We had a roof leak in our basement following the last storm and I called four companies to come and give me an estimate on repair or replacement depending on how the insurance claim turned out. Only Don, the owner of Holliday Home Improvements, showed up with a material booklet of the materials he would use and explained the claim process and how he would be working with it. One of the companies never showed up, one of the quotes was so far below the others I was concerned about the quality, and the other one was just a little over the Holliday quote. We went with Don because he impressed us with his willingness to explain the entire process, and provide the material information even before we were clients. He also scheduled his crew as quickly as possible to prevent further damage, and his crew came early and cleaned up every evening because it was a large roof. I'd had a roof replaced years prior, and I was extremely impressed with the work done by the Holliday Home Improvements crew, who gave me an impressive roof within the quoted price. Holliday was very good at communicating the schedule and working with me and my wife separately. The crew was polite and thorough, I would recommend them whole heartedly.

Our roof was last installed in 1998 and had served us well for slightly more than the 20-year warranty period. It had cost us $8,000 at that time. We got quotes from several companies that ranged from $15,000 through $37,000. The Holliday projected cost was the lowest so I read the reviews and was satisfied that we could get a new roof, warrantied for 50 years, with at least satisfactory service. My family and I do not regret this choice. Actually, we were most pleased by the extreme attention to detail, the professionalism, the supervision from start to finish personally by Mr. Holliday. The fact is that we have an extremely large roof area (including a 4-car carport) and every inch of it was rain- and storm-proofed exceptionally well. All the major work was done in one day by two crews, with the guttering done the next. It was an awesome job done by the Holliday Home Improvement, Inc. team. Mr. Holliday, Kim, Jon, and the rest of the team were all very professional. Mr. Holliday provided roofing work estimates using satellite photos and it was quite accurate comparing with three other contractors we had requested quotes from. He also came out in person to personally inspect and ensure that all material were delivered and work ready to begin. Roofing team showed up at 8:00 am and promptly began work and everything was done by 2:00 pm (given it was a simple roof and not a lot of "valleys and hips"). Roof looks really good. We will keep Holliday Home Improvements in mind for future projects.

Mr. Holliday is excellent. Very professional and honest. He told me that the only fix to my roof problem is to replace the roof, that he wouldn't risk his professional reputation and do a quick fix that would not, ultimately, solve the problem. He pointed out the possibility of my insurance covering it, which none of the other contractors who saw my roof, mentioned. He was very helpful in my dealings with the insurance company as well. His crew was professional, and Mr. Holliday himself inspected the final work. My roof problem was very hard to diagnose, which initially looked like a very small leak in the bathroom wall that lingered for a couple of years. I am so happy the way the whole thing worked out so well. I would hire Mr. Holliday again.

We hired Holliday Home Improvement Inc. to install new roof shingles. After meeting and talking with Don Holliday, and getting a cost estimate, we decided to hire this company. Don was quite forthcoming with information we needed, answered all of our questions, and the information he gave us was consistent with what we had gathered through our research. The work done in a highly professional and satisfactory manner. While the work was in progress, Don stopped by a number of times to check on things. We are quite pleased with the results, would no reservations about engaging this company again.

Don Holliday has a business philosophy which creates a very pleasant customer-contractor experience. He was on site at the start/completion of the project to insure that all items in the contract were delivered and met his standards of excellence. Mr Holiday explained to us the exact problem and what needed to be done. Understanding our circumstances he also suggested things that could be done to buy us a little more time. My husband and I feel holiday home improvements is a very honest company. We appreciated the work that was done and felt it was a very fair price. Needless to say when the time comes for a new roof we will be calling them.

Don replaced my roof and siding, his team and him were very professional and consistently finished ahead of schedule. Their work looks great. I have a worked with a number of contractors and Don has been my favorite.

I requested estimates from four (4) roofing companies. Three sent salesmen / company reps (not actual roofers). Holliday sent himself - Don, the owner - and he was the only one that actually went up on my roof to take a look at the condition and what needed to be done. The other company reps suggested that a satellite view to estimate size was all that was needed. I supposed that's fine fine but having someone actually take the time to really look at the work made a difference to me personally. Here's how the work went: On day 1, the supplies was delivered. Day 2, half the roof was stripped and re-shingled. Day 3, the rest of the roof was completed. It ran like clock work. I came home on day 2 early to run in and then right back out again to get my kids to sports activities. The roofing team was still working and material was all over the place... It was a mess. By the time we got back from my kids' activities though, all of it was cleaned up. I was pleasantly surprised with the thoroughness especially since they had another day of work left. No nails on my deck or sidewalks, no shingle scraps in the yard. Day 3 was similar and again, they did a great job not only on the roof but the clean up too. Someone even returned on day 4 just to scan for extra nails that could have been missed and take one last look to make sure all looked good. I found a few extra nails over the weekend while working in the flower beds, but considering how many nails come out of a roof, I'm amazed I didn't find more. I even climbed up on the roof after they completed the job just to check the work. The area between our screened porch and the house was my biggest concern. Recent rains revealed a serious gap and rain just poured through. Holliday cut our cedar siding and installed flashing under it so it wouldn't be visible. (This wasn't done when the previous owner had the screened porch installed). One company told me they'd just tack it on top of the siding which I think would have really bugged me. The house is getting old and there's a good chance that siding will need to be replaced. Taking the extra time to do it the right way makes a difference. I highly recommend Holliday. Trust the reviews. All of the representatives from the other companies were very nice and provided a lot of good information. But they seemed more concerned with sales. (None of them asked why I chose another company). Holliday wasn't the cheapest, but he wasn't the most expensive either. I'm happy with our choice and actually can't wait for it to rain..
