Overall my experience has been great. First, on the heat pump installation in 2008, everyone involved was great. Very professional, knowledgeable, friendly. They arrived on time, completed the work on time, were respectful of my property, etc. They were also in good contact. The cost matched their estimate. We did not hesitate to contact this company again for the AC/furnace/water heater work we had done in 2011. Their work went above and beyond expectations. They took a very scary basement full of rusting pipes and leaking tanks and turned it into an accessible space with functioning (and even good looking) machinery! As with the previous work, they arrived on time, completed the work on time, were respectful of my property etc. Again, the cost matched their estimate. They were flexible and overall wonderful to work with.

The salesman/estimator from John G. Webster explained the conversion process from oil to gas in great detail. He answered all my questions. He also explained what I needed to do with Washington Gas once the new furnace was in place. On the day of my appointment, the crew arrived on time and set right to work. At the conclusion of the job, they cleaned up thoroughly.

I have been pleased with their work and their pricing is lower than most. I have recommended them to others. They were timely, cleaned up well, and did what they said they would. I cannot say enough good about them.

Overall, I was pleased with them. They did real good work. I have not had any issues with them.

I was very impressed with the company. I had spoken to the president of the company and he had given me the estimate. He was extremely thorough and pointed out safety issues related to plumbing that were unrelated to the job. They were issues that were never pointed out to me before. The work was done very quickly at a more than competitive price because his price which was the same as that quoted by others included two additional repairs unrelated to the water heater. He made sure that he had the DC permit, and also arranged for the DC inspector to come in and approve the work. He also followed up to make sure that I was satisfied with their work. He was extremely professional and so were the crew.

I called in the morning and they were able to send out a technician that afternoon. Very accommodating to my schedule. I bought this old house about 2 years ago - John G. Webster was the company that had installed the hot water boiler 4 years ago, and then an expansion tank 2 years ago right before I moved in. The problem was for two winters in a row, there was some dampness in my carpet near the boiler where excess water was coming out of the escape pipe. It was getting to be a lot of water, about 1/2 gallon a day. Why I'm disappointed is that the technician couldn't figure out the problem. He speculated I'd need about a $350 repair to replace a valve but wasn't sure. I got a second opinion who discovered the expansion tank shutoff valve was closed, which meant it was effectively not working. Granted the second technician almost missed it too--- because it was too simple --- but this the company that installed it originally should know their own equipment.

I called on a Sunday and they fit me in the next afternoon. They told me a time between 2 and 4 and called on Monday to confirm. The technician arrived shortly after 2. He completed the work in about 30 minutes.

They did all the work in less then two days. They covered up all the carpet when they were working. They showed up on time to do the work. They cleaned up everything when they were done working.

They missed the first appointment. They essentially fixed the leak. The stem had been damaged, and they replaced it. I had to get the plumber to return to the job the same day. I wanted the entire job to be completed the same day. They said that the water heater needed to be replaced and then replaced it for me. They had difficulty finding the shut off valve, although I told them where it was located. They walked through the entire house looking for it. They rearranged the pipes making it difficult to get into the furnace room. I had to tell them to put their trash in a trash bag that I put nearby. I could smell the gas from their torch as well. They also had some suspicious activity with the invoice.
