This is THE company to replace your windows! From the first call to the the final inspection nothing but the utmost pressure free professionalism. I had called four companies for estimates. Two of the companies were dismissed when they insisted on having my spouse present for the home visit. I called "A Better Home" on off hours, left a message and within 5 minutes received a return call from one of the owners. Set a date for a visit. 10 minutes later received a call from the other owner to make sure my call was returned.Prior to the visit i received an emai describing their services, reputation and containing referrences. Little did they know that i was already impressed with Angie's List reviews. The estimate visit was very smooth. There was ZERO pressure. He patiently went over the different types of windows available and the difference between them. I was interested in replacing 4 windows in front of the house. He measured and gave me an estimate. The cost was so reasonable that i decided to replace all 16 windows in the house. He gave me a time estimate as to when the windows would be ready. Eventually a date was set. I felt comfortable enough with the company that we had nobody present for installation. When i got home from work the windows were installed and the house seemed cleaner than when i last saw it. The installation is perfect. From the frist evening we noticed we had a new house. The cold draft from my 30 year old windows was gone and we noticed that the house was much quieter. You basically can not hear much of the outside noise. Very happy with the service, the windows and the professionalism. Stop looking for other contractors....this is the one to replace your windows.

From my first meeting with Gabriel Kemmerer I knew that this was the company I wanted to work with. Mr. Kemmerer arrived at my house ane we first discussed what services I was considering. Prior to hisw arrival, he drove around the neighborhood to look at windows in other houses. We looked through my house so that he could see what my windows were like. He then showed me the windows which would be installed, should I choose to use their company. He told me the advantages of their windows as opposed ot the windows I currently had. I decided that this was the company that most impressed me. The decision was based on the soft sell as welol as the quality of their windows. As I had to get permission from the representatives of my housing community, he knew there would be some down time. Never once did I receive any nagging or hard sell phone calls. Because of the way the plans were written up, including the re design mentioned.above, I received complete approval from the powers that be. This is almost unheard of. Following the approval of the plan, a date for installation was set. On that date, four workmen arrived. Not only did they replace the windows with great efficiency but, they re-hung curtains andd pictures. T^hey also vacuumed the floors. It was hard to believe that any major project was performed in my house. Mr. Kemmerer was also present to explain issues about the installation and to make sure everything was going as expected. I was more than satisfied with this company and anyone else who chooses to use them is fortunate as they have made a wise decision. Joe responded quickly to the message I left. He asked questions to understand what we actually needed. He set up an appointment and was on time. He explained the different options and made some recommendations. The windows were installed efficiently and professionally. Joe stopped by after the installation to be sure we were satisfied with the job.

We found this company through an Angie's List Big Deal. It was very easy to contact the company and schedule the initial appointment. Gabe, one of the principals, measured the windows we wanted replaced, gave us an estimate and explained the features of the new windows. We did a little more research on the windows that he proposed, and Gabe came back to sign the contract and pick up a check for about 1/3 of the total job. There was no pressure to sign immediately. He wanted us to be satisfied with the windows we were getting. Gabe had to order the windows, which took about 2-3 weeks. The windows came in about a week before Thanksgiving, but he agreed to do the installation the week after Thanksgiving. Two workers performed the installation, and were in and out the same day. They were very professional, worked quickly, and cleaned up the areas where they worked. Gabe came back at the end of the day to check the work, demonstrate the tilt mechanism, and pick up the check for the balance. The new windows fit perfectly with no drafts, and seem to have made those rooms quieter as well as warmer. I'm looking forward to savings on our energy bills. My experience was excellent. It was one of the best customer service experiences I have ever had. They literally replaced the panes for windows that I had not purchased from them for free. One of my other windows that I didn’t purchase from them was off track and they noticed that and just offered to fix it for free too. They also offered to caulk windows free of charge. They are absolutely a great company and I would highly recommend them. Gabrielle and Joe really stood behind their warranty.

From start to finish the job was handled with professionalism and courtesy. I dealt with Gabriel and for the most part only Gabriel during the entire job (sometimes I would talk to his brother Joe). The work they did is outstanding and Gabriel stands by his word when he says they don't take final payment until the job is done. He took the time to explain the new windows and instruct me in the operations of. A great experience and in a year or so I will have Gabriel do my windows in my own home! Great job and I highly recommend!

They did a great job. They were honest, easy to work with, and provided a great quality product. They were very fair and they responded to calls instantly.

Fast, neet and professional, Left the area as good or better than they found it. The whole job took 5 hours. The owner Gabriel was on the job checking shortly after they started and right after they finished. He examined every window. I was very impressed.

Work started around 9:30 am and finished around 5 pm that evening. It went smooth and fast.

While I was at work, my German Shepherd broke the glass in the front room of my rowhouse. I contacted Kelemer Bros. late that evening (around 8:00 pm) and Joe Kelemer promptly returned my call. Joe is a great guy and an absolute pleasure to work with. He was professional and attentive from the start. He never pressured the sale and worked with me to find the best window solution. When Kelemer Bros. was done with the install, Joe Kelemer stopped by the house bearing a bottle of wine to show his appreciation for my business, to check on the workmanship of his product and to give a quick tutorial on how to maintain the new windows. While he was at the house, he was kind enough to fix a broken window (that Kelemer's did not install) upstairs for free. Hands down, it was the best home repair service I have ever had. I'm not sure Kelemer's are the cheapest guys in town, but it's hard to imagine there is a better replacement window company in the area. My only regret is that I didn't use the coupon on Angie's list...next time I'll pay attention.

On a previous visit, (7/20/2011) they came to my home and realized the windows did not fit their sizing (too small). Although they measured from the outside and thought they could do the work, inside was a different story, and turned out that the windows did not fit. They still sat down with us and explained the issue, and tried to help us find an alternative solution. They were very nice and professional, and the prices were among the best in town. Their signs are ubiquitous which means they must be doing something right. Would have used them if it weren't for my windows being a very small size. UPDATE: 4/2013 - we used this company for an egress window. I messed up and forgot to call in to pay for the window, but he still got it to me within my time-frame. Fantastic company and the window is GREAT!!! VERY efficient (.21 rating for casement). I strongly recommend!

After I made an appointment for an estimate, Gabriel came very promptly. His estimate was accurate, brief and to the point. He did not waste my time. On the day they installed my windows, the workers arrived promptly, actually a little early, and worked efficiently. It was an extremely hot day, so it must have been very tiring, but they were speedy and neat. My house was left immaculate.

They came in the morning and it took them almost the whole day. They removed all the old windows and door.They cleaned up afterwards. It was good they had a whole crew so that it was all done in one day. The windows are still working great after 5 years. The old windows were aluminum and the new ones are vinyl. You can stand by the new windows when it is cold and you are warm. The old windows had drafts and felt cold to the touch. They gave me the cheapest bid by far but came highly recommended so I felt confident they could do the job. I am glad they did it.

Overall the process went withput a hitch. It took about 4 weeks for the windows to be manufactured and about 6 weeks for the door, so A Better House installed the windowsas soon as they were ready and completed the job two weeks katerl

These guys are THE BEST! Gabriel came out, gave me a price (very reasonable I might add) while he was there. The windows came in about 3 weeks later and they installed ALL of them in one day! We had the old steel frame windows so this was NOT an easy job to complete in a day but they did! Gabriel told me they would stay until it was completed and at about 6 pm they guys were just getting ready to leave! THEN when I returned home Gabriel was waiting there with a bottle of wine-he said they do that for all their customers and I think that is a wonderfully personalized way to do business. I would HIGHLY recommend this company to ANYBODY because they do what they say they're going to do which is quite rare these days! They cleaned up their mess before leaving and proted all of our shrubbery, etc while removing the old windows. Don't look any further because you will NOT get a better price or a better finished project!

The windows look wonderful and the quality of the work is very high. Joe Kelemer was responsive, professional, and courteous throughout the entire process. His installation crew was tidy, hardworking, and respectful. I would highly recommend them to anyone. The fact that they are a locally owned, locally operated company is icing on the cake.

Sales Experience: From the original estimate Gabriel was outstanding. He always has a smile & is a pleasure to deal with. Gabriel told me about the windows he sells and their company and there is no deadline to sign a contract. He had no problem with me thinking it over for a while. I had multiple companies in my house to bid and I truly appreciate the no pressure sales approach. Price: I priced around and no one offers more value for the dollar. And if I find someone cheaper, I know they have a price assurance guarantee. This allowed me to buy with a little more confidence that I was getting the best deal. Quality of Windows: Before having them come to my house, I had never heard of Dove Windows. Alside & Vytex and a few others I had heard of, but not Dove Windows. I asked this question to Gabriel, and the reason is because Dove windows does not make their windows available to inexperienced builders or installers. So in other words, you've got to get the ok from Dove to install them so not as many people can offer them. In contrast, you can get anybody to install an Alside or Vytex window, even if they don't know what they are doing. So it's a quality control thing. And, by the way, the quality of the window is excellent. For the double hung triple pane windows I got, the frame is a DP50 which is much more sturdy. I think Vytex is a DP 35. The spacer system is the most modern system. The U factor, Solar heat gain, & condensation resistance are outstanding. So it is a very high quality window! Scheduling Job: I kept having to change the dates for my install b/c of changes at work and other things going on in my life. They were very flexible and never gave me grief. I think I changed the install date at least 5 times! I think that would be annoying to most companies! Customer Service: This is something they pride themselves on. Every time I called or emailed, I got responses quickly. They truly are better than any other company I have dealt with in regards to communication. Another thing I liked is that I have dealt exclusively with the owner from the beginning. He also came to the job site, checked everything, answered my numerous questions, and made sure everything was going smoothly. Quality of Install: Like they say with everything, it doesn't matter how good the product is if it isn't installed correctly. The crew showed up promptly at 9 AM, the agreed upon time. I had lead paint on my windows so they followed all lead precautions to a tee. They draped everything and cleaned up very carefully by both wiping everything & using a HEPA vacuum. The trim work is great & the windows look beautiful! Installation was outstanding! Future Jobs: I would definitely use this company again.

I contacted Joe Kelemer in February to get an estimate on replacing the windows in our home. The house was built in 1972, and all of the windows were the original Anderson wood windows. Many of them were in bad shape. We had considered replacing them in the fall of 2010, but we only got one quote (from Thompson Creek), which was in the neighborhood of $15K for 16 windows, which was more than we were willing to pay at the time. In February, we decided to re-think doing the windows and to get a couple of other estimates. I found A Better House on Angie's List, saw they had good reviews, looked at their website a little bit, and scheduled a day for an estimate. The day of the estimate, Joe came over to take measurements, tell me about the windows, and answer my questions. He speaks quickly, but I never felt like I was being pressured. Joe struck me as an honest and trustworthy guy interested in doing a quality job. It was clear to me that he knew windows inside and out - he explained the different energy efficiency measures, and pointed out some of the nice features of the windows they use (Dove vinyl windows). We were looking to replace 14 double-hung windows and two small basement windows with new vinyl windows. After taking the measurements, Joe worked up the estimate and walked me through it. They offer double- or triple-pane options for the double-hung windows, and we talked a bit about the differences between the two. To me, the windows were of as-good or better quality than the Thompson Creek windows I had seen. I was pleasantly surprised at the estimated cost - less than half of what Thompson Creek had quoted us. I was so impressed with Joe, the product, and the price, that we didn't even bother to get an estimate from another company. I called Joe soon afterwards to finalize the details and sign the contract. We live on a somewhat busy street, so we ended up doing triple-pane windows on the second floor bedrooms that face our street, and double-pane on the rest. Joe swung by our house one evening a few days later to review everything, answer any other questions I had, and have me sign the paperwork (the whole process took less than an hour). Joe told me it would be 4-6 weeks before the windows were ready and we could set up an installation date, and that it should be a one-day job. Once Joe had received the windows, we scheduled an installation date for April 11. The day of the installation, Joe's crew showed up on time and got to work quickly. They draped plastic over beds and other furniture to minimize the mess, and vacuumed up in each room once the windows were installed. Joe came by around lunchtime to see how things were going and to talk with me. Everything went very smoothly and they were all finished in the early afternoon. Joe came by again once everything was done to show me how to work the windows, give me some pointers about a few things, and let me know that I could feel free to call him if anything came up later with the windows or the installation. He even brought us a bottle of wine! Our new windows have been in for a week now, and we couldn't be more happy with the entire process. The exterior of our home looks much better, and we've been able to enjoy some of the recent warmer weather. Plus, my wife and I have both noticed that we are sleeping more soundly, which may be because we can't hear the cars going by outside anymore. Joe and A Better House did a great job for us, and we'll be recommending them to any of our friends that are in the market for replacement windows. Work was done as promised. We had difficulty and mis-communication scheduling the installation. This resulted in phone tag for a few days. Overall, work done was done well. The owners called for a followup to address any concerns and make sure we were happy with the installation.

Gabriel is fantastic. I really wish we had two homes so he could replace those windows as well! Sincerely, we enjoyed working with him *that* much! Gabriel is professional to the Nth degree, but it was the no-pressure sales job, the super-competitive price, *and* the ultra high-quality product that sold us. We looked at many manufactures and installers and "Replacement Windows" offered *by far* the best quality product and best price. Honestly, if money were no object we'd have still gone with Gabriel. Excellent, excellent, experience.

The estimate was fair and no high pressure sales. I appreciated that this is a local company and took an interest in my home and community. It took awhile to get the windows once they were ordered, however, it was a very busy time due to the tax rebate. The work was done in one day. Clean up was excellent. I'm very happy overall and am pleased with the results. I am very happy with my windows and would use this company again and recommend them without hesitation.

Removed three oversized windows and one sliding balcony door. Once the initial removal of the old windows and slider were taken care of, then the real work began. All areas in the windows and sliding door were cleaned for the installation of the new units. What was so impressive is the way they stuffed installation around the both the windows and sliding door inside and then they put on the dress up pieces to hide it. Then on the inside they caulked around the entire window and sliding door. Amazing fact - they were not finished with the installation. The inside work areas were cleaned up as if they never did any work in the condo. What totally impressed me is the fact that they went out side and put installation around the outside windows and sliding door, then put the dress up pieces on and with a stronger strength calking went around the windows and door. The difference between what I had before and what I have now is WONDERFUL. As a matter of fact besides myself getting these windows, my neighbor across the hall from me got them too. BOTH OF US ARE TOTALLY PLEASED WITH EVERYTHING. The same night one of the owners stopped by to give us some important information on the windows and door and to make sure that we taken care of by his crew. We both expressed that his crew was professional, courteous, well-organized and more than that personable. This whole experience was more than either of us had expected. I would recommend this company to anyone that would be interested in getting new windows.

We had used them in 1987. The reason we used them on Angies List recently was because at that time we could not afford to have some of our basement windows done. We did call them back to get an estimate to have the rest of the basement windows done. The first time they came, they replaced all our windows except the windows in the basement. They did a good job. Our front window was a bit more complicated because it was a picture kind of window. They really worked with us in order to come up with a design for our front window and it turned out very well. The rest of the windows were just fairly standard kind of windows and it turned out fine too. We have not had any problems. We have not had to call them back since they installed the windows.

Their price was in line and they did an excellent job and I have never had any problems with the windows or with the company. I feel that the new windows have saved us some money on heating and air conditioning.
