Thompson Creek Window Company

Thompson Creek provided me an estimate for their super-duper gutter system which seemed like a reasonable price so I paid the deposit. However, a few weeks later when the project coordinator came to do precise measurements, I explained my water drainage problem to him. He was honest enough to tell my gutters alone would not take care of my problem. He suggested contacting a landscape and/or plumbing company first. Then he told me I could back out of the Thompson Creek contract even though it was nearly 2 weeks beyond the 5-day Maryland escape clause limit! I took his advise and requested cancellation. No problem! I was told it would take 7 to 10 business days, but it only took 4 days for the deposit refund! I greatly appreciate dThompson Creek being flexible about this contract and further understand the quote is good for a year. Will definitely go with Thompson Creek if I decide to replace my gutters later.

It was a major renovation thing. The project manager never called me back, every time I called her.

They not only reinstalled the gutters and downspouts but also replaced anything which was scratched or damaged when they were taken down.

Perfectly - one worker (Ed) did job by himself in 2.5 hours and I now have a wonderfully functional back slider.

This was the fourth time we've used a Thompson Creek for products. We had 10 windows replaced in one day. The four person team arrived on time and went right to work. Two people removed the old windows while the other two prepped for the new windows. The finish work outside and inside was done by all four and then one person went around and made sure everything was done correctly. While they were here they also replaced the hardware on our screen door which is covered under their lifetime or 50 year guarantee.

Very professional workers and they took their time making sure to install them correctly. What a difference the windows and door makes from a noise reduction to less heat that passes in the sun room. Wow. Great quality product - pricey, but I guess you get what you pay for.

I liked the looked of what they did good workmanship. I thought the price was kind of high, they fixed the piece of weather stripping was loose.

The installers were professional, the sales people were nice, however we were misled from the beginning on how much glass loss we would get. We were told 1 inch, we got 4 inches because the windows were large. They also did not put nearly the amount of insulation in that they showed in their videos. When told of these issues Thompson Creek was very polite and very sorry but has not offered to do anything to fix it. The larger margins are due to structural issues they should have, but didn't, tell us about so there is no easy fix. The only thing we can do is fight with them to get our money back and put in a different type of product and we haven't decided yet if that is worth the pain. In addition, they did not show up with the wood molding we were promised they were going to replace although they did run to a lumber store and purchase the molding so that issue was the only one resolved.

Very well, we are very pleased with everything.

They came on schedule. They were efficient and explained the features of our new doors. We are very happy with the quality of work and of our doors. I was pleased that shortly after the installers were done a quality control inspector/manager came around and checked out all the work and, if I remember correctly, asked us some questions and if we had any questions. A pleasant experience all around.

The sales pitch was very good and having a locally made product gave us confidence in the widows and doors. On the day of installation the crew showed up in time and completed the work in one day and cleaned up, although they left a couple installation products behind, apparently forgetting to collect the items.

They worked with me on coming up with the best window for maximizing the view at the back of the house for the best value. Instead of replacing three windows and three transom windows, they made an oversized upper pane that turned out perfectly.

Everything went well. I wasn't positive I got the best pricing as they went back and forth a bit, but feel satisfied.

They did an amazing job! There were a few surprising obstacles but they overcame them easily.

We did not hire them because of their estimate, even with an immediate 30% discount, it was twice and three times as much as anyone else we interviewed. $39,000 before the discount was applied. We got estimates from two other companies and got a great job for about $9,000. Then there was the representative, who didn't go out on the roof which was unlike any of the other companies I interviewed. I have been involved in putting on several roofs over the years and when I asked some leading questions about the work the sales representative got rude and hostile. He had never sold nor put on a roof before. Overall, this sales call was awful. Pricy, lacking in product knowledge, and unpleasant -- and that was just getting the estimate. I can't imagine actually trying to get a roof done.

It went very well. We were pleased with them. They said when they said they would and when we called them about an issue they came back immediately.

They were here ahead of time, they were courteous and the service was excellent. They also cleaned up when they were done and we had no problems.

Very professional - arrived on time (9:00 a.m.) and left earlier than anticipated (3:30 p.m.). Immaculate workmanship - no sign of mess either inside or outside of house when they left.

Salesman was great. Low pressure. Very personable. We ended up signing up to just do five windows at the sales call. The next day I called the salesman and said we were really only comfortable doing three windows (by law I had three days to cancel contract) and he said just to tell the gentleman who came out to do the measurements that we only wanted to proceed with three. Well, when the man came out to take measurements and I told him this, he said, "you signed a contract for five." I explained further and showed him the email from the sales rep that said it was fine to cancel the extra two windows at the measurement appointment. After that, he went along with it but I was a little irritated that he gave me a hard time about it after I had been assured by the sales rep it wouldn't be a problem. In any event, they installed the three windows in a timely and professional manner and I am happy with the result. I still need to complete the remainder of the windows in my house but am not 100% sure I will go with them or another company. They are definitely a contender. I feel that I need more quotes. I've heard much lower estimates from neighbors, however, I'm not sure if those contractors have the same robust 50 year warranty.

The crew that came out were courteous, hard working, and kept us appraised of their timeline. They performed all work and extra trim work in one day.

They were good expensive too but not quite as bad as the door. They look good.

They did a good job. It looks good it turned out very nice. They helped me pick out the color. I liked them it looks good. I like them they were very professional.

They did a really great job. They worked consistently and were on time and did a very professional job. When we had a warranty claim due to a tree falling and breaking a window, they fixed it professionally with no argument whatsoever.
