Reliable The Fence People

Reliable was the second company to quote on this job, which involved replacing a similar 20 year old fence along our driveway. The estimator seemed more thorough and the price was slightly less than the competing bid, so we chose Reliable. At that time, we were told the job would be done "in the first two weeks of July." I called in mid-July to see what happened, and was told at that time that it would be another two weeks. Then I got a second call saying that the job was now scheduled for a week ahead. I get the distinct impression that Reliable's back office is either overwhelmed or just disorganized. (As a point of comparison, the first bidder was so confused that we felt it would actually be risky to hire them.) Once the Reliable crew showed up, everything went smoothly. The fence itself is well-crafted, with quality materials. The two guys who did the installation were very professional and hard-working. We're very happy with the results.

My lot is slanted, so my backyard is divided into three tiers. I was especially impressed by how they managed to install the fence with just a slight incline to the gate level. It turned out better than I thought it would. They had only one item that needed to be corrected - the size of the fence piece connecting to the previous fence at the back was not cut correctly. So another man from Reliable Fence came out the next morning and installed that remaining piece. That particular section was on a steep angle, and he managed to install the fence so that the slats were still verticle, even with the somewhat steep grade. I was impressed! Overall, I thought that Reliable Fence did very professional work. The cedar fence and hardware for the gate are of good quality and they were especially adept at installing a fence that wasn't on a flat grade. I would recommend Reliable Fence to anyone looking for quality work in installing a fence. Thank you.

The fence is beautiful, and we are very happy with the workmanship. We would not hesitate to recommended them for performing a quality job at a reasonable price, and we'd use them again ourselves. We have been a bit disappointed in responsiveness, however. Various delays came up along the way, and now almost 2 weeks after installation has been completed, we are still waiting for them to come back to finish a few final details.

The quote and installation went quickly. My only reservation about the company is that they said they would do the job within two weeks when they gave us the quote and also when we provided payment. After a week, I called, and they said it would be another 2-3 weeks before the installation. After a couple phone calls, their scheduled was willing to move our job up and it was done 2.5 weeks after payment. I appreciate their scheduler moving us up, but I am still annoyed we had to waste about 1-2 hours on the phone to get close to the originally promised time frame.

After seeing such great reviews for this company, I decided to call them. They did not disappoint! Someone came the same week, did the assessment, and gave me a quote right then. He was helpful with giving recommendations. Two weeks after getting the quote, we had a portion of fence installed and two gates installed. Solid construction and it looks great! Would recommend them and would definitely hire them again.

Salesman requested more info for a quote. I replied twice and he failed to respond.

Reliable fence gave me the best estimate, and based on the reviews I decided to go with them. I'll begin by saying that I am extremely pleased with the outcome!!! They did a great job. Also, I was very impressed with their customer service. Two things had come up through the process. The first was that I was not well informed of the scheduled date of the installation. When I raised that issue with them, they took the comment very seriously, and said they brought it up with other levels of management and will be looking into how to improve that aspect of the service, to coordinate things better. Also, some issues came up when they first installed the fence, that we weren't happy with. By now, we've worked with enough contractors to know that something almost always comes up, and the differences are in how the contractors handle these issues, and whether they take responsibility for them. Reliable Fence gets a triple A there. The next day Matt was there to document all the issues, and some were fixed that same day, the rest the next morning, clearly by their A team. They did a fabulous job, stood behind their product all the way, and made sure I was happy with every last detail. Now, that's impressive!!!! So, yes, I would not hesitate to hire them or to recommend them. Because I know that even if things are not immediately perfect, they will make sure everything is right, until the customer is happy. And that counts for a lot!

I called in early April to set up an appointment. Despite my sense of urgency to get this fence done early before the summer, they said they wouldnt be able to get out to my house to perform the quote until almost the end of the month on April 25th. They came out on the 25th around 9am and said they would email me my quote. (I expect one that day, or the next day at most.) Its been over a week and I havent heard anything. I will update if any satisfaction ends up coming out of this.

Reliable Fence Boston did everything that they said they would do. They took away the old fence. They actually came earlier than I had expected and that was great. I was thinking they were coming a couple of weeks later and they actually fit me in earlier. It was very easy to deal with them and they definitely exceeded my expectation. I wasn't sure if it was going to be a nightmare dealing with them but it wasn't, they were very easy. It's funny because my husband contacted actually had called a different provider and I asked him why because I was happy with the estimates that they gave me and they were very polite and everything that they said they were going to do they did. I actually convinced him to forget about them and we just went with Reliable. If I get the name off Angie's List, I haven't had anything yet disappoint me.

I am helping coordinate a fence project for my child's school. I called and talked to Steve. I asked if they would set the fence posts only so the parents would do the lower skilled work and save costs. They declined to do that since they are very busy. However, Steve took the time to give me great advice about how to tackle the project on a DIY basis.

This company was good about communicating with me throughout the estimate and scheduling process. Fence installation took two guys working for three days. They were quiet, hard-working, efficient, courteous, checked in with me about details, and did an excellent job.

We had a wooden fence that was rotting after 20 years. It needed replacement. Chris from Reliable showed up to do an estimate within 24 hours after I called them. He came when he said he would. He was very helpful in going over options with us and didn't try to upsell something we did not need. He did the estimate on the spot and came in lower than the other 3 estimates we had. I found him to be very professional. It could be the time of the year, but they were able to do the job within a week of our agreeing to their proposal. The workers came on time, were friendly and extremely professional. They did a great job and the fence is beautiful. They easily dealt with some landscaping issues which required removing a bush. I would recommend them without any reservations.

A+++. Couldn't ask for better! Theirs was the least expensive estimate, they came out to give us the estimate quicker than anyone else, and clearly wanted our business more than any of the other 6+ companies I contacted. When our budget changed, they came out quickly for a re-estimate, scheduled an install date, and kept us in the loop along the way. The guys installed the fence in two days, in the freezing cold, and were very courteous. I cannot believe we already have our fence installed and it's only March! Will absolutely use them for any future projects, and recommend to friends.

Many other contractors refused to do the job because I had a lot of weeds in the yard. They asked that I call once the weeds were removed. They installed a much needed fence and I am very grateful.

Of all the companies that we got estimates from they were the only one to show an interest and the ability to do the total job. We have a rocky section that the fence needed to go over and the man (Ken) from Reliable was actually enthusiastic and wanted to take on the challenge. He was the reason we choose this company above the others. They did the job during the heat wave in July and finished on schedule in spite of the weather.

However, after the efficient communication with the sales person and paid the fee early July. It took us several calls, phone tags and even mail to decide on when to perform the service. It finally was done at the end of August. The fence looks beautiful and the service was done professionally. We are overall very happy about it.

When we made that initial call it took no time for them to come out and give us an estimate. It took a little while to get on the schedule for installation, but I think that is due to the fact that it was spring and they were very busy. They were very quick and did a good job. It took them a total of 2 days to complete the job, and after they were done we did a walk through together and the installer pointed out parts of the fence that were a little off the ground due to the slope of our land. We've gotten many compliments on the fence, and have had no problems with it yet.

Overall experience was very positive. The installation was done extremely well, the fence is beautiful and was done exactly to our specifications. Steps 1) Getting the quote was a breeze. I called, made an appointment, and the representative was at my house within days. They provided a written quote the same day, which I really appreciated. We got quotes from 3 people that were all within a few hundred dollars. We chose Reliable because they were the fastest and nicest. 2) Scheduling the install was ok. They are busy right now. It took about 3 weeks from payment to install. This was within the 2-4 weeks they told me. 3) Prep work is on you. You are required to call dig safe and pull any permits necessary. You also have to level and clear the area. They were able to help for the one area I was unable to successful to myself. 4) Install was delayed one day because the foreman was sick, but the next day they were out there and had job done quickly. The fence looks amazing. I was honestly shocked at how nice it all looks. I would absolutely use them again.

I have a very large back yard at my home in Bradford, MA. I purchased the home about 3 years ago. The back yard was a bit overgrown, and had an old wooden fence around it. Seeing I have 2 large dogs and 2 little girls, I need something better than was there, and safer to keep everyone in the back yard. I called around to a few companies to get some ideas on prices and what they had to offer for fencing products. Out of the 3 companies I called, one never showed up. the second one came by a day late, and just threw numbers at me, and left me feeling take it or leave it. My third call, which became my final call, was to Reliable Fence. One of the reasons I called them was because once I looked around at what other families had put up for fence, Reliable's tag was on a lot of them. I pull into a McDonalds, and the fence is installed by Reliable. My neighbor's fence was also done by Reliable. My initial call into the office put me into a very nice gentleman named Steve. I told Steve what I was looking for basically, and he took the time to explain my options over the phone. At the end of the conversation, he set up a time for a company representative to come out and meet with me at my home. The day of the appointment, Dana from Relaible Fence showed up exactly on time. We looked over the back yard, and he took the time to show me exactly what the company could do, showed me examples of the fencing products they offered, took measurements, and said I would receive a thorough quote in the next few days in the mail. Approximately 2 days later, I had the quote in hand, and by far, the price was right!! It provided a detailed sketch of where the new fence would be installed, removal of the old fence, and a detailed description of what type of fence will be done. I sent in my deposit. One week before the job was to be done, I received a postcard, with a reminder of when the crew would be out to do the install, and for me to call Dig Safe. The day of the install the crew showed up first thing in the morning, introduced themselves, and went to work. In no time, they had the project done. The old fence was gone and the new one was up. There was no mess left behind. Honestly, It couldnt have gone any smoother, and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to deal with a professional business. I am more than happy with the job done. The fence makes my back yard look so nice, keeps everyone safe and sound

The estimate was prompt and professional. Warned us it would take 5 or so weeks to get scheduled. The installers were the problem. The first day they didn't come with everything they needed. Then the next day they didn't finish either, for some other reason. Then we didn't see them for 3 or 4 days. I called the office and the person who answered the phone told me the job was marked as finished. IT WAS NOT FINISHED. Two days later the installers came and finished the job. The quality of the fence is good, I think, but pretty disappointed in how that all played out.

Reliable's strength was initial contact (the first call back was very professional) but on the downside the estimator came a week early without warning and we were not able to discuss our questions in person. They were helpful in providing a revised quote when we changed from universal board to the type with support boards but their quote was $1,000 higher than the smaller company we chose. Also the detailed views on Angie's list were not as stellar as they initially seemed.

Our salesperson, Dana, was very punctual and came out twice to measure and go over options. We were hesitant to go with Reliable because of a few bad reviews, but we didn't experience any misfortune. Our two installers were extremely friendly, hard working (in 95 degree heat with 101 heat index), and got the job done in 3 days. We didn't need to be home for them either. After getting 4 other estimates, we chose Reliable because they had the most reasonable and lowest estimate other than Lowe's, who I wouldn't dare taking a chance in hiring. Overall we'd choose Reliable again if we need to add on or change the fence.
