+ -1 moreAs my first time window replacing I wish I would have done more research on this company. The salesman came over with all the bells, whistles and reports showing me how great these windows are. The windows are good. I did notice a difference in my heating bill, but if I was to do it again I would have passed on purchasing these Newpro windows because the are so OVERPRICED. I still bare the guilt of paying so much for these windows. My suggestion to those looking for windows is do your research, and get at least three window replacement quotes before you move on this kind of project because it is a big deal. Also, if you are going to buy these windows play their game. You should be prepared for some hard negotiations. These salesmen are unrelentless, so be forewarned.
Description of Work: The techs came and installed the eleven windows. They also placed cracked molding on one window and what looked liked scrap molding around the bathroom window. The wood looked like seconds or thirds. I mean it looked like it should have been use to start a campfire instead of going on my wall. I was mortified when I came home and saw what they did. I called the company, and the installers came within a few days. The guy asked me if he could fill it in with wood putty? Wood putty? You got to be kidding me. I told him for the amount of money I spent on these windows, lets replace the molding shall we. Also, the finishing nails they used were not flush with the wood and I had to go around after they left to all the windows and tap them in. Unbelievable. For the money I paid for these windows I would think that they would have done a better job than that. I see the commercial and see what the company must think of people, they must think we are idiots.

+ 1 moreWe are very satisfied with the products. The sales approach is a bit off-putting, but the second time I handled it myself (without my husband). They did a terrific job on the conservatory (although I am not aware if they still carry this line). The window and doors operate flawlessly. We did have a lock on one of the doors malfunction. They came right out and replaced the lock assembly. The installers were professional, prompt, and cleaned up daily. We could not be happier with the product or the installation.
Description of Work: We had Newpro do three separate jobs for us. The first was to provide and install a glass conservatory, at a cost of about $30,000. This was built in England and shipped to the U.S. The second job, a year later, was to replace half of our windows and add windows to the house. The next year, we finished installing new windows, added several windows, and replaced some exterior doors. The conservatory is wonderful. We looked at products from other suppliers which were much more expensive and of lower relative quality. The workmanship was meticulous; they even dismantled part of the foundation and rebuilt it because it was not 100% plumb. The windows are tight and easy to clean. We had to turn our thermostat down 5 degrees in the winter because the old temperature was too hot! Obviously, we were losing more heat than we were aware of.

+ -1 moreTHEY WERE VERY REASONABLE PEOPLE. THE WINDOWS ARE HEAVY AND VERY TIGHT. I CANT HEAR OUTSIDE BUT THEY ARE VERY NICE STURDY WINDOWS. THE PEOPLE WHO PUT THE WINDOWS IN WERE VERY NICE AND THEY WENT RIGHT TO WORK.

The scheduler repeatedly asked about my marital status, and insisted that all decision makers must be present for the sales call, or no quote would be give. I found out why. Their scheme is to manipulate you into buying their ridiculously expensive windows on the spot. I found the sales pitch to be full of deception. For example, the salesman told me that the special price he gave (hugely "discounted" from the completely absurd initial quote) would ONLY be good if I bought on the spot. Several days later, a second salesman offered me an even lower price. The first salesman said Newpro offered only one window model (a triple pane), the second salesman offered me a double pane for thousands less. They insist their product is superior to all others, but could provide no independent data to support that claim. Too many other deceptions to describe here. Be very careful if you allow this company into your home.

+ -1 moreNewpro is an interesting company. They insist on a hardsell sales call where they tell you that any windows NOT from them will fail in 5-10 years. Maybe this is true, maybe it isn't. Then they tell you the price. We signed the contract, and then changed our minds the next day and cancelled. They came back for a smaller sales call and reduced their prices more. We asked for rush install, which was still a month away. When the deadlines approached, they still hadn't called. We called them and they said the windows were ready, but they still had 2 days to contact us according to the contract. The install was quick and painless, although they delivered the wrong glass. They have 50 years of replacement glass service which they are using to fix the mistake. The new windows are very quiet and warm, and worth it.
Description of Work: Replaced 4 windows -- 3 double hung windows, and one small hopper window.

NOT ONLY THAT, THEY CALLED ME THE FOLLOWING DAY TO MAKE SURE THAT MY HUSBAND WOULD BE HOME, AND THAT THE SALES REP WOULD BE MEETING WITH US BOTH, NOT MYSELF ALONE. THEY WOULDN'T GIVE ME A BALLPARK RANGE OVER THE PHONE, SO THEY WASTED EVERYONE'S TIME BY HAVING THE SALES REP. COME TO MY HOUSE TO TELL ME THE WINDOWS WERE $1000 EACH BECAUSE THEY ARE "TOP OF THE LINE". HE TOLD ME TO TELL THE OFFICE THAT HE COULDN'T MAKE A PRESENTATION BECAUSE MY HUSBAND WASN'T HOME. IN THE END, THE REP. WAS SOMEWHAT HELPFUL IN IDENTIFYING THE TYPE OF WINDOW THAT I DO WANT, AND DIRECTED ME TO A VENDOR IN MY PRICE RANGE.

THE SALES PERSON WAS AGGRESSIVE, UNPLEASANT, AND CLEARLY DISINTERESTED IN ANY OF MY QUESTIONS REGARDING SERVICE ON THE EXISTING WINDOWS. THE PRICE VERBALLY QUOTED PER WINDOW (BASEMENT HOPPER) WAS VERY HIGH ($1000/PER). WHILE A WRITTEN ESTIMATE WAS PROMISED, IT HAS NOT BEEN RECEIVED.
