Description of Work: Wall and Ceiling repair after old wiring had been pulled by electrician. Gerry was very punctual, assessed knowledgeably, gave a very reasonable quote, knocked out the work in a few hours and the place was as clean as he found it when he left. I expect to see him again as more projects present themselves.

+ -1 moreWe have used Gerry once before to do a room and hallway in a prior home. We recently bought an 1890's Victorian home that needed some TLC. Gerry came over on time and reviewed our house and provided a written quote the next day. He put in full days (and weekends) working on the walls and ceilings. Working on the old horsehair and plaster walls it was a mess, but once he was done the house looked great and there was just a little dust to clean up. He has been doing this for 20+ years and you can tell he is truly proud of the work he does. Should we ever need to have walls/ceilings done somewhere else we wouldn't hesitate to use him again.
Description of Work: Gerry refinished all of the plaster walls and ceilings in our 3 bedroom 1890's house.

+ -1 moreEverything went perfectly. He lays plaster so smoothly it almost doesn't' need sanding. Gerry came right on time for the quote, came right on time for the two day job and, this was the best part, I needed the work ASAP. And it was done ASAP. Gerry also gave me some excellent advice on some exterior issues w/my remodel (I bought a fixer upper) and gave me a great quote to prime the kitchen. I will ABSOLUTELY recommend him to anyone who asks. ** Note, I called someone else who I"m sure would be good first, before I found his name on Angie's List. The guy came over and although his card says "No job too small", apparently mine was cuz he wouldn't touch it. Said he wouldn't make any money on it. So it was my good fortune to have been rejected - I ended up finding Gerry and I like keeping my business local.
Description of Work: I needed someone to come in and fix a poor attempt at plastering my kitchen, arched door, 2 windows and an entryway.

+ -1 moreHe is a perfectionist. He will not leave until the client is satisfied with the job. He is meticulous. He cleaned up as if my cleaning lady had just been there. He moved all the furniture and covered it. He had an assistant with him and they were definitely a good team in terms of the quality of plastering. If the job is small enough, he does it himself. The first time he came out was before the insulation job had been completed. I had to tell him that the other company had come back and made more holes in the walls. So I was not sure how much the job might need to change in scope. He was able to give an estimate based on how I described it to him. I felt comfortable when I spoke to him and knew that the quality of work would be high. He lived up to his reputation.
Description of Work: The plastering company had to literally pull the teeth out on the interior after the insulation was blown in.
