About one month from order, Gabriel emailed to say the windows were in. I made an appointment for the following week for a day I would be available. Gabriel called the morning of the install to tell me the crew was on the way at the time I was expecting them. A crew of three arrived with all nine windows and supplies in one box truck. The guys were pleasant, professional and clean! They cleaned up each room along the way during the day and again at the end fo the day, but I am getting ahead of myself. Gabriel arrived just after they began, he showed me what each member of the crew would be doing, asked if I had any questions and said he would be back later in the day to go over the finished job to make sure everything was satisfactory. Billy, John and Ziggy moved furniture, covered items in dropcloths and placed dropcloths outside to catch all of the falling window parts and lead paint chips. All of the nine windows had security bars, storm windows and original hardware from shutter mountings, meaning that each required significant time and attention to detail to remove them without damaging the original molding and trim that was going to be placed back on. The exterior was covered in textured aluminum clad, which looks fantastic. Caulking was done to both the inside and out of every window, so even the old trim is now sealed tightly. The security bars were reinstalled at my request. The guys replaced most of the furniture and objects they moved; I did find a few things out of place and moved them back myself. Most importantly, they did an excellent job of cleaning up after themselves. They vacuumed each room and raked and swept the yard and garden beds--there really were no paint chips anywhere the next day! Gabriel came back as they were finishing to point out, again, the details each window and ask if I had any questions and go over, again, the warranty. After that, I paid; and, Gabriel gave me a bottle of wine as a thank you for the business. The windows look beautiful (I've had them wide open) and I can't wait unitl winter to see how well my heat stays inside the house! I have 14 more original windows that I would like to replace next year. Without hesitation, I will use Replacement Windows again. If you want a great quality product, no pressure sales tactics and wish to support a small, locally-owned company, give these guys a call.

Work was scheduled without any delay. Completed in one day. Cleaned up well around the home.

We had contacted many companies before we decided to go with A better home. We worked with Joe from day one and the customer service was excellent. We got a fantastic price as well compared to prior quote. We are young homeowners slowly remolding our house so we told him from the get go we would be doing half the windows now and half later. Other companies it seemed were not interested because we would not be giving them a huge job all at once but Joe didn't care at all. He even worked with us on prices for different amounts of windows now and later. The workers came and were actually a half hour EARLY! They were polite and courteous and cleaned up every "mess" they made. The windows look great and the craftsmanship used to install them (caulking, etc.) is fantastic. Joe even brought us flowers at the end of the job to thank us for our business. We will defiantly be calling them in a few months to finish our house!!

We are extremely pleased with the work completed by A Better House. We dealt with Joe Kelemer from the beginning through the completion of the job. He is professional yet very friendly, it really was a pleasure to meet him. The estimate he gave us was comparable to other estimates we received (we received estimates from 3 companies), but once we called him back to add the rest of our windows and get a more formal estimate, he gave us an excellent quote compared to what we had seen with other companies. We were able to get triple pane glass windows for the bedrooms which we hadn't considered with other companies. Joe gave us good advise about what to do with our alarm system, which had to be updated. He also recommended different types of windows to replace 3 small windows, and that turned out great. The work started approximately 5 weeks after we hired him. The men who did the work (most of the time it was 3 men) worked hard for almost 3 full days. They moved whatever furniture needed to be moved and took care of removing or getting curtains out of the way. They cleaned up very well once they were done with a window, you could hardly tell any work had been done - everything looked so clean. We were impressed with how well they worked despite the high heat and humidity. Joe came by several times each day to check on the work and talk with us. Once the work was completed, Joe stopped by with beautiful flowers. He thoroughly explained how the windows worked and everything that had been done. He brought one of his sons with him. We had met another one of his sons when they came for the first visit (estimate), and it's apparent what a nice family they are. Joe's sons were so polite, pleasant, and fun to converse with, which is not a surprise since they are just like their father! The windows look great, we are so happy with them. Joe put up a sign on our front lawn, and he told us he had already received a call from one of our neighbors. I definitely recommend Joe's company for window replacement! We are very happy we chose them.

I scheduled four window companies to come out to provide price estimates on replacing the original windows on our newly purchased, 1950 home. I placed initial calls on the July 4th holiday. Joe, one of the co-owners, was responsive to me on that day, in spite of it being a holiday. Furthermore, he came out a few days later to our home on a Sunday to provide the price estimate. He provided the price quote right there on the spot, and answered all of our questions. We went with Joe based upon the glowing reviews about how he stands by his service on Angie's List. Between that date and the date of our window installation, we were in touch with Joe back and forth over various details. He was consistently wildly responsive, to the point that I began to think that perhaps he does not sleep since he replied to one of my husband's midnight emails within an hour ... :) On the day of the windows installation, Joe came after it was completed by his crew and walked us to each window and had us test them and ask questions. He also noted as soon as we came to the house that one window had arrived damaged but that a replacement was already ordered and expected to arrive the following week. On a more general note, the house we bought was a distressed property and as a result, we have been working with a number of small business contractors to get the place into move-in ready condition. It is through the experience of working with contractors such as Joe and his crew that I come out of this whole experience with deep admiration for the quality of work performed by folks that pour their hearts and souls into making their businesses the epitome of high-quality and honesty, all the while maintaining respectable prices. All in all, Joe is a class act. As I told my husband after our experience with Joe, I could not imagine what Joe could have done to make our experience better than it was!

This is the second house I've had this company install new windows. Gabriel Kelemer listens, suggests, and helps - but doesn't push at all. He knows he has high quality products and services. The installers are extremely efficient, respectful of your personal property, and responsive to any issues that arise. This company will come back and fix things - years later - if necessary.

If you are looking to replace your windows then no doubt you will be getting many quotes and there are a multitude of companies out there who will be trying to get your hard-earned cash. You may see many different salesmen with a varying degree of techniques to sway you one way or the other. When you meet Joe you will immediately feel at ease with his no pressure, no bull approach and in the end, the decision is yours after all. He will provide you with clear information and a fair price so that you can make an informed decision.I was very impressed with the sales pitch, the installation and the finished product. Especially now that we are trying to keep our cool air in the house and keep the hot rays out, the windows are doing a FANTASTIC job. You may find cheaper windows elsewhere but beware of what you getting. Thoroughly recommend a quote at the very least - you will not be disappointed.

Gabriel returned initial phone call in 15 min. Gave initial eval next day. We were impressed with directnesss of presentation and quality of windows. Price was much better that another big advertiser we interviewed. We made decision to go the following day. He called us in about two weeks and installed a few days later. In here at 9:10 AM and finished cleaning up by 4:00 PM. Both owners stopped in while work progressed. Everyone was pleasant, courteous, efficient, quiet and neat. We are very satisfied with the details - fit, caulking and appearance of the windows. I would use them again.

Overall they did great work. The service people were nice. They even brought me flowers.

I originally went to Home Depot... long story short... had terrible experience. I called Gabriel and he came over within couple hours to discuss patio doors. I paid more with Kelemer but had peace of mind that I got a quality door and competent installation. I would def recommend them! It's worth the extra money to deal with professionals like Gabriel. They even got a special kind of window for over my kitchen sink that opens into my sunroom. The sunroom has large windows on three sides. They are so professional. They are great!

We had received bids from two other companies and then called A Better House, Inc. to come for an estimate. We called and left a message for Joe, a message that was received and returned within 15 minutes. We scheduled a time for Joe to come out and assess our windows, our needs according to the HOA and our budget. Joe was on time and very pleasant and professional and agreed to come later in the day to accommodate our work schedules. He showed us window samples that would be a close match to the original ones we were replacing. Joe was very generous with his time, answering our questions, without being overbearing and too "salesman." He is sincere and very passionate about his work and it was important to him to educate us on the product we were buying, even if we ultimately would not have chosen them. We felt confident that even if we had gone a different route, we were more knowledgable about our investment. We called him back the next day, and again, our call was returned within 15 minutes. We were told a 4-6 window, which turned out to be more towards 4. The crew came out on time and worked through the day. Joe came by periodically throughout the day to check on the job, and to walk through the process of what was going on, how the windows were being installed and why, and the different stages of installation which I appreciated. They had a lot of windows to replace, and so the job stretched into a second day which was fully anticipated. At the end of each day, the carpets were fully vacuumed, and the windows were a beautiful addition to our home. The second day, Joe called and said that he was unable to make it out but that Gabriel would be stopping in and he did as promised. He too was very courteous and professional. When installation was complete, we were walked through how to open, close, clean and care for the windows and encouraged to call with any questions or concerns. All windows come with full warranty. We were very pleased with the experience and would unreservedly recommend them. I have already given their information to neighbors who have inquired. Job well done!!

I called Joe and left a message and he called me back within ~5 minutes. I explained my issue (a small BB hole in my arched window above the door) and he commiserated with my situation as I'm trying to sell the home and have to pay this additional expense. Joe stayed on the phone with me for ~10 minutes even though he knew he probably wouldn't get my business because he explained that his services (brand new window) would probably be more expensive than just getting the glass replaced. He referred me to another local company that would probably be able to help me and talked me through how to get the best price possible. If you're looking for replacement windows and want to use someone who'll walk you through everything and not give you a sales pitch you've found your company with Joe! Thanks Joe for your help!

Great experience. I actually called them last year with the idea of replacing about 3 windows. I emailed on a Sunday afternoon expecting to hear back that week and Joe Kelemer called me within 30 minutes of my email and came that day to provide me an estimate. He was very nice and knowledgable and not pushy in any way. After talking with him I decided it was best to wait a few months until I could replace all the windows in my house. When I was ready, I called Joe back. He immediately remembered me and came over right away to do another estimate. I had actually received another estimate before Joe and never heard back from them as to whether I wanted to buy the windows or not. In less than a month his crew was back installing the windows. I felt totally comfortable leaving his workers in my house without me there so I didn't need to take a whole day off work, which was great. Joe came and took pictures of the finished job and emailed them to me and met me after work to walk me through everything. It was a great experience all the way around and I would definitely use them again. If you decide to use them, tell them Ellen sent you, you will not be disappointed.

He provided good service. He put in five windows in less than three weeks. He was good but I would not say excellent. I was satisfied. His price was within the range. I got estimates from other companies and I chose him. He gave me a lifetime warranty, if anything goes wrong he will fix it.

It went very smooth from when the men arrived at 9am, they worked so well together & did what the had to do. Very professional. Our windows were completed prior to 4pm.i have no qualms or misgivings. Cannot find a negative thing to say. I would definitely recommend them to friends and family.

I initially called Replacement Windows By: A better House, Inc to get an estimate on the two windows in my living room. Gabriel, one of the two owners called me back the next day to set up an appointment to get an estimate. I told him that I already had a few estimates on windows from other companies. He then asked what the estimates were from the other companies which I told him but I was not really comfortable with the quality of the windows that were shown to me relative to the price I was quoted. He came out and gave me estimates on the two windows in my living room. I was so impressed with his professionalism and stright forward and honest presentation that I decided to have all of my windows replaced which honestly in the long run will probably save me hundreds of dollars. Roughly about 4 weeks later the called and said my windows had arrived and wanted to schedule and installation of my windows. I knew this was would be kind of tricky because I do not work a standard 9-5 job. They wanted to install my windows the week of April 1 2012, however I would not be available because of work and they would not be available the following week, so we decided to do the install today ( March 30 2012). The installers came promptly at 9:30am and installed they windows. They could not have been more professional and courteous. Toward the end of the installation Gabriel came in to oversee the rest of the installation as wellas to show me how to open and close the windows and well as how clean them. Overall this is by far the most professional company I have used. Their prices were fair, they were completely honest with me and took pride in their work. If i could I would give them higher than an A rating that is how impressed I was with them. I will absolutely use them again in the future If I had to and refer them to any body who needs windows to be replaced, they will not cheat you and you will be satisfied with the quality of their work!!!

I needed to replace the windows in a 1950's Home i just bought. I looked at 5 different companies which basically all had the same caliber of window but no one else came close to the price offered by the Kelemer Brothers. Plus their no nonsense sales approach was a welcome relief. I had thoroughly researched windows and with some engineering in my background, I didn't need the whole replacement window dog and pony show. Both Joe and Gabriel provided the information I needed and didn't waste my time going though an hour and a half sales pitch unlike some of the other companies that insisted I sit through their presentations. They provided a quote and were patient with me as I continued to look at other companies but no one else provided the same value. They scheduled the installation on a day that was convenient to me and the install went very smoothly. I was a little worried on how vinyl windows would look compare to my old wood windows but they turned out great. On the day of the Install Gabriel dropped by and explained how the install would go and went over what exactly the installers were doing. After the install Joe dropped by to do a final inspection and to show me how the windows worked. I will definitely use this company again and will highly recommend them to anyone needing replacement windows.

They are very professional and punctual. I feel they treat there work like art. They seem to strive for perfection and customer satisfaction. Joe even texted me pictures of the work while it was taking place!! At the end he even showed his appreciation flor business by giving us a bottle of wine. They cleaned up afterward and we have been very satisfied. There have been some rain storms where the stairs never even got wet!! Now we feel comfortable making our basement a play are for our kids without it becoming a health hazard.

Excellent, no complaints. They even redid some caulking for me, a couple of years after install, at no additional charge!

My wife and I were extremely impressed by Gabriel's professionalism. We met with him to discuss the product he offers and the installation process of new windows on our home. He was very knowledgeable and genuine in his sales approach. He provided us with a competitive estimate and followed up with additional information without a request from us. Although we chose to use a different company (only because we have multiple projects that we need completed at the same time), we highly recommend Gabriel and his brother.

I asked three highly rated Angie's List companies to provide an estimate for the work. Gabriel Kelemer responded quickly, then came to my house to do the estimate. Kelemer Brothers were far more competitive on price than the competition, they were responsive, and Gabriel's estimate was straight forward and honest. I called Kelemer Bros to let them know they were my choice. As they already had the window and door measurements from the estimate, they were able to order them (the doors were custom size, I live in an early 50s rambler) without coming back. They told me it would take until mid-Feb to get the doors, and they were right on. We scheduled an installation day for mid-week, the Kelemer installation team showed up exactly on time, removed the old windows and doors and installed new ones, cleaned everything up, and were gone all in about seven hours. Gabriel showed up at the end of the job to inspect the installation and to make sure I was happy with everything, which I certainly was. Fantastic service, competitive price, set a schedule and price and keep to it. I would certainly use these guys again and would recommend them to anybody.

I called Mr. Kelemer earlier this afternoon and left a message describing the problem. He returned my call within a half hour and asked me to email pictures of the broken part so that he can identify the proper replacement piece. Within 5 minutes of my email, he called me back saying that he had the parts in stock and would gladly do the replacement for free. Sure enough, within 30 minutes, he came by my house and did the repair free of charge as promised. This is an outstanding level of service and speaks to the quality of the company and their product. Who ever heard of a company offering 10+ year warranty on a product even after change of ownership and owner error! I couldn't be more pleased and strongly recommend this company without hesitation!

I had 2 windows and a back patio sliding door I wanted replaced. I was also considering having the rest of the house done depending on the estimates. Of the 4 companies I had give me estimates, Joe and his company came in second cheapest and in my opinion #1 in quality which is why I picked them for the job. I ended up replacing 13 windows in my house (including the back door). I live in a climate plagued house so Joe informed me of the benefits of putting triple pane windows upstairs in my house for free (only 3 of the windows) which I thought was generous considering when I had the rest of the companies re-quote with triple pane the price went up substantially. Joe's estimate process was not high pressure, just informative of what their product line-up was. My windows came in about 3 weeks ahead of schedule so I was able to get them installed in a timely manner on my day off. The crew showed up promptly at 10:00AM as planned and were done almost exactly at 4:30 as planned. The crew was knowledgable and professional and in my opinion one of the cleaner groups I have seen after watching my parents have contractors in and out over the years. As for the product and the warranty, I couldn't be happier. My house has been comfortable and the quality of the back sliding door and casement windows I had put in are great.Tell Joe that Rob from Bowie sent you. You won't be disappointed!

A friend at work told me that he had heard this company did a good job, so I called Gabriel to get one of several estimates. We set up an appointment in the evening to go over what I was interested in having done. I had done my research and was debating on Milgards until I spoke to Gabriel. He brought a window with him and went over all the specs of the Dove window. I knew enough about double vs. triple pane, argon vs. krypton filled, U factor, etc. and had already visited the NFRC website for info. Gabriel went over the product and also info on his company and their warranty on installation. He gave me a quote on the job, which I thought was reasonable. I thanked him & told him I'd get back to him in a few days after I received my other estimates. After I compared everything needed, I decided to go with Gabriel, mainly for the warranty on installation, as I felt the install was more important than the window itself. I also went on Angies List to look at the reviews in helping me make my decision. I saw very good ratings and also saw a deal that they were running on windows. So I purchased 2 as I had made my decision to go with them. I called Gabriel and he stopped by that evening so I could sign the contract. I told him I found Angies "Big Deal" and purchased 2 (there was a limit of 2 that you could buy). Gabriel honored the coupons with no issue even though he had given me a quote already. He didn't raise the cost of the quote saying that he had 'forgotten' to add something; he just took the $1000 off the quote. The day of the job, everything went well, the crew was on time and started right away. We had no issues during installation even though one of our windows had water damage around the frame and they had to install all new wood to frame the window. We were not charged extra for that and I remember Gabriel stating that when he gave us the quote. He said if they run into any issues (like we did) there wouldn't be a charge. Gabriel stopped by at the end of the day to look at all the windows and he found that one side of the small bathroom slider had finger prints between the panes (triple paned slider) and he would call & get us a replacement for that side, although I didn't even notice it. He offered to let us keep the window with the fingerprints (if we wanted it) when he came back to replace it, even though we declined. A few weeks later we noticed when we opened one side of two double hung windows that are together, one side opened further than the other side. We called Gabriel to ask why one side opened more than the other. Gabriel came out and noticed that one part of a piece of vinyl hadn't been cut as far as the other. It was a quick fix and Gabriel fixed it right then. So, all in all, the job was done right, they cleaned up perfectly after they were finished, the price was good, and the service was great.
