Ted was thorough and professional in examining the flooded area for any damage that needed to be repaired. In this case, because we were very quick to pull the carpet up out of the flooded corner and set up a dehumidifier immediately, there was no damage for Puroclean to repair. Having been through a serious mold remediation effort previously, it probably would've been easy to sell us on removing sections of the wall or carpet. I appreciate Mr. Porter's integrity in telling us that we didn't need Puroclean's services in this case. I would definitely call them again if we have any future flood damage.

We had water damage in the basement of our home as a result of Hurricane Sandy. Although we have a reputable home insurance company (USAA), Puroclean was the only company we contacted that was willing to work with our insurance company so that we only had to pay the deductible up-front. The project team leader, Aaron, even spoke with our insurance adjuster on the phone before the work commenced. All the competitors that we called indicated that because of the volume of claims related to the storm, we would have to pay the entire fee up front and then try to collect from our insurance company later. The owner, Ted, has been very professional to deal with as have all his employees. They came promptly at the time we agreed to and even threw in several days use of an air scrubber at no extra charge as a precaution because we have a small child in the house. Since we had never experienced a flooded basement before, we did not know what to expect but the team worked quickly and efficiently to remove all the water and damaged drywall from our house, set up the airmovers and dehumidifiers, and apply the anti-microbial agent to help prevent mold growth. Aaron did a great job of explaining the scope of the job and gave us an estimate before they started the work. The staff seemed very thorough in identifying all the areas of the basement which were affected by the water, even pointing out to my husband where some of the drywall they removed had mold growth. Aaron came back every day to check on the basement and make sure that it was drying out appropriately. There was one area of drywall which did not need to be removed but was damaged by the remediation team when they were removing sections of damp drywall. After we mentioned this to Aaron, he returned within a few days to repair the affected area damaged by his team. All in all, we are very happy with the services provided by Puroclean and how they have patiently dealt with our insurance company's claims process to minimize out of pocket costs for us. We would highly recommend them. NOTE: the $3250 price is the total approximate invoice price and does not reflect any reduction for insurance coverage.

I have mixed feelings about this company. We had a leak that flooded the carpeted area of our basement. When we called them, they came out the next day and examined the basement. The assessment was that there probably wasn't mold under the carpet and all it needed was to be dried out and the carpet cleaned. So they brought in several industrial sized fans and dehumidifiers, which they left in the basement for a few days. After the carpet was dry, they cleaned it. They charged us $500 for that, which seemed high, but then they did come the next day and they didn't insist that there had to be mold under the carpet and so charge us for expensive mold treatment. During the recent storm (Sandy), we again had a leak that ran into the carpeted area. I called them again, but this time the experience wasn't so positive. They said they could come the next day but didn't give me a specific time. Around noon I called to see if I could get some idea about when they might be there, and they said I wasn't on the schedule! But they had a guy who could come over, so they sent him. He came fairly promptly and looked around thoroughly. We discussed various options about how to deal with the situation this time, and during the conversation the guy told me several times that he wasn't local, he was from Dallas, so didn't know much about the climate here. He did however come up with a recommendation, this time drying the carpet out, pulling it up, treating the floor for mold, and cleaning the carpet. Maybe. There were other options too, which he described. He didn't want to give me a recommendation, though, because he wasn't local and wasn't familiar with the local climate. When I asked how much the various options would cost, he said he couldn't give me an estimate because he didn't work for the local company and couldn't speak for them. You get the idea! Why was he even here? But he told me he would give them the information he had collected and that the company would call and tell me what they thought it would all cost. Long story short, I'm still waiting for that call (it's been a month). They never called back, and frankly I wasn't very motivated to follow up myself. Maybe they were very busy this time because so many people had water damage, but after this second experience, I'm not sure I'd call them a third time.

When my basement flooded I called Ted Porter and PuroClean office and they handled the situation like true professionals. They were careful and respectful of my things and they worked quickly. They were excellent! I have never come into contact with a service industry that was so helpful and knowledgeable. I would recommend them to anyone.
