Bode Floors

.They were on time, professional, efficient, appropriately friendly and we are very pleased with the carpets at this time.

Bode Floors was very expensive and they weren't very helpful even though they had a huge showroom. The person at Bode picked out the floor that she thought we wanted, and it was weird. She didn't seem to really listen to what we were telling her because we had specific needs for the room we were putting it in and we had no knowledge of what was out there. She just decided that we needed the certain kind of floor and that was it. She came to the house and measured and gave us an estimate but she just decided it was a certain kind of floor. I think Bode Floors is very expensive. I know they're very popular in the Columbia-Maryland area but I wouldn't use them.

When the carpet was pulled up we discovered HUGE problems. Bode was great! They kept in touch while I hired a contractor to do the work (it was beyond what they were capable of doing). Came back without charge a few times until the subfloor was where it needed to be. After months of issues with contractor, finally got it installed and it's beautiful! Only tiny complaint was there was glue left on some of the baseboards and a door. And found out later that one of the service guys, knew of someone that could have done the floor prep (instead of my contractor) which would have saved time.

All the crews showed up when they said they would and told us the expected length of time they expected for rip-up and installation. They put up plastic barriers when needed between rooms to reduce dust. Before starting they asked if we had a preference of where we would like them to start first to minimize disruption for us. They were professional, neat, and pleasant and actually were a pleasure to have working in our home. All three installation crews did fabulous work with a lot of detail. Could not have asked for a better experience, product and price on these jobs. I had two other estimates for the same work to include a big box store and Bode Floors had a better product (in my opinion) and a better price. The bottom line is we were pleasantly surprised in all aspects of dealing with Bode Floors. PS The floors look great!

We were greeted at the showroom by Beth Kiss Smith, who worked well with us, and patiently answered our many questions. An appointment was made for Beth to measure the house, for which she was on time, careful to be correct, and again satisfied all of our questions and concerns. A schedule was established for the installation, and we received a call the day before to confirm. Matt and Shawn were on time on both of the two days of the two-day installation. They were professional, careful and helpful, moving furniture and other items, and working with us to position moved items properly. We were concerned because the house had just been completely painted, and the job was completed without damage to the walls either from the installation process or the movement of furniture. This is our second experience with Bode, and our choice this time was influenced by our recollection of the first job they did for us about ten years ago.

Showroom hours at the Ellicott City showroom were good, so we were able to make selections without having to take leave from work. Selection and sales people were both good. Communication about schedule and installation were also good. As we were warned, the installers came rather late in the morning and ended up working until 6:00-7:00 in the evening - since it was a short-term two day job, it didn't matter that much, but we would have preferred an earlier start/finish to the day. The installers worked very hard and did a great job. Our only complaint was that one of them sang at the top of his lungs a good part of the day, so it was a bit distracting when I was trying to work at home at the same time. However, they were obviously very detail-oriented, knowledgeable and experienced so the end result was worth putting up with the bizarre singing. We would use Bode again.

Bob was the representative I dealt with. The experience was great. They use their own installers - they don't sub-contract. Those installers were wonderful. We are very happy w/ the results and we would use them again.

I thought long and hard about whether to give an "A" or not. But I think things go wrong in businesses and sometimes and it is how that is responded to which is important. I had difficulty with a salesman responding to all aspects of getting a deal signed and ready. No returned calls, delays with the measuring , and estimate. I sent an email to the president of the company and immediately he gave my job to the director of sales. I hade estimate and contract that day, signed, sealed, an installation date, and even their handyman to install damaged baseboard, which I had not known was my responsibility. His work was excellent. The installers arrived on time, did a beautiful job of installation and replaced each piece of furniture exactly where I wanted. I gave them an "A" because they responded to a problems with an A+ response.

We were very happy with the selection, sales service, and installation process. They were friendly, timely, and professional. Great work - will recommend them and use them again for flooring services.

Martiza Torres was our contact person from the time we entered the store in Oak Lane to discuss our needs to the time it was all completed. She was very nice and focused on our needs and budget. She asked a lot of questions to ensure that we have what we like. Within the week, she came to our house for measurements and to finalize the contract. On the day of installation, after all the old carpet was removed, we realized that the wood was not the correct color. Ms. Torres came immediatelly to our house to discuss the issue, and agreed that it was not the right color. The work was stopped to wait for the new wood. She came at least twice to ensure that we have the right color selected before ordering again. On the second date for the installation, the wood was perfect and the workmainship of the installer was excellent. Great attention to details by the installers resulted to a great product. Despite the delay it was really worth waiting. We would use this Bode office and especially Ms. Torres again, as she is very focused and professional to ensure our satisfaction.

We meet originally with another flooring company in the Sykesville area and their prices seemed pretty high and some of the salesman's talk didn't match up with our experience so we went to Bode Floors in Ellicott City (9469 Baltimore National Pike, Ellicott City, MD 21042). We met with Linda Starbuck (401-750-6080). She was pleasant and her prices were reasonable. She agree to come out in a few days to look at the job. She did and again was very pleasant. We agreed to have her company carpet the room. Two guys came out yesterday and did the install. The carpet looks great. There were a few odd locations in the room and they were able to come up with a solution that worked better that what Linda has suggested. They installed the carpet in under an hour. All in all, the guys were great - I'd use them again if I needed more carpet installed.

It took forever. The installer took his time and many breaks. Used the apartment as if it was his. No asking to use anything.Scratched the cart that the microwave was on. Doors had dirty finger prints on them (they were freshly painted). Didn't evenattempt to clean them. We had to call the installer to come back because there were 4 pieces of molding that either weren'tnailed in or improperly nailed, etc.There was even dirt in the freezer from something he put in there to keep cold and never wiped it up.

I have used them before. They were great. I would definitely recommend them.

First, we used the Bode Floors in Ellicott City off of Rte 40. When my husband and I were looking for hardwood floors we decided to try Bode since it was very close to our house. When we walked into the store the sales guy was very nice and helped us find our exact flooring we needed and talked us through everything. We were very excited to get this completed. For our floors to get laid we had to have our remodeling finished first so we set a date in September for it to be laid. We had to push back our original date because that was the time that the hurricane came through and it knocked out our power for over a week. We could not paint since we had no lighting, and we were not going to lay the floors until we had finished painting. We set another date for a Tuesday, but when my husband talked to the sales guy he said we could get completed on that Monday. I made sure to go into work late so that I could let the workers into the house, and I waited for over an hour when no one showed up. I wanted to cancel with the company then, but my husband asked me to not and that he would take care of it. They then came in the next day and come to find out the guy from the store did not talk to the people who would be laying the floors. Poor communication on the stores part!!!!! When they came to complete our flooring we had asked for wooden vents to match, which were "supposedly" ordered at the same time we ordered the floor. We had the sales guy come out to our house 2 times to measure, so you would think that he would already have the measurements. When I got home that Tuesday the vents were not in and neither was most of the quarter round, along with none of the transition pieces to our basement, bedrooms, etc. It was a few weeks of calling and trying to get everything situated and come to find out the vents were never ordered. AND there had to be another person to do the transitioning, which he didn't come out until almost a month after the floors had been laid. Then when the guy came to do the transitioning he didn't tuck the basement stairs which is a hazard for anyone going down there. I finally had to shoot an email off to the General Manager expressing how angry I was with the process. She had then come through and looked at everything (this was AFTER Thanksgiving......and we started this process in September) and tried to explain why the vents hadn't come in, because they had never ordered them before. So she was very nice, but then she wanted us to pay more on our bill before they would do anymore work (you usually don't pay more until after all the work had been completed). Our floors were finally completed about the 2nd week in December. I would think LONG AND HARD before you use this company!!!!! I was not very happy with the service and now we have a small piece of quarter round that has come up. When I looked closer at the quarter round it was glued down and not nailed. I have gone around the house and noticed that a lot of the quarter round is starting to separate from the walls. I AM NOT HAPPY WITH THIS COMPANY!!!! I would hope that you do not use them, and if you do...GOOD LUCK!!!!

Salesman Irv was pleasant and seemed knowledgeable. Said would get back to us with an estimate. After not hearing from them we called to see where the estimate was. We then received an e-mail estimate. The estimate did not break down the job in a way that we could compare with other estimates. We had asked to separate the carpet from the hardwood floor. It only showed the total job. After another phone call we were able to get the breakdown we needed. These people were the longest getting the estimate information back to us. What is interesting when we indicated a day we would make our decision to choose the vendor, they immediately contacted us to ask if we had decided. We went with another company.

. I went to Bode to look at samples Maritza was very helpful. She gave me some great ideas and provided large samples for me to take home. Once I placed the order we set a date for the laminate to be installed. The installer was punctual and he did a beautiful job. Next we scheduled the carpet installation. Bode would like for customers to remove as much from the floors and furniture as possible (which is difficult in a condo). When the first team arrived, the lead person was rude would not do the job because there were so many boxes. His assistant was very polite and explained why they could not do the job that day. I moved some more items and rescheduled. A different team arrived and worked diligently and did great job cleaning up and installing the carpet.I would certainly use Bode again.

Bode floors was reasonably priced. The service was great. I would highly recommend them for carpet installation and hardwood floor repair.

The folks at Bode Floors were just great! They took the time to explain all the options we were exploring, including prices, colors, materials, etc. Since we have 2 chihuahuas, they also went over what the best pet-friendly options would be. We elected to go with laminate flooring, with some tile work at the front and back doors. They gave us a schedule for the work to be done, and they stuck to it to the minute. Each crew they sent out (tile man, floor men, and the follow-up rug tacking down man) were polite, efficient, and did a simply wonderful job! The fellows who actually removed the old rug and installed the flooring were very careful in moving our furniture, moving it back when they were done and they even dusted it off! They also were great in cleaning up after themselves. A definite A + to Bode Floors of Annapolis for a job well done!

I liked them. Their price was a little high. It went beautifully from start to finish. I hired a local guy and it was the worst that I had ever seen. I lost money as he ripped me off. He only did a part of the job and it was horrible. Bode Floors came in and fixed that room as well as the other room and the hall. They did it beautifully. They will be doing some more work for me in September 2011.

We contacted Bode flooring in Ellicott City to replace carpeting in small upstairs hall with laminate. Initial contact was good, estimate was given on time. There were 2 choices given for shoemolding and I visited their showroom to look at both products. Prices were very close, so I chose based on the match in the showroom. Installers were very good; on time, polite, and provided good quality of work. Our issue came up when I looked at the work when they were finished and saw that the molding did not match AT ALL, and was clearly not what I chose in the showroom. The installers said I should call and Bode would "take care of it". I did call, and was told that all products have natural variation, and that if I was not happy I could pay and additional $280 for them to fix it. After further discussion, they offered to discount the price by $20. I should add, that the amount of time it took to install the molding was but a small fraction of the time they spent on the floor. I wish i could say this was a better experience, but I would definitely not use them again. They could have handled the issue so much better.....

The day I went in to finalize the "deal" w/ Mr. Needle, there was another distressing moment w/ another of his co-workers. A man who is now also retired. I had forgotten my notes and we were putting together what I had been looking at. The co-worker got mad at me and said I did not know what I was talking about. I asked him to stop. He finally did but not before putting in his 2 cents worth of " there were more important things in life than..." = he got the last word in and also to judge me. I contemplated walking out and frankly wish I had. I guess this was a omen. Mr. Needle was always very polite and nice. But he did not give me the important information to make a decision. The result will be I will be mistrusting of all sales men even more than I was before I went to Bode floors. I see nothing from Bode that leads me to believe they will be any better (Bode bought this floor company in 2009= I forget the previous name). Bode reflects a A rating. I am sure there are happy customers. But I am not one of them. So "buyer beware" especially single women on modest incomes. I would sue them if I thought anything would come of it. Want to settle out of court then give me in writing that when this dining room floor falls apart before 10 years to give me another floor at half price. The kitchen floor that was cheaper wears like iron.
