Went well. The grade in our yard is pretty up and down and full of rocks, and we are very pleased at how the fence looks. We could not be happier and have been using the yard every day since the install. We have a lot of peace of mind knowing our dog is safe and secure and no longer has to be on a leash at all times.

Overall Reliable did a great job for us and we would highly recommend them. After initially contacting Reliable, one of their sales representatives (Mike) came to our house and discussed various options. He was very knowledgeable and professional and was able to quickly provide us with an estimate for the fence and options we selected. Their estimate was very attractive compared to other fence companies. Actually, they offered an even more attractive price if we went with an all white fence (which they had in inventory) but we decided to spend more to get a two-tone fence. Once the date was set, Reliable showed up on time with a large crew that was very professional and easy to deal with. They worked very quickly and efficiently and were very courteous. The original plan was for Reliable to install the entire fence within a week. However, after about half the fence was installed, our pool contractor (one of the reasons for the fence is we are also installing a pool) realized that the fence would actually get in the way of the pool construction. So we had to tell Reliable to put the fence installation on hold. We had expected that this was going to be a major problem and would result in lots of issues and arguments. However, we were very impressed that they were completely understanding about it. We rescheduled the installation of the rest of the fence a few weeks later when the pool was done and they again came as scheduled and quickly finished the rest of the fence. The fence looks great and we think they did a high quality job. The only minor thing that we weren't 100% happy with was one of the gates seemed to sag more than we thought it would. When we mentioned this to them, they sent someone over to look at it and then they quickly made some adjustments to resolve this, which also impressed us (we weren't expecting them to do anything about it). As a result, we are completely happy with the fence. So, overall we think Reliable Fence did a great job at an attractive price with very easy to deal with employees and we would highly recommend them.

We selected Reliable Fence to fence in our backyard mainly to keep our two young children contained. We paid the 50% deposit at the end of May and were told we would receive a call to schedule the installation. Mistakenly I did not ask them at that time approximately how long it would take. I just assumed it would be within a few weeks as we wanted this done for the summer months when our kids are mostly outdoors. When I called to follow up 3 weeks later, I was told we were on the schedule for the middle of July. When the installation day finally arrived, my husband and I went to work. Again we figured we were not needed at home since the plans were drawn out in detail by the gentleman who gave us the estimate in the first place. The installation crew called us when they arrived and wanted us to tell them where to put the fence. Since we could not do this over the phone, they packed up and left. We left several messages over the next few days and finally got a call back and a new date the following week. When I returned home that evening, I found my two children crawling underneath the fence. It was not flush with the ground, and the installers even went so far as to stuff a piece of wood underneath to mask the gap. In addition, there was a huge mound of dirt left in our back yard which I would have expected to be cleared away. When we complained, the company sent a new crew out to lower the fence to our satisfaction. Overall we are happy with the result, but getting there was a painful process.

It was great. It took them about 6 weeks to get it in from the time they gave us an estimate but the work was quick and the price was good.

We were very pleased with every aspect of their work. Their bid was competitive and the guys who did the work were very courteous, kind, polite and all around good workers. We've gotten a lot of compliments from our neighbors that the fence looks very good. I would absolutely recommend them. We plan on doing more work on the fence and we will go straight to them.

It turned out great and it was a very good experience. I am very happy I used them; I would use them again and would recommend them.

second time in a year we have had similar fence installed. after talking about it for years we had 3' high cedar picket fence installed in our old house. moved in july 2012 and we had the same type of fence installed at the new house. we have the fence to keep our three dogs from wandering. they aren't jumpers or diggers and this fence looks nice and works well. the time between phone call and appointment to discuss fence was very quick. individual coming out for estimate was very helpful in suggesting some changes to our original ideas about how to lay out the fence. they also reminded us about the importance of gates...we would have come up one gate shy if we had used our original plan. the only negative aspect of the experience really wasn't due to reliable. advice....don't have a fence installed in the height of summer. reliable is very busy then and we had to wait over four weeks. however, it was made clear to us at the start of the discussions that it would be that long. communication was good about when installation would take place, what our responsibilities were, and when there were any changes in the agreed upon schedule. the crew was professional and friendly. i would most definitely recommend them to someone considering a fence installation.

We are completely satisfied with the installation of our new fence. Reliable Fence came on the day that they said they would come. They worked through the rain to almost completely install the fence in a day. They finished their work (including complete clean up) the next morning. The two men who installed the fence were total professionals with a positive attitude in spite of the rainy conditions. Now the fence looks great and we have received many compliments from the neighbors.

I had 3 companies come to estimate my fence installation project. They were punctual and provided what I thought was a fair quote; $4600 for a 5 foot PVC privacy fence with lattice and 2 gates in a small lower yard. I selected Reliable because of the professionalism of the estimator, the fair price (not the lowest or highest), and my confidence that they would address a small complicated area around a tree well so to not let out my 3 small dogs. Another reason I chose them is because the estimator told me it would be 4-6 weeks to schedule the installation, but could be sooner because my job was a small one that could be inserted around others. After dealing with their complicated and antiquated contracting and processes and losing several days in the process, they received my 50% deposit with signed contract and Dig Safe confirmation (good for 30 days) on May 21. So in my mind, I counted 4 weeks, and estimated sometime between June 18 and July 2 for installation to be complete. A bit of a problem, but OK. I called the scheduling department and they told me that they would be sending a postcard when my job was 2 weeks out, and they couldn't provide any more details. Then on June 1, I received a form letter from them saying it would be an additional 4-6 weeks. I responded via email that day that I was disappointed, and have some extenuating circumstances and a smaller scale job, and was hopeful that they would be able to accelerate the timeline back to the original. They never responded in any way to that email, and I still don't have my 2-week postcard. If I receive it tomorrow, the earliest it would be installed is July 5, already past the latest date they said was a possibility in the beginning. I still believe that the fence and installation will be high quality, but am angered and frustrated with the process and lack of communication. I will post an update once the work is complete. UPDATE: Thanks to the power of Angie's List, after my posting above they quickly set up my installation. The install team worked quickly, but I had to leave during the process to go to work. I was told they didn't foresee any issues with the installation. Unfortunately, when I returned, the job was complete, but the fence was too high above the ground in many locations. I barricaded as best as possible, and went out with my dogs in my newly fenced backyard! I was very excited. Not long after, I was working from my home office, and the dogs escaped from the yard. When I contacted Reliable with that issue, my sales rep came to the house and modified the fence himself and made it right. While I didn't love my experience with Reliable as many did, in the end the fence looks great and the dogs are contained. I have revised my original "D" grade to a "B" for the quality of the final product and their commitment to ensuring I was happy.

Installation and quality of materials - good. What's not so good is leaving a 20' opening in the fence overnight. This is in spite of being told 2x that there could not be any open sections overnight because of the swimming pool. When I discovered the open section, they had already loaded all the old fence sections that could have been used to fill the gap and left. There was no attempt made to clean up the driveway debris from their work. Took me 1 1/2 hours to clean up the mess. I think that Reliable should have made an effort to provide some supervision of the installers. No one from Reliable showed up on the work days, and did not follow up to determine how the job went.

This was a small job which they fitted in one day around other work. They didn't call to tell me they were coming, but I happened to be home [just about to leave] when they arrived. Since the job required some discussion about how to deal with the unusual aspects, I was glad I was home and unhappy they had not called my cell phone before arriving. Other than that, all went very smoothly. Once we talked and I left, the job was done and cleaned up before I got back from my errands. This was the second fence job they have done for me and I am very satisfied.

On 9/12/2011 I contacted Reliable Fence Company of Boston to schedule an appointment regarding a new stockade fence. On 9/14 estimator Jim arrived on time. I discussed my vision & ideas and Jim provided me with a very good plan to achieve what I was looking for. In addition to this project I also discussed a more complex project with him that I was thinking of doing in the future. He came up with some very basic and workable ideas that would work on this project. He stated that I would receive his estimate in the mail within two days. The estimate was timely received as promised. The estimate however was not the lowest. Since I had used this company several years earlier with good success I was very interested in using them again if possible. I re-contacted Jim to discuss the estimate. He was willing to negotiate the price in order to get my business. The new estimate was competitive so on 9/20 I decided to go with Reliable. Reliable fully understands customer satisfaction. They sent out the necessary insurance information without being asked. They also send out a postcard advising you of the week the installation will take place. The postcard instructs you of the date to call the company to get the exact date of the installation. All calls to the company to check on the schedule were answered by a human quickly and efficiently. The installation was originally scheduled for 10/5. However because of unprecedented flooding in the neighborhood on 10/3 that date needed to be pushed back to 10/18. On the morning of 10/18 two installers arrived on time. They quickly and efficiently removed the old fence and installed the new one. Before they began the installation they went through everything with me to ensure we were both on the same page. They were very friendly and answered a couple of additional questions I had during the install. It was very evident from watching them that they took pride in their work. Everything was done neatly and precisely. I was 100% pleased with everything that was done. Based on all of the contacts with the different people at Reliable and the finished product of their work I would not hesitate to use them in the future or recommend them to anyone.

We were tired of fending off the deer who were destroying our shrubs, and when we discovered that our Golden Retrievers were getting out of our yard through areas of our old fence that had been damaged in recent storms, we decided to contact Reliable Fence. Dana came out on Monday, January 9, to discuss the job. We had an estimate in our hands the next day, complete with a detailed sketch and description of the work to be done and the materials to be used. We accepted the proposal, and work began the day after we had finished the necessary clearing around the fence line. The team worked quickly and professionally, were always friendly, and were considerate of our two puppies. Despite temps falling into the single digits, they showed up every day on time and worked steadily. The project was finished earlier than expected, and we could not be happier with the result. During the project, we had a couple of small requests (a slight change in the route of the fence and additional material to close up a few gaps under the chain link), and both were handled swiftly and satisfactorily. We would definitely hire them again if we needed more fence work done, and we recommend them unreservedly.

The appointment went well, a reasonable estimate was provided. A good brochure of examples was used and we were told when we could expect the work to be done if we chose them.

We are pleased with the look of the new fence. The workmen who performed the job were very courteous and professional. They arrived at the appointed time and started work when they said they would. The job was completed quickly. Early delivery of the fence materials from the supplier made it possible for them to do the installation a few days earlier than the original date. The office called to confirm this would be acceptable, which it was. We were happy to have them install earlier as the colder temperatures were on the way and we wanted the job completed. We encountered a few complexities related to grade changes and a tree that straddled the fence line. They made adjustments to the fence height and added in an extra post to accommodate a necessary break in the fence at the tree - all to our satisfaction. The initial estimating and design process with Dana also went smoothly. We had earlier dropped by the Woburn showroom to confirm our selection of the fence style. I would recommend that this be done if possible. Seeing and touching the various fences makes it easier to choose. The showroom staff also pointed out some differences related to the rail placement and the visual impact of the bottom rail as it follows the grade of the property and made a suggestion as to the best fence style. This was not something that we could have determined just from looking at the online brochures.

I was very impressed and pleased with the entire project. I called for an estimate and the representative was on time and quickly understood what I wanted. I had several estimates for the project and Reliable Fence came in with a very competitive bid. They arrived on the projected day and over the 3 days did a great job installing the fence. I had a 4 inch wide cedar board with 5 inch posts and decorative caps put in and they look great. I would definitely recommend them, both for their price and the quality of their work.

Contacted Reliable Fence, they were very quick to come and do a estimate for me. Once we decided on them, we were placed on their list of jobs, which did not take too long. There was slight communication issues once we sent in the deposit, but they were very professional and very accommodating. The day of the installation they arrived on time, and when I returned home from work everything was clean and taken away. I would hire them again.

Chris Gould stopped by to provide an estimate and he knew exactly what we wanted. We wanted a corner of our backyard fenced in, about 10-15 ft, and wanted something temporary since we were not exactly sure where the property line was. If the neighbor complained, we would have to take it down. Chris suggested not cementing in those posts and installing a lighter black chain link so that we could take it down easily if we had to move it. The first day, only one worker showed up as it was Columbus Day. I was not happy as I was expecting at least 2 or 3 workers to show up. He worked very hard all day but it was back-breaking work for one guy. He removed most of the old stockade fence and cemented in 15 posts by himself. I called the office to complain and the next day a second guy came. They were efficient, worked hard and did a great job. The posts are thicker and heavier than the other quotes I received. They were the only ones to provide proof of insurance, references, and have a fairly strict contract as to what they require (Dig Safe), payment terms, etc. We had to clear out 18" from the fence area and pay for a tree removal service to use a chain saw and remove a large tree limb which fell on top of the old fence. If the area needs to be cleared, they will not do it. Be careful who you call, there are two "Reliable Fence" companies with identical logos. One is Reliable Fence MetroWest based in Ashland, the guy who came out (Ray) was very nice and responsive. The other is Reliable Fence Boston out of Woburn. We went with them (Woburn) because their quote was signficantly lower than the other 5 quotes I received and they got good reviews on Angie's List and another consumer website.

Excellent ... showed up on-time, got straight to work, finished same-day, cost as estimated. The guys were absolute gentlemen, and there were no surprises at all.

They were satisfactory. They were good on price, comparable to others and the quality is so far, so good.

I called them to do an estimate and they came out and provided me an estimate. I wanted one piece repaired but he indicated more than that piece was broken, which I suspected. They sent me a new estimate and then I decided to go with a different fence type. They were very accomodating as I made up my mind. They came on the day scheduled (which was a bit delayed due to volume) and got it done in two days. Two guys came out and they worked fast but carefully. They used pressure treated posts to increase the life of the fence and put concrete in the holes to help prevent it from coming loose. This was included I hadn't indicated it in the beginning (I probably should have, I am glad they did that). It was extra work but they thought it was needed to keep the fence strong for a long time. The fence looks great, they cleaned up the yard very nicely. I was very pleased with the work and the fence.

These guys were great. Prompt with returning calls and coming out for an estimate. The crew was polite, clean and respectful of the property and landscaping. They had a spring special on vinyl fencing and the cost ended up being only a few hundred more than the price of a wooden stockade fence. I've had no problems with the fence with the recent storms/hurricanes and get multiple compliments on how great the fence looks. They might be a tad pricier than other guys, but they pick up the phone when you call and actually show up. You get what you pay for and that includes the everything from the quality of the product, labor and service. I'd use them again for future jobs in a heartbeat.

Chris Gould came to give the estimate ,measured and suggested types of fencing he thought would be appropriate. He was professional and knowlegeable and explained the process regarding Safe Dig requirements. Within a week we got the quote and literature telling me the steps we had to take before installation. The entire process was quick and easy and Chris followed up and answered all of our questions and concerns. We were very impressed by the installation team. They were very hardworking and patient ,checking with us throughout the process to make sure the fence was installed properly. Customer satisfaction was the teams top priority and we appreciated their hard work . We made a great choice in choosing Reliable and we highy recomend them .

We had a number of quotes done early in the year, and Reliable Fence's seasonal promotion was the best value by far. As promised we got an installation date about 2 weeks after we'd agreed to the work and two men showed up on the day on time. As they finished unloading their van it started to rain pretty heavily, but the two men kept working with only occasional breaks. They made good progress in Day 1 despite the heavy rain, and finished the job on Day 2 with no problems. I think they did an excellent job, especially given the weather, and we will be using them again in the future. Thanks Reliable Fence!
