+ -1 moreSo technically, carpets were cleaned; professionally there is room for improvement as these issues are relatively easy to fix if the company cares about it's impression in the market place. Areas for improvement:Call ahead of scheduled time. We were given a two hour window between 8AM - 10AM. By 9:30 no one had arrived or called, I called their office at 9:35 which was simultaneous with the service arriving. So technically on time, but a call in advance would have provided a little more comfort that we weren't forgotten about and the team was still on schedule.Also, professionalism. The gentlemen were very wrinkled as though they litterally rolled out of bed with their clothes on. Wrinkled from head to toe (shirts and pants) BOTH gentlemen! Also, one had pants that were ripped near the pocket (visibly). This FIRST IMPRESSION before they walked through the door gave a moment of pause, wondering whether the actual work would reflect their sloppy appearence. On some level, sloppy appearence delivered b- level service.They inquired about whether it was ok to park in the front of our building and bring their cleaning equipment in through the front doors. There was no issue.We showed them the areas to be cleaned and noted that the spots should be easy since they were beverage stains.They moved the ancillary items (waste baskets,--placed on desk tops; moved chairs to various places)They cleaned the carpets.While we were pleased that the team used a cotton type of cleaning head on their machine, it left numeous frays of white cotten strings all over the carpet in every space cleaned. We asked that they vacuum again, but was told that since the carpet was still damp that they could not vacuum the strings any better and that we would have to vacuum ourselves later! This was disappointing, because who expects to have to vacuum after JUST getting the carpets cleaned? Overall, they removed the spots with ease and cleaned the carpets. The gentlemen displayed descent attitudes and were not rude even when the strings were brought to the conversation as a point of correction; for which they said they could not fix, or come back to do later when the carpets were dry. Finally, they DID NOT put anything back to its original place! While we focused on the strings and vacuuming matter, we did not realize that the items were not returned until after they left! This was very disappointing.

The Chem Dry process is much better than steam cleaning as everything doesn't stay wet and soggy for a long time (although they only use that on the carpet, not on the upholstry - so the couch took a little longer to dry). They try to upsell you on some things when they are onsite - I forget exactly what - but they do a good job explaining the benefit (or lack thereof) of each item. They were successful at removing most of the mess in our carpet, although some had been there prior to purchasing our house and they aren't magicians - carpet is a fabric and if has been permanently changed, no amount of cleaning can fix it. Their price was reasonable (used a coupon) and we were happy with them. We will use Omega again.

+ -1 moreI wanted a thorough vacuuming so I did my own and can't vouch for how that well that aspect would have been done. The carpet cleaning was OK but I do not believe Chem-Dry cleans as thoroughly as steam cleaning. I believe the Chem-Dry process only surface cleans carpets as a very light application of solution is applied and then the carpet 'scrubbed' with a large buffer. Steps are done with a typical hand-held polisher as would be used for polishing automobiles. Our carpet was relatively quite clean with no spots so the job turned out OK. Perhaps ChemDry would be satisfactory as an in-between method.
Description of Work: Cleaned carpet; did not have add-ons such as Scotch-Guard, etc. applied.

+ -1 morePet stains did not come out using their product, PURT; however, afterwards I used a commercial product and got almost all of the stain out myself. In one hallway and the bedroom there had been damp carpet as a result of a toilet leak in an adjacent bathroom. The product they used to deodorize/sanitize left a very unpleasant odor, worse than the wet carpet smell. Almost like a smell when something has burned. I reported the problems but got no follow-up from the company.
Description of Work: Deep Clean of Dining Room, Living Room Stairs, 2 Hallways and 1 Bedroom carpet, pet urine removal treatment in living room and dining room, protectant and deodorizer/sanitizer for all areas.

However the carpet had not been cleaned in several years and the on site cleaners charged $240 to pre-clean the carpet which was not in the telephone estimate. The telephone person should have asked how long it had been since the carpet was cleaned and advised me that there could be extra charges. I am not objecting to the extra charges, just the way the office handled this. The men had to work very hard just to get the carpet ready to clean. I would not have taken the job for $240!!

+ -1 moreThe day of the appointment, they called to ask if they could come earlier than scheduled because they were running ahead, so that was nice. The men were polite and respectful. They did not, however, move any furnishings at all and only cleaned around everything, even though the coupon stated that all cleaning includes basic moving. I had to ask them if wouldn't they please do under the sofa if I moved it myself, so they finally moved the sofa & cleaned where it had stood. The carpets did look better afterwards and they did dry fairly quickly. For the price I paid I was satisfied.

+ -1 moreTHE SERVICE WAS GOOD, THE TECHNICIANS VERY PUNCTUAL AND PROFESSIONAL, AND HELPED MOVE FURNITURE OUT OF THE WAY. THE CHEM DRY PROCESS IS NICE BECAUSE IT NEEDS LITTLE TIME TO DRY. HOWEVER, AFTER SEVERAL DAYS, IT SEEMS THE SPOTS START SURFACING AGAIN AND THE CLEAN LOOKING CARPET IS BACK TO LOOKING SPOTTED AGAIN. I PREFER THE STEAM CLEANING PROCESS.
