack of cooperation has overridden any recommendation I would otherwise have been happy to provide before this latest experience.

Installation Team was awesome and the quality of their work appears to be excellent. The initial discussions and negotiations were good. However, overall I was very disappointed and unfortunately cannot recommend them, despite being very satisfied a couple of years ago when they replaced the windows in our home. Customer service seems to have taken a nose dive, communication is severely lacking, and they just don't seem to have their act together any more. Since we were so happy with the window replacement experience, we assumed we would be with the siding and had planned to have T.C. replace our roof next year. We are seriously rethinking that plan. Although the workmanship appears to notch, we don't want to deal with the lack of responsiveness and extended periods on hold whenever we tried to contact T.C. To be fair, after I sent a letter to the CEO, a representative did contact me and indicated they would credit my account a small amount due to the issues (although I haven't been able to confirm that was actually done). Issues we dealt with: 1. Impossible to talk with anyone w/out being on hold at least 5-10 minutes, then asked where my call could be directed only to be put on hold again for extended periods (this happened each time I called) 2. Initial Project Manager I dealt with was non-responsive. She sent me an e-mail to schedule the project; I replied the same day; but didn't receive a response until a couple weeks later (after I had already given up on her and scheduled the job thru someone else). 3. Was told material would be delivered on a Friday with work starting on Monday and asked where I wanted the material delivered. I stated the back porch, only to find out they delivered in in my driveway blocking garage access (fortunately there were no cars in the garage at the time or I would have had to spend several hours moving the material to get our car out.). 4. Was never told there would be a dumpster in front of my house for a week. The job was finished on a Friday but the dumpster not picked up til the following Tuesday. 5. So far found 1 long screw and 1 nail in my driveway and street in front of the house (at least none in any tires). 6. After inspecting the installation, I signed paperwork indicating the job was completed. I was not provided a copy of that paperwork that I signed and was contacted by yet someone else at Thompson Creek several days later indicating they needed a copy of the paperwork I had signed but not been given a copy of. 7. I still have not been provided with information on how I am to pay for the project. I financed thru T.C. and the paperwork specifically states to "give your account number and expiration date to your provider along with your photo id". When I asked the install team at the end of the project how I provided them the payment info, they told me they don't do that (which was understandable). The last thing I want to do is call T.C. again and be put on hold for 5, 10, 15 minutes while trying to find out from them how I can pay them. 8. So far I have dealt with at least 10 different people to get the job done (excluding the installation team). Recommendations: hire a few more people to answer phones; assign customers to a single point of contact to deal with; if material placement is limited to areas only a forklift can access tell people that up front before asking them where they want the material delivered; communicate with customer better.

Very well. They were responsive, arrived on the scheduled day and quickly completed the job. There clean up was also excellent.

Everything was on schedule and well handles including clean up. this was several years ago and we are still pleased and comfortable. Will likely use them again for rest of house.

Thompson Creek kept postponing every hour from the original 2 pm appointment and told me the installation took a hour and half. The crew did not show up till 5:30 pm and occupied my living room till 9:30 pm on a Friday evening. The crew took the blinds and the brackets off but did not put the blinds or the brackets back. After many phone calls, they put the blinds back after ten days. Thompson Creek charged over $3000 for two casement windows (about 1'X6'). The serious delay of appointment, the inexperience of contractors, and leaving blinds unhooked are unprofessional and unacceptable.

It went very well. The workmen did a very,very, good job. Job completed on time. It was sometime earlier this year. Either March 2017 or before.

wonderfully. I had a bid for the job 3 years ago from competitor. Not only did the Thompson Windows do a fabulous job --- they came in under budget--- even though I added the gutter and garden window. The installers were wonderful and my coordinator, Judith, helped me with my HOA (for the new Garden Window.)

This company continues to impress and never disappoints . We are a Thompson Creek house -- all windows and doors. Yesterday, the deadbolt on one of our French doors (installed in 2011) was malfunctioning. I called for service and around noon today June called to say D.J. was on the way. He actually was out front. D.J. made a minor adjustment to not only the door that had the problem, but to the other French door next to it. When Thompson Creek says a lifetime warranty, they mean it. They are a company committed to customer satisfaction . Other companies could take lessons from Thompson Creek on how to deliver an as-advertised product and then stand behind it. Our hats are off to Thompson Creek .... again! Well done!

The service and products are excellent. This was done a few years ago and the windows have held up very well. What I'm displeased about is the pushy and aggressive sales tactics. Rather than give a simple quote over the phone, they insist on making an appointment and coming to your house for a multi-hour consultation that follows a script you cannot escape from. At the end, there an aggressive "right now only" price that they say will go up the moment they walk out the door. Because of that experience I would rather go with a different company in the future.

The Thompson Creek sliding door was of excellent quality. The installers had to do some carpentry on the raw opening for the door frame. My wife noticed that outside noise and temperature was much better controlled by the new door. We are very happy. The no interest loan from TC is now paid off.

Definitely not happy with the service I received. In the days following the installation, I kept noticing things that were wrong. First it was issues with cleanup - there was a pile of dirt & debris left in the entranceway to my bedroom, including a nail that I almost stepped on. Then I noticed that they had left one of their tarps behind in my living room. Not a big deal, but was an initial indicator of their lack of attention to detail. A couple days later, I was standing by my neighbor's house next door and looking up at the front of my home, and from that angle I was able to see that one of the shutters was warped, and not lying flat against the home. Then a day after that, I was hanging shades in the master bathroom and noticed that there was a whole area around the window frame that had not been caulked. Then a day later, I noticed a large crack in the eaves under the roofing of the bay window. I called my contact at Thompson Creek to complain about all the issues I had noticed, and requested that they send a supervisor out to inspect everything top to bottom, to determine whether there were further issues that I hadn't even identified yet. I had trouble scheduling the appointment at first, since they expected me to take off from work and sit around for a 4-hour window waiting for someone to show up, until I pointed out that after the amount of money I had spent, they should be doing whatever they could to address and fix the issues on a schedule that was actually convenient to me. I finally got the site supervisor out, who did find additional issues - other areas that hadn't been caulked, as well as the threshold for the front door that had been installed incorrectly. He fixed whatever he was able to, but the shutter was not fixable at that point since it was so warped (from being installed incorrectly), so they first have to order new shutters, and I have to wait a month for them to arrive and be installed, so in the meantime I have a wonky shutter hanging on the front of my home. After all of the numerous issues (cleanup, caulking, and things installed incorrectly), I requested a refund of a portion of the cost, to be credited back to my credit card. The supervisor I spoke with agreed (after some haggling back and forth), but then a week after he had agreed to the refund I had to call back since it still had not been refunded to my card, and he first had to go to the Accounts Receivable department personally before they finally processed the refund. In addition - when I initially spoke with the supervisor I had requested an email confirming the installation date for the new shutters, and also confirming the fact that they would replace all 4 shutters and not just the wonky one. That email also took about a week and a half, and several follow-up requests, before it was received. Overall, I am definitely not happy with either the workmanship or the service I received from this company. I was particularly disappointed, since I had heard great reviews for this company, including here on Angie's List, and it was part of the reason I had chosen them over my 2nd choice, which was $3,000 less but not as highly rated. I wound up deciding to give them a C and not a F, since the windows are not totally worthless - we've had a few big rains since they were installed, and so far at least I have not noticed any water coming in. So clearly they at least managed to do something right. But it has definitely been an ordeal having to deal with the aftermath of the shoddy workmanship, so I wanted to give an honest review in case anyone else was shopping around for a window company.
