However, after the efficient communication with the sales person and paid the fee early July. It took us several calls, phone tags and even mail to decide on when to perform the service. It finally was done at the end of August. The fence looks beautiful and the service was done professionally. We are overall very happy about it.

When we made that initial call it took no time for them to come out and give us an estimate. It took a little while to get on the schedule for installation, but I think that is due to the fact that it was spring and they were very busy. They were very quick and did a good job. It took them a total of 2 days to complete the job, and after they were done we did a walk through together and the installer pointed out parts of the fence that were a little off the ground due to the slope of our land. We've gotten many compliments on the fence, and have had no problems with it yet.

It went very well. They were responsive to my initial phone call and quickly scheduled an estimate. The person came out to my property promptly. He left a message saying he would call me back and give me an estimate. A few days past and I did not hear from them, so I called them. I was then told he was unable to give a complete estimate as I was not present when he showed up and it was too dark for him to really see what was going on. This is fair, but I didn't like that I had to call him back. Not a big deal though. Overall these guys were awesome. Price was great compared to other quotes. They did a good job communicating and were punctual and professional. I highly recommend Reliable Fence!!

Reliable Fence replaced the stockade fence in the back of our house. The fence looks fine. They were very quick in coming to the house to give an estimate after I called, and they were willing to come outside of daytime business hours, because my husband and I both work. They warned that they had a backlog and it would be a few weeks before they were able to do the work. The day the work was to be done, the installer was supposed to arrive first thing in the morning, but he did not come until lunchtime. Consequently the job, which was supposed to take 1 day, took 2 days. He did come the following day, which was a Saturday, to finish the job. I would consider using Reliable again, but I would probably look into other companies, as well.

Overall experience was very positive. The installation was done extremely well, the fence is beautiful and was done exactly to our specifications. Steps 1) Getting the quote was a breeze. I called, made an appointment, and the representative was at my house within days. They provided a written quote the same day, which I really appreciated. We got quotes from 3 people that were all within a few hundred dollars. We chose Reliable because they were the fastest and nicest. 2) Scheduling the install was ok. They are busy right now. It took about 3 weeks from payment to install. This was within the 2-4 weeks they told me. 3) Prep work is on you. You are required to call dig safe and pull any permits necessary. You also have to level and clear the area. They were able to help for the one area I was unable to successful to myself. 4) Install was delayed one day because the foreman was sick, but the next day they were out there and had job done quickly. The fence looks amazing. I was honestly shocked at how nice it all looks. I would absolutely use them again.

I have a very large back yard at my home in Bradford, MA. I purchased the home about 3 years ago. The back yard was a bit overgrown, and had an old wooden fence around it. Seeing I have 2 large dogs and 2 little girls, I need something better than was there, and safer to keep everyone in the back yard. I called around to a few companies to get some ideas on prices and what they had to offer for fencing products. Out of the 3 companies I called, one never showed up. the second one came by a day late, and just threw numbers at me, and left me feeling take it or leave it. My third call, which became my final call, was to Reliable Fence. One of the reasons I called them was because once I looked around at what other families had put up for fence, Reliable's tag was on a lot of them. I pull into a McDonalds, and the fence is installed by Reliable. My neighbor's fence was also done by Reliable. My initial call into the office put me into a very nice gentleman named Steve. I told Steve what I was looking for basically, and he took the time to explain my options over the phone. At the end of the conversation, he set up a time for a company representative to come out and meet with me at my home. The day of the appointment, Dana from Relaible Fence showed up exactly on time. We looked over the back yard, and he took the time to show me exactly what the company could do, showed me examples of the fencing products they offered, took measurements, and said I would receive a thorough quote in the next few days in the mail. Approximately 2 days later, I had the quote in hand, and by far, the price was right!! It provided a detailed sketch of where the new fence would be installed, removal of the old fence, and a detailed description of what type of fence will be done. I sent in my deposit. One week before the job was to be done, I received a postcard, with a reminder of when the crew would be out to do the install, and for me to call Dig Safe. The day of the install the crew showed up first thing in the morning, introduced themselves, and went to work. In no time, they had the project done. The old fence was gone and the new one was up. There was no mess left behind. Honestly, It couldnt have gone any smoother, and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to deal with a professional business. I am more than happy with the job done. The fence makes my back yard look so nice, keeps everyone safe and sound

Emailed them twice; they never responded to my emails.

The estimate was prompt and professional. Warned us it would take 5 or so weeks to get scheduled. The installers were the problem. The first day they didn't come with everything they needed. Then the next day they didn't finish either, for some other reason. Then we didn't see them for 3 or 4 days. I called the office and the person who answered the phone told me the job was marked as finished. IT WAS NOT FINISHED. Two days later the installers came and finished the job. The quality of the fence is good, I think, but pretty disappointed in how that all played out.

Reliable's strength was initial contact (the first call back was very professional) but on the downside the estimator came a week early without warning and we were not able to discuss our questions in person. They were helpful in providing a revised quote when we changed from universal board to the type with support boards but their quote was $1,000 higher than the smaller company we chose. Also the detailed views on Angie's list were not as stellar as they initially seemed.

Our salesperson, Dana, was very punctual and came out twice to measure and go over options. We were hesitant to go with Reliable because of a few bad reviews, but we didn't experience any misfortune. Our two installers were extremely friendly, hard working (in 95 degree heat with 101 heat index), and got the job done in 3 days. We didn't need to be home for them either. After getting 4 other estimates, we chose Reliable because they had the most reasonable and lowest estimate other than Lowe's, who I wouldn't dare taking a chance in hiring. Overall we'd choose Reliable again if we need to add on or change the fence.

After requesting an estimate, a Sales rep was here in about a week or so. He was a really nice guy (Dana) and informative, gave suggestions and ideas based on what I was planning. This was NOT a small job. I believe it was approximately 400 feet of fencing all together. He made it clear that as the homeowner I would have some responsibilities of my own, such as clearing the fence line where needed, getting a permit, and calling Dig Safe. He told me at the time they were running at approximately 6 weeks out from the time they receive the deposit. Dana supplied the estimate within a couple of days. It was the best estimate that I received, but also very close to a second estimate, and well below a third. So their pricing is competitive. I was dilligent about making sure all of my tasks were complete, as I didn't want to be saddled with any additional costs. I even went so far as to take some pictures and send them to Dana so I was sure that I acheived what was asked, and also what they expected to see on the day installation started. You gotta give a little to get a little. I received a post card about 2 - 3 weeks ahead of the installation, stating that I was scheduled some time during the week of 8/19. There were here on Thursday, 8/22. They came Friday, Saturday, and finished the job by noon today, Monday, 8/26. Kevin was the head installer...another nice guy. The crews were small, 2 - 3 guys all together. He was completely professional and respectful, as were his crews. Here when he said he'd be (around 8AM), cleaned up completely after each day, only leaving some materials they would need the next day. Totally OK. They worked the entire time they were here, except for their lunch break. There was no time wasted. We walked the fence line when he was done and he reviewed how the gates work, where modifications needed to be made due to roots, rocks or the general lay of the land. There were no surprises at all during the installation. I had a very positive experience. Everything they promised was delivered. I know that if there are any potential issues or concerns in the future I can call them. The fence looks awesome and I am pleased. I would recommend them to anyone considering a fence installation.

It is my experience that Reliable was not very reliable.

From the start when scheduled an appointment for a Salesman from Reliable Fence to come out and look at the property, and give an estimate. Jim Dever was very prompt with this his appointmen, to give us an estimate and scope of the job. He was very respectful; professional and quite informative...going over all our options, within our budget. Once, we managed the paperwork...Matt the scheduling guy called respectfully, and gave us our scheduled date to start the project. The project started on the exact date the project...and it went from there to finish. Matt the forman of our fence project gave us exemplary service in a respectful manner, as well as, as his assistants doing so. He did a very professional job...I would recommend him highly! Overall I would give the whole project a 10 out 10...I am very happy with the end result.

Everything went perfectly. Dana Tagliamonte came out to give me an estimate. He was easy to work with and I thought the cost was reasonable. His guys did the work in the middle of the winter. They arrived promptly and did a great job. I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

I was shocked that the time between ordering the fence and the insulation was 6 weeks. The two crew members were really hard workers and overall did a great job. I found when they were done with the fence that some of the main posts had very rough surfaces and even small chunks out of them, that half the caps were nailed on my one nail, that a series of pickets had to be repaired by me to hold tight to the rails ,and that the bottom edge of many pickets were not even and rough. These were sections built in the shop. The sections built on site were beautifully exicuted. I am learning that even a well respected company need the client to be onsite supervising sometimes. I believe that if I could have been onsite I the crew would have corrected most of these overlooks.

We first contacted Reliable Boston after receiving a coupon in the mail. We were curious because the business is a little far from our area and there is a "Reliable Fence" company located closer to us. We did come to learn that these offices though once part of one business are now completely independent. The quote from Reliable Boston was less than the more local Reliable (maybe due to the coupon), which the "other Reliable" would not honor. We also had a third quote that was very high. The process was pretty good. Andrew came out to our house within a few days of initial contact, gave us some options and provided a quote. He was both patient and helpful during the back and forth in getting to the best option regarding length, gates size, style, etc.. There was about a 6 week leadtime from when we mailed the 50% deposit to the time of installation. We were informed about a week prior to installation so "dig-safe" could come out and mark any utilities. The installers came right on time on a very hot day. All the posts were set in concrete. The gate has a metal framed back. They asked some questions and made helpful suggestions for the install. They worked hard and cleaned up pretty well for a project like this. The fence feels very solid and should last for many years. However there were some cosmetic issues. There is black staining on one of the panels though this will likely blend in over time. There were some gouges, rough cut and miss- nailed areas in some panels. There was a 5 inch split halfway up one of the posts with a sharp piece protruding which I had to repair. I did notify Andrew and their answer was they were sorry that I was not completely satisfied. I was not looking for any discount, just letting them know that yes it is a fence but we expected a somewhat better finish. It seemed overall like a good product that was maybe rushed during production due to a heavy sales period and this resulted in some shortfalls. Some panels were good, some not as good. It might have been better to see examples of the finished quality we should have expected instead of just pictures. We are not sure of any quality differences on the quotes but will consider this more closely on any future fence project.

Very well, it was a little slow getting an installation date (they were very busy) but once they came out, it was done in a couple of days. I am planning on having an additional area of fencing installed and will definitely call Reliable.

We hired Reliable Fence because we were impressed with the fence work that they did for some neighbors. The one problem with them is really poor communication - it was very difficult to get them to provide information in a timely manner, and it often took repeated calls and emails to get any type of reply. We almost walked away from dealing with them because of this. However, the final installed fence seems very solid and looks good, and seems to meet all expectations.

They were excellent at the job. They were very consciences once they started the job. I asked them to come back and fix something so they came back right away.

Although both fences were installed by the company as of 06/25/2013, only one fence had been installed satisfactorily and acceptably. We complained by email to the company through Joe Yunes, who was the salesperson for our project and also is an installer for the company. We followed up with a letter to Joe and a photo illustrating the errors and omissions. Joe received the letter and photo on Saturday morning, 06/29/2013, came to our home the same morning, inspected the fence in question, and stated that the installation was unacceptable to the company because it failed to meet company standards and to follow company guidelines. Three days later on 07/02/2013, Joe returned with another installer, Rich, and the two of them worked diligently for more than five hours hours to make things right both for us and the company. We are completely satisfied with the final result.

Perfect from start to finish. They were polite, professional and showed up on time. The fence that they put in is beautiful. We were very satisfied and would use them again.

I had a very good experience. The price was competitive and the installers were polite + professional. They were very skilled and also cleaned-up great! Communication was good and the fence is exactly what I hoped it would be.

We had used Reliable when we bought our house to run a fence from the property edge to the house in order to complete the closing off of the back yard to keep our dog in. This was in 2004. They did a wonderful job. Totally painless, very responsive, excellent end result. So now that we had to replace a larger section of fence, although we did get a variety of quotes, we decided to go with the known vendor based on our positive earlier experience, and we went with Reliable. They were prompt on visiting and giving a quote. But that was all they were prompt about. (Afterwards, I couldn't help but think they wanted to get you in the door and add you to the already long list of pending clients that they would schmooze to keep.) We paid in full up-front, because we trusted the known-commodity. We were told it would be about 3-4 weeks before the job could be done, we would get a postcard two weeks before telling us the date (so we could call DigSafe), and get a call the night before the scheduled date to confirm. That's not what happened. Our experience mirrors almost perfectly some of the dissatisfied reviews on here. After a couple weeks, we did receive a a postcard - but it told us that they had a huge backlog and the job would be pushed out to 6-8 weeks. We were not pleased since it doubled what we were originally told, and we didn't feel like having an unstable fence that could let our dog out. We called and expressed our dissatisfaction. They said they would do their best but promised nothing. About two weeks later we received a postcard saying that they would be doing the job "next week, around the 20th." We weren't given the promised two week's notice to deal with Dig Safe. Luckily, Dig Safe is super responsive and took care of everything the day after we called. We came to realize that the "around the 20th" was Reliable's favorite mantra. Despite our pressing, they refused to give a specific date. We would come home from work wondering "was it done TODAY?" The work crew showed up a couple days after the "around" date. The crew really was wonderfully friendly and gave us a sense of confidence that this would be done right. This was a Thursday. When we came home, the job was incomplete. The 4' section to close off the one end was not there - and the last two or three sections of the fence were not securely in place. I called the next day and was told "they will probably be over to finish it today." "Probably." Well, he was wrong. During the conversation I told him that if the job couldn't be finished for some reason, a note or phone message should've been left for us. Instead, we were left wondering what happened. This was the start of a long weekend, so we couldn't pursue it again until Tuesday. I decided not to contact them on Tuesday, figuring they would certainly finish the job - and to give them the benefit of the doubt. Come home from work - not done. No message either. I had gotten home before 5:00, so I could still call them. I call and let them know in very clear (and respectful) language that we are very unhappy customers. I am told that the crew will "probably be able to fit you in tomorrow." "Probably." I told him that I am fed up with "probably" and they should be able to schedule with certainty - especially such a small amount of work to complete the job. I asked what the original delay was. Was the piece the wrong size? Did it need to be fabricated? Was it simply that they couldn't fit the job into their day's work? He didn't know. Why weren't we told about the delay? There wasn't even a hand written note tucked in the door. He didn't know. Why didn't his office call to inform us of the delay? Silence. I told him they are hardly living up to the company's name. He tells me the job will be definitely be done in the next two days. Which day? I asked. "I can't say. But it will be done." I said a curt "thanks" and hung up. Wednesday came and went and the job wasn't done. Thursday I come home and the job is complete. They had started the job the previous Thursday. The final results and assessment? 1) The fence looked good and was installed according to instructions; it is a good quality product. That's about all I can say that is positive. 2) Fence post holes were not filled in. There are 6-8" gaps around many/most of the posts. (What am I supposed to do with THAT?) 3) Our soil is very rocky, so we expected to see a lot of rocks after the job was done. The rocks, however, were strewn throughout our garden. (The fence was placed upon a retaining wall and separated our property from a roadway.) Not only were there rocks, but there was large chunks of asphalt (12"x18") left in the garden and on the retaining wall. 4) Apart from installing a good quality product, the entire experience was a negative one. The communication and customer service was horrendous. If, after the initial delay, we had been left a message saying "we couldn't complete the job today because of "X", but will return on (specific date) to finish it. We're sorry for the inconvenience," we wouldn't feel this way at all. Delays happen. But communication and customer service should also happen. The customer should not have to manage and chase a vendor to complete a job - especially when they've been paid in full upfront. 5) I'd like to note that one of the (several) times we called them, the person who answered the phone was the president of the company. He seemed singularly unconcerned about our compaint, and gave no assistance in trying to remedy it - and was noncommital about doing anything about it. We will definitely not use UnReliable Fence again - and will recommend to others that they do the same.

We are very pleased with the finished product and although we had a few bumps in the installation process - Mike (the Director), Joe and Mike were outstanding in working with us to correct everything. Would definitely recommend Reliable Fencing!
