 + 0 moreOur experience was very positive. Bill really knows his floors and was able to make good recommendations to us based on our needs. He was willing to negotiate a fair price, and got the work done quickly. They took very good care of our house, and I only noticed a few dings to our baseboards due to the fact that they were working in a really tight spot. It's easily fixable with some paint. To echo a previous commenter, their prices aren't necessarily the lowest in town, but they do a great job and are very easy to work with. We will definitely be using them again.
Description of Work: My husband and I have used Bode for two past projects, both times we worked with Bill Kratochwill. In March 2010, they re-carpeted our basement after our hot water heater burst, and then installed laminate flooring throughout our main floor a few months later.

 + -1 moreThey were excellent. They removed everything, including the washer and dryer, out. They matched all of the floor perfectly. They did all of the trim after they did the bathroom. It was really well done. They were very professional. My wife had several estimates, and they were the best.

 + 0 moreBoth sets of installers were polite and professional. Workmanship was fine except for missing a floor vent.
Description of Work: Had the entire house recarpeted and selected Bode Floors based upon previous reports. Salesman was professional and thorough in measuring floors in the various rooms. The 2 installers reported on time and moved all necessary furniture and then left for about 1 hour to eat. I think this became a factor when they came back because they admitted that the job was bigger then they calculated. Toward the end of the installation they were rushing and carpeted over a floor heat vent. It also seemed odd that they claimed their vacuum cleaner was dirty and used mine. The work that was done was good but the carpet in the family room had a factory flaw and was not noticed until the carpet had been installed. I think it should have been checked before leaving the installation warehouse. This required another appoinment to pull the flawed carpet and install the new piece.

 + -1 moreI went to their showroom, which is quite extensive, and viewed products and spoke with a sales agent. I selected a new floor material, and was told about their process, which meets current buidling code, which is to replace the underlayment of the vinyl floor, and not to put a second sheet of vinyl or even a new underlayment on top of the existiing floor. We arranged for a measurer to come to the house, and they include Saturdays on their schedule. Within 2 busines days after the measutement, they provided a price quote, which was competititve, only a little higher than prices offered through the big box hardware stores. (the qutoes I received formt he bix box stores were not for all of the work, they either wanted me to find another company to remove the old floor, or would install a new floor on top of the old floor, and would not trim the doors to fit the higehr floor). Biode was able to come out as early as the next week. Their installers arrived on time, and wokred quietlyy, effienctly, and cleaned up completely after themselves. They also moved and reinstalled applainces in a professional manner. the new floor looks excellent, without shortcuts or flaws. I hgihgly recommend their work!
Description of Work: Remove existing vinyl sheet floor and sub-floor in kitchen, and replace with new sub-floor and vinyl sheet floor.

 + 0 moreThe associate (Erv?) came to measure the house, we went to Bode floors to pick out the carpet, he was extremely helpful, and knowledgeable. The carpet was picked out, a huge discount was given because we had so much to buy, and we scheduled the installation date. The installers came, moved 85% of my furniture (I moved breakable items) and installed the carpet! Easy - peasy!
Description of Work: We had our entire house re-carpeted with eco friendly carpet. The carpet is beautiful, soft, and good for the environment! It looks amazing in the house, and the installers worked quickly, and efficiently. What a difference new, not stained carpet looks in our house!

 + -1 moreI confirmed that the company was a division of Bode Flooring listed on Angie's List and decided to proceed with the measurements as described above. The salesperson arrived for the measurements on time and I agreed to have the work performed. I was called the before the work was to be performed with the time of arrival. The message was left at my home so I returned the call that evening and called the day of installation to be certain that my message had been received. The team arrived about 11:00 am and informed me that the work would take about 6 hours. It actually took about 8 or 9 hours. The team was very professional and consulted me about recommendations on the work for reasons of appearance and my personal preference. They permitted me to ask questions and discussed ways to prevent damage to the flooring such as putting felt pads on bar stool chairs and not to use abrasive cleaners and waxes. They requested to use my bathroom and I agreed because they were very courteous and gave no indication they would misuse the property. They replaced all appliances and adjusted them to my satisfaction. I was very pleased with their work. I had to call the company to request the final invoice indicating that the balance was paid in full. I was concerned because I had given the company to charge the balance on my credit card. I also requested a warranty statement and a care of the product statement which have not been received. The failure provide the latter is the reason for the B rating on responsiveness.
Description of Work: Salesperson visited my home to perform measurements, explain the scope of the work and confirm an installation date. The work to be done was moving and replacing of all furniture and appliances, tearing up old vinyl flooring, putting down a plywood under floor ,leveling adesive and placing molding around the cabinets and walls. I was informed that the timing may be later if an out of state team was scheduled to do my work. I would be called by the main office to confirm the time and date of the work. I paid one third of of the cost via credit card.

She showed us all the options, understood our cost constraints and helped us to narrow the choices to a few possible carpets. We could take home the samples and she then came to our house to take all the measurements. The technicians arrived on time and were very professional and fast to remove and haul away the old carpet and install the new carpet. They left the remainder carpet for us to use elsewhere in the house. Good experience.
Description of Work: Replace the carpet in the staircase from the 1st floor to the basement.

 + 0 moresee above. Bode has more less made amends but it still cost me $350. The salesman claims he has put the very same floor in Vet clinics therefore thought it was OK for me. Buyer beware. You think you know how to ask all the right questions then the one you don't ask comes back to haunt you. I did not want to go through the hassle of going to court so settled for this.
Description of Work: Per refin. of my house in 06/09 I did 2 home improvement projects c/o Bode. 1. kitchen floor- OK no problem 2.Dining room floor- lots of problems. I bought a more expensive floor (above what I budgeted).It had an elegant look plus served an important need. I needed a floor that would NOT show pet stains as I have a dog and cat and frequent peeing, poohing, throwing up issues. Mainly from dog who is adopted and has issues. He spends time outside in day time. and I put up a "baby gate" at night to keep in my bedroom. He won't pee in front of me. The salesman said this was a good floor and would last 15 years plus gave me a bottle floor cleaner as a thank you. However,As installers were leaving after installation was complete- they said in broken English " by the way don't use water on dining room floor" First I had heard of it. And was not happy since did not want to have to buy more expensive floor cleaning products. However, there was nothing I could do since floor was put in. and I faithfully bought proper floor products like "Woodpecker". 1 year and 1 month later, I noticed cracks in seams between some tiles (approx. 4). I thought whatever sealing process needed to be resealed (heat seal?). finally in late Oct. or early Nov. someone from company came to see floor. He immediately said it was animal pee that caused it and that tiles were fitted together not sealed (looked fused to me...but I am sure he knew what he was talking about). I did not disagree regarding animal pee because that is why I got the floor! After taking a few days to recover from that shock, I finally called customer service, Reese, about what to do. She said she would get back to me and did not. finally after two weeks, I get a call from the salesman who sold me the floor. apparantly the company was offering some sort of deal. First he wanted to know if I had any left over tiles. No. but he was also was defensive. I was not interested in arguing and contacted Reese w/customer service. She needed to explain to me exactly what was the deal the company was offering. I think that it was to fix or replace floor at a discount, but exactly what were terms were not explained to me. In other words, sure, hey why not...another sale for them one way or another. However, it seems the owner and man who inspected my floor have finally written me off as my problem. I left a message for company owner and he has not returned my call. Bottom line, why would you sell someone a floor that water could not be used on if the customer said upfront the number one issue was pet stains? And a more expensive floor at that. Isn't the salesman's job to say that won't work for what you need. If I am not home and a pet stain sits there all day (no one told me "by the way make sure your animals have no access to floor when you are not home" ) may cause damage. The attitude is I am a bad house keeper. This "let them eat cake" attitude is on the verge of a law suit. While in the beginning I was willing to work something out/compromise, I am not anymore. They will have to install a new floor at their expense. And I love my dining room floor but I did not want a floor I have to worry about constantly. I want an attractive floor that will hold up under wear and tear of animal pet stains. Was the salesman on cloud nine or just happy for a larger commission? I am a single woman on permanent disability= low income. I got my first home at 56 and am now 62. This was my one and only NEW floor for a life time. If I had not told them I had pets it would be one thing BUT I DID.

They vacuumed a window shade off one of my windows and they replaced it quickly and with no hassle. I have gotten estimates from other companies in the past, but always end up using Bode.

 + 0 moreThe saleswoman was very helpful, and they were very, very patient and diligent in helping us find exactly what we wanted. The onsite estimate was a pleasant experience, and again the saleswoman did a great job in asking a lot of questions to cover items we hadn't considered. The carpet installation went fine - they were prompt, worked hard, and left absolutely no mess. Just prior to the installation of the resilient flooring, we discovered some damage that necessitated a delay. Bode kept our materials on hand and didn't pressure us at all as we went through a rather lengthy process of getting the repairs done. When the floors were finally installed, they were very professional, and did such a great job that I couldn't even see the seam. Five years later, it still looks like new. My only concern was the price - based on some conversations with others, I think it may have been a little high, but not excessively so. Based on the service we received, though, I'd go back any time.

She didn't try to pressure me and gave me enough time to make up my mind. There were plenty of samples to look at in the store. There was a miscommunication between the store and the delivery man, so the tiles were delivered later than promised, but when they finally came, they were in perfect condition. The price was in line with the high quality.

 + -1 moreHaving interviewed several hardwood floor providers, I finally found someone who said they could unite the old and new floors together without a noticeable different between the two. They came out and gave me an estimate that was the same as everyone else, but they were actually performing more for the money. They scheduled my work in a timely way, completed the work and I am very happy with the results.
Description of Work: Installers at Bode floors successfully intergrated new hardwood floors with existing ones by weaving the floor boards together. The overall effect is as close to perfect as can be with old and new floors together. They were punctual and were careful with my new appliances, etc. I would highly recommend them.

 + -1 moreThe whole experience was pleasant. Michelle was very helpful in pointing out carpeting that was on special. I had shopped around, so I knew that their prices were good. The installation was easy. The two men arrived on time, removed the old carpet, and installed the new one in about 2 hours. They were careful in moving my furniture, and cleaned up afterward. The seams are invisible. I will use them again when I replace more carpet.

 + -1 moreWe've very happy with the installation. Jim and Roy were prompt, professional, and very meticulous in all they did. There was a minor hitch on the first day because the saleswoman miscalculated the amount of one color of tile, which resulted in the installation taking an extra day waiting for the tiles to arrive from the distributor. She also promised to include a bottle of a specific tile cleaner with our installation, but that was not delivered (no fault of the installers). This is the second time we've used CB Flooring (formerly Bode Floors), and we will use them again despite the saleswoman. We'll also recommend them to friends and family.
Description of Work: Removed old kitchen tile and subfloor; installed new subfloor and tile.

 + -1 moreThe binding looked great and was done much more quickly than I expected (I had the rugs back within a week). The cost for getting the rugs bound was also extremely reasonable. I got two rugs for only $70. You can't beat that anywhere!
Description of Work: I previously had carpet installed by Bode Floors and had the leftover remnants in my basement. I recently decided I wanted to use some of the remnants as area rugs, so I took them back in to have them bound.
